Eye Surgery

For months now I have been having trouble with my left eye. Mom would take me to the vet to get medicine for it, then it would get better. Just about the time mom would think we had the problem solved my eye would start acting up again. It seemed to mom and the vet that each time it would get worse.

The last time mom had to take me in for it the vet said "that eye needs to come out". My eye had turned red and mom thought it looked like it was bleeding inside it. It looked really bad.

On October 5th I had surgery and had my eye removed. I had to stay in the hospital until the 7th. I was so relieved when mom came to get me. I got my stitches out on the 15th.

Mom has always told me that I have such pretty brown eyes, such a pretty face. I look so different now. Part of my face had to be shaved and now I have a big scar where my eye used to be.

Mom keeps hugging me and telling me that I still have a pretty little face. She says when my fur grows back out it will hide my scar and I wont even be able to tell that it's there.

One of the grandchildren keeps saying "poor Suzy, poor Suzy". He even thinks I'm still pretty.

Even though this has been such a drastic experience and change for me life is very good. I still have a family that loves me no matter what, no matter how I look.
