Slurple Kisses are Wonderful

Hi evryone, my name is Kiki.. as of yesterday Heehee..

i think i only had a number for the first part of my life.. i don't realy know all there is to the story, all i realy know is what i know..

but i would like to say hi, and introduce myself to all the wonderful dogsters & casters in the whole wide world.. *~Slurple Kisses~*

(those are Slurpy People Kisses) i love 'em!

anywho, i am Kiki, and i was living at a place that was not so nice.. not that i realy knew, cause i had nothing to compare it to... all i did was stay mostely in a kennel outside, and have babies.. that's all i realy knew, i dont think it was very fun, and i sure wish no puppies or kitties ever had to live that way.. cause your tail don't wag and you cant give Slurple Kisses!

I was sitting around like most days in my kennel, in the heat and all the sudden i was taken out, on a trip.. wasn't sure what was happening, cause i don't ever remember getting out before.. maybe i did, and just don't remember..

but i was taken and met some peoples that made my tail wiggle and my heart giggle.. These wunerful peoples at the Tulsa Boxer Rescue in Oklahoma took me in and I mean IN.. I got to go inside..OMDoggies, it is wondeful..! (good thing i hear too, cause i guess we were all going to be put to sleep-what ever that was)

i heared them talking about other doggies that have found wunerful familes and homes.. and though not sure what that meant, it made them all smile.. they told me someday i would have a reason to smile too.. i heared that a pawesome family was going to let me come live wiff them for awhile so these pawesome Awesome peeps could find me a Furever Home, where i can learn to run and play and be happy too. So they found this Awesome House and BIG Family, and i mean Realy Big Family, to come get me and take me home wiff them while we look for Furever Happy Tales.

This is where i learned that i had been short changed in life, and all that i was missing.. Cause this Lady showed up and she was soooo sweet to me.. she treated me like a queen, a princess and a girly girl.. like i had allways dreamed of..
She gives Kisses, Hugs and a Smiley Heart..

So, this Pawesome Lady took me for another drive.. Kinda scary i must admit, but not as bad as giving birth.. Heehee

We ended up at this house, where a Big Guy was standing in the front waiting on us.. OMDoggies, this scruffy man opened up the car door and started loving all over me and smothering me with kisses in minutes.. I never knowed how good kisses tasted, so I quickely started learning how to give my patented Slurple Kisses* Special Slurpy People Kisses.. It's pawesome

So the adventure was over right? NOT.. heehee
Those of you that know these two peoples, are laughing right now.. Hey, No Tears..unless they are Happy Tears.. So the Adventure had JUST Started.. We entered a yard, where there was something icky all over it.. well not so Icky, kinda squishy and soft .. (grass)

Their hearts broke as they figured i probably had never experienced grass.. My home was a kennel of concrete, and i had a little trouble walking at first.. but if ya ever walked barepawed on green grass you know how wonerful it feels, so i loved it quick! My Tail started dancing and wouldnt stop.. UNTIL I Heard it..

**Woof, Yip, YAP and BARK** 4 very distinctive sounds

Inside that house, blocked off by a gate there were four very excited Doggies looking at me..

Now, i don't know how you would handle that, but i wiggled right up to them and tried to give a few welcome me kisses...

but.. i got to walk all over the back yard, and explore grass, and all the bright colored stuff there (Yard Full of Toys, Swimmin Pools, etc)

after some time, the man brought out this little gray doggie he called boogie.. we hit it off right away... well, i did, he seemed a little scared, but i'm a momma so i just showed him i was a sweety.. he was still shy, but getting better, he gave me a quick kiss and runned off.. He Boogie's fur sure

i walked some more and next this guy.. I can Call My Foster Pop's.. heehee, brought out a furby.. little guy growled at me right away.. i tried to say hi, but he was having nothing of it.. Foster Pop's and Momma G. took us both on a little stroll around the yard several times, threw some of those colorful things to us, and soon we were not paying too very much attention to each other... He's a Rascal

Next Came the Woof.. OMDoggies she was Beautiful.. i got to meet Sassy Girl.. Now there's a Princess that knows how to live.. i think i will learn lots from her.. We got along great, snifs and wiggles and curious of one another, but all in all a few good kisses and we seemed to look forward to getting to know one another better.. and do all that girlee stuff she will teach me..

Then it Happened Ladies.. I saw the BARK, I allmost fainted.. maybe it was all the NEW, but i am pretty sure it was the Handsome Sight of the Most Striking ManDog, i had ever seen.. I went straight from reserved Lady to Swooning Teenager in a split second.. I could Follow this Guy Anywhere.. He was Larger than Life, and I let him Know It.. He was too Cool to realy pay me much attention.. you know how them Cool Guys act.. You could tell he was tough, but i saw the Softy at Heart quick.. He Growled once in awhile a little when i crowded him.. I'm not kidding Girls, i followed him all over the place.. Hey, what can i say, he's Rocks

anyways, we stopped and they put some Fresh water out.. OMDoggies, it was so cold i wasn't sure what to do with it.. But it was great.. but i was more intrested in all the cool doggies, so in time we all got to hang out in small groups and then all togather...

It was quite a day... By Bed time i was so comfy.. I was Drinking well, eating, and did i mention I am House broke.. I did all my stuff out side..They seemed very pleased.. I had Picked out a Realy Fun Squeaky for myself.. heehee, a Santa Paws Squeaky and took it evrywhere i went.. I snuggled, Cuddled, visited, even got something called treats.. Not sure what they are, and didnt know what to do.. but i found out what not to do.. Drop it on the floor and walk away, cause that little furby will grab it lightning fast.. heehee

Well that's pretty much my first day... Today was even more Fun.. I will try and tell you about it soon.. There was so much new, that i have to tell it in parts.. Everything is New to me.. i never had a real life, so everything is amazing and wonderful..

For now all i can say is I real Realy Hope to Find me a Furever Home that is as Special to Special Doggies (and we all are) this one..

I'll Lap up the Love until then here, and be realy realy ready fur my new Home and Family.. Looks like I get to start something called Trainning soon and Walks.. Sounds Exciting and makes the other doggies tails wag, so it must be great.

Have a Pawesome Day and remember to smile along the way.. Makes Happy Tails and Happy Tales!

Here is the Information of Kiki & Others Life Before the Wonderful People at the TULSA BOXER RESCUE Showed Love..

This is as tough of a situation as any rescue group should ever have to deal with, my friends.

About a month ago, the Tulsa Boxer Rescue was contacted by a vet's office regarding a breeder with 18 female boxers and 2 male boxers who were unable to reproduce and make a profit for him. He is now willing to turn them over to TBR. They were tentatively scheduled to go in to pull all 20 dogs out of the facility at one time and transport them directly to the vet's office for physical evaluation and temperament testing. From there they literally had nowhere to go. Generous donation that came in at the onset of this issue; but what they needed then was people. And they need ideas. Ideas and input are coveted right now, and They will be reading them all.

Here are parts of some of the rescuers/transporters stories (they had a caravan of 9 vehicles by the way):

Wow! What a day! Wish you could have all been there. Most of you reading this will have as hard of a time as we did understanding that these dogs (17 of them, not 20) were considered nothing more than livestock; that is how they were described. They were in their own outdoor pens with the only shade being inside a dog house where temperatures cannot be discussed. They are all well fed and they had water- let's not discuss quality here. We were given 14 dogs and later a 15th dog after one rescue team member was able to persuade the owner that this pup would not be a good breeder due to the deformity in his back legs. Go ahead and read between the lines- they kept two females. You guessed it. They intend to continue breeding our precious boxer breed! and they don't even know the difference between a brindle and a reverse brindle. We rescued 3 males, one young, one older and the pup. The 12 females range in age 3-7 yrs. and have clearly been bred to no end! They have never been in vehicles, never had a treat, never been in a house, never free to play and romp with buddies, never had a bath, in fact, most never even had a name. Three are being boarded in Bristow, and the rest are in private foster homess throughout Tulsa and surrounding areas and in OKC. I will share more with you all after a good night's sleep! Thank you all for caring and for being there when these dogs needed you!
Sincerely, Robin

This is what I did today along with my two daughters. We helped transport these poor babies. When we got there and they brought those dogs out they never even gave a wag of the tail. I swear they had never been out in the daylight or out free.
We got them back to Tulsa, took them to Petco, who bathed them and cleaned out their ears and did their nails for free.
Then they donated bags of Nutro dog food for each dog. I buy that for my babies and it costs 35.00 a bag. God bless Petco.
We took four of the dogs to Denise's house. She had cleaned up her storage shed, bought an air conditioner and had everything ready for them.
When they got in that back yard they became puppies. Real puppies. Running and having fun. One got in the storage room and found a bag of clothes and started throwing them out. It was like she was saying, "Here try this on, it will look good on you."
I hope we can find good homes for all of them. One of hers is older and will be hard to replace but they sure did not look like the dogs we got this morning.
We took three vehicles and brought back five dogs plus the crates. We had some good laughs and Treasure and I about died when the caravan of cars turned on to the red clay dirt road and drive through that red dust. I kid you not, you could not see the car in front of you or see where you were driving. On top of it the wind was blowing about 30 miles an hour.
She worked hard to get things ready and will have her hands full taking care of those four boxers plus her own Huge Boxer Will and her little Jack Russell, Grace. Get it, Will and Grace. And then she named two of her foster kids Karen and Jack. I am proud of her and Treasure both.
Treasure had a cutie named Becky and I kid you not, she never let that dog out of her sight, kissed it good by when it went in to get bathed and just fretted over her in general.
Good night. It has been a long day, a long drive and a warm and wonderful feeling to know we got these babies out of there.
To all of you in the Tulsa area, please pass the word around that these dogs need good homes. You will be able to see their pictures on Boxer rescue of Tulsa. Don't know the exact website but just do a search for that information.
They left the country to day, went to the city, got there shots and probably had their first bath. And all are sleeping in cool comfortable places tonight.

along with several other wonderful volunteers with TBR and Dr. Todd Mauldin caravaned out to the upper central part of the state (in the middle or nowhere on a red dirt road) to rescue 16 Boxers (14 females and 2 males) from a breeder. These dogs were being surrendered b/c they were no longer making a "profit" for the breeder. In fact the breeder advised us (TBR) that these dogs were not family pets they are "livestock". I know many of you have either been on a farm or was raised on a farm and we know livestock to be cows, pigs or chickens. Right? Never in my wildest dreams have I thought of dogs to be considered livestock, let alone a Boxer.
(This was pulled from the AKC website). Does this sound like they are describing livestock?
"One of the breed's most notable characteristics is its desire for human affection, especially from children. They are patient and spirited with children, but also protective, making them a popular choice for families. The Boxer requires little grooming, but needs daily exercise."
These 16 dogs were housed on concrete or dirt floors. They did have shelter, but no access to air conditioning in the summer or heating in the winter, no room for excercise. Let me reminder you the it was 6/4/08 and it was approximately 92 degrees out that day. All these dogs knew about life was to breed and make babies.
After rescuing these dogs we drove the 2+ hours back to Tulsa to the PetCo on Riverside where we were greeted by staff with open arms. Each dog was given a free bath, ears were cleaned and nails were clipped and on top of that each foster parent was given a free bag of dog food. (I am not talking about Old Roy I talking Science Diet)
A big thank you to PetCo. It is nice to see that there are others out there that care about these dogs. All dogs have now recieved their shots, baths and are settling into their new homes and a NEW LIFE.
Let me tell you about my foster, I have named her Lexie May AKA #7. We are thinking she is about 3 years old, but from the looks of her she appears to be a pup. She still had her winter coat on and like I said before it was at least 90 degrees outside. Can you imagine? She has had at least two litters of puppies. She is underweight and underloved. She is very terrified and scared to this new life that she is enduring.
It appears that she has never ridden in car, been in a house or been loved before. We are on our second day and she finally calmed down enough to eat her first meal (rice with chicken broth and dog food) she refused to eat the rice but could not chew up the dog food unless with was moistened. She is slowly beginning to trust Shannon and I. She has spent most of the time in her crate (where she feels safe from the unknown). We are slowly introducing her to the inside world (the house). She basically crawls across the floor in fear. It breaks my heart when she looks at me with her big brown eyes and they are filled with fear.
She has two fur siblings that are dying to meet her. I have reassured them that time would come (later rather than sooner). It is going to be a long road to recovery and I say recovery b/c she has never in her life been treated like a dog should be treated.
Thanks for taking the time to read this email and I hope it gives you a better perspective of the people that live in this world.

From the Eye's of a Pop's

I'm here to tell you, i don't make a very good Foster Pop's.. No way No How.. all i want to do is whip the tar out of anyone who could ever miss treat any living thing..

My heart just breaks as i watch Kiki exeperince things for the first time.. It's Bitter Sweet.. My Heart is full as i see her get to experience all the things we take for granted.. Hugs, Kisses, Food, Air Conditioning, Treats, Good Food, Extra Attention..Heck any Attention, Toys, Green Soft Grass, Playing, Companionship, Soft Voices, Soft Beads, Soft Hearts, Smiles, and so much more..

and My heart just breaks to think of 5 long years she spent completely without any of these things.. I can't even go there if it were not for neededing to feel it, so that i can get more busy in the fight against this type of thing.. or for the needing to visualize this type thing to get more compasion and patience with the living things that as Kiki says, just never knoweds"

In the past 2 1/2 days i have been realy blessed.. i have got to admit, i am anyways, but i learned that blessings can come at any time from any place.. i realy want the families who are thinking of adoptions to meet kiki from my eyes.. I will try and tell it like i see it..

Kiki is wonderful.. She is so affectionate.. She doesn't appear to have a single mean bone in her little tiny body..

Kiki deserves alot of attention.. evrything is 100% new to her.. so if it feels good and makes her tail wiggle, she will respond in a very loving and Positive way..

Kiki is like a new born baby.. every single thing seems to make her happy and amazed.. she is playful, and gentle, and an all around sweet personality..

She is awesome with other dogs off all sizes, breeds and temperments..

She seems to learn real fast.. She has a great sense of enviroment, and adapts easly..

She is very healthy from all reports we have and what we can see...

Kiki is House trained all ready.. Not because someone worked with her, but we started taking her out often from the start and realy praising her when she goes outside.. she also watched the other dogs and just picked up instantly, that this is the place to go.. NOT one single incident in the house yet.

Kiki also has a realy real soft demeanor.. Not one single sign of agression from her in all this newness.. Thats being swarmed by other dogs, new people, Being Lifted, played with, etc..

Zero signs of any Food Agression.. in fact she kinda invites all the dogs over to eat with her.. she'll drop a treat and let anyone have it ... I have taken food away from her in a testing enviroment and she's like, "I know ya will give it back"..LOL

she's just awesome from what i see...

She does Need and DESERVE a lot of attention and training on the basics.. Sit, stay, No and such..

Regena and i have started that and will keep you updated.. What she realy needs most i think..Oh we are in trouble when i think.. but i do thinkshe needs people with patience and tollerance and just Kind Loving hearts.. she is smart and will learn well and loves the praise of sucessful training.. so it will be great if she finds someone that will be consistant and just work with her..
so far as i see, she Loves it!

Well i better go check out the Pack.. Feel free to contact Regena or me about more info any time...

Thanks for all the wonderful kindeness many of you have shown as we share our lives with kiki and share her with you...

Have a Geat Day!

Not so Fun Day

Hi all, well it's 2 more days and it's not been a Fun One today..

yesterday, i had kinda bad day... woke up and all seemed fine.. the day was pretty normal, but i guess all the new just finaly got a little to me..

i got a little cranky and did some little growling at the others.. i just needed a little space comming from isolation ('cept when they wanted me to have more babies) to a full active area Household.. Pop's and Regena quickly saw that i was needing a little less action and a little more time to just relax and enjoy the love and Comfy enviroment.. so i got to get my own Big Space in the House, where i could roam some while not having to interact as much.. It seems to have made my mood a little more calm, and i can still give kisses through a little gated area.. just for a little while as i had to have my Spayed Surgery today also and wasn't allowed food or water..

So Now today i had to go get my surgery.. it all went well the docvet said, and i am back home now resting and in recovery mode.. I think i will enjoy the rest and soon be ready to play again..

Got a comfy bed, right under the Air conditioner and will rest up for some fun times ahead...

Cool New News..

June 19th... I get to go to Tulsa Oklahoma & be part of a Adoption Day at Pet-co just for all us that came from this rescue.. say a little prayer that we all find Loving, Patient, wonderful furever homes..

We also found out that i have a micro chip, so i can never get lost..
My Birfday is March 4th.. and My Registered name is Mugsy.. so I guess i can be Kiki a.k.a Mugsy Heehee, makes me sound like a lil gangster girlee.. but im not.. Im just dig'n Mug'n for the Camera..

I weighed in at 49 lbs. and healthy.. DocVet says Just a little worn out and tired..

Pop's and Regena say they think I need a Loving Home that has the time I derserve to Be loved on and i will in return make a totaly Pawesome Loving Fur Baby..

All is still Pawesome and Look forward to full recovery and a Full Long Life of Wiggles, Giggles and tail Waggles..

Loves and Slurple Kisses

Kiki Simmons ** I Got my Furever Home!

Hi all my new dogster & Catster pals... Sorry i havent updated you lately, been real realy busy..

Had joined right in the family pack here with Dallas, Sassy Girl, Rascal & Boogie.. No More seperation at any time.. I slept where i liked, played with everything and even played when i liked.. Realy made some great progress from my scared self when i first arrived..

****Report from Pop's****
Kiki had totaly settled right into a normal loving enviroment and respomnded so well to this type of life.. So Loving and gental.. Learned about all the things we all take for granted. She learned also to share toys, eat well right next to the others, sleep where she was comfortable and all...

****Kiki See's It****
Well, all was well and going great.. Pop's says that he still felt that because of the type of abuse that i had suffered, and how well i respond to needed attention and trainning that we would keep look out for a Wonderful Furever home where i could Lap up all the Attention i deserved..

Well we had a Big news day, there was a Family intrested in meeting me.. so Regena took me Sunday to Meet them.. Surprise Surprise, one of the other rescues from that terrible place was allready there adopted! Wonderful if they Loved me too!
So I met the whole New Family, peoples and Doggie and even a Kitty..

What a beautiful Home.. BIG BIG BIG.. Huge Yard to Play, a Pool and all the Luxuries a doggie could want.. Elvated resting Places in the House, everything!

I loved these peoples alot, and they responded to it good! There is several Teenagers and they wanted two of the rescues to love furever.. I just had to make them see i was one they needed to make their hearts Full!

They loved me, and so did the Other Doggie (Rescue).. Now that furry Kitty.. I went right up and Kissed it on the snout.. It seemed to like me.. No Hiss, maybe ran off, but it liked me i knew.. and so did the family! They asked to keep me. (The Family had been approved for adoption with a A+ rating) and so Good news Friends.. I got to stay... I got my new Furever Home.. My New Name is Kiki Simmons.. Heehee, and i think i will love it here...

Pop's said to pass the word on that if anything ever happened, i am going right back to him and He'll Never Let me go after that..
(I think it was too hard for them to Know in their hearts that I deserved a House/Family with less doggies, so i could Get Lots & Lots of Attention) and to let me go... I hear Pops is sad and Happy at the same time.. He Loves me, so if the Simmons are as Wonderful as Regena says, then he will Be So Happy for me..

They Promise to send new pictures soon of me playing and Loving my new Family.. So We will keeep me a page up here on dogster if it's ok, so everyone knows that i am doing good, and that there is an example of Happy Tails of Adoption WORKS!

Pawlease Be Happy Pop's , and i miss you all too.. *Slurple Kisses*
