I went to "Bark In The Park" day!

Mom took me to the Regional Park for "Bark in the Park" day this morning. It was nice and cool and I got to meet a lot of people and pups. Little Sissy took some pictures with her cell phone and Mom put them on Facebook and on my Dogster page. A friend of Mom's was there and took some pictures too but she hasn't emailed them yet.

My Vet people were there and gave me lovings and so were the Humane Society people that spayed my girl sisters last winter. They had an adoption center set up at the pavilion. There was a funny wiener dog race too. Boy, those little guys sure can run!

Mom didn't know there would be booths set up selling doggie stuff but one lady gave me a treat and another one tied this beautiful orange scarf around my neck. I was so handsome! People were amazed that I am still a pup. LOL I was excited when we first got there but I settled down. I let all the little kids pet me and I was SO gentle with them. Mom said I was such a good boy.

I got my new harness!

Mom had to buy me a bigger harness and it finally came in the mail. It's a super sized model for dogs over 100lbs and Mom already had to let it out four inches. It has a seat belt flap and everything. Mom said the seat belt flap comes in handy when I plant my feet and refuse to go through the door at the Vet office. It might take two people but they get me in there.

Mom got some good pictures of me wearing it. The one of me trying to open the fridge is the best. My girls got my old harness cause they are only 60lbs. I'm such a big boy!

My eyes are better!

Mom doctored my eyes for a week and they are doing much better. She has started bringing me in almost every evening to clean them and my ears. I'm starting to really like it.

Also, my girls got spayed Wednesday and I can't play with them for a long time. Mom has been bringing me in more to play in the house because she feels sorry for me. I like coming in the house but I sure miss playing with the girls.

Went to the doctor about my eyes-01/24/09

Mom didn't like the way my eyes were looking so she took me to the doctor to have them checked. They were always watery and redder in the bottom than she thought they should be. The doctor said I had a very mild case of Entropian and gave Mom ointment for it. I'm learning to sit real still so she can clean my eyes good and I don't know why I fought it so much before because it feels good! She has to tie me up to put the medicine in them but she said I'm doing much better. I finally figured out it doesn't hurt. HeeHee

The doctor said it might get better on it's own after I finish growing because the eyelid might start to droop out instead of in like it is now. If it doesn't fix itself I will have to have surgery but he said it's a very minor surgery and I will be fine. I just hope Mom doesn't have to leave me all night like she did when I was neutered. I was SO scared without Mom.

I saw a cow today and got my ears cleaned.

Boy was I scared! Mom took me for a long walk to the pond. On the way there I saw these HUGE ugly animals looking at me. They were lined up at the fence and were watching me. When we started back Mom didn't let me track myself back. Instead she told me that I was going to meet a cow. Nope, not me, no way! I sort of had to go because I was on a leash but I hid behind Mom when we got close. Mom said they were friendly but I wasn't buying it. Anyway, I was standing there trembling so much that I could hardly stand up. I decided to pretend I was brave by raising my back hair and growling. One of the big ones moo'ed at me and I almost pee'd myself. Mom laughed and started walking toward home. I bolted by her so fast I almost snatched her off her feet but she held on tight. She told me I was a scaredy cat and that I had to walk like a gentleman. We finally made it home but I kept a close eye on the cows because they were following us. I didn't trust that fence. I was SO glad to see my yard and the girls.

I don't think I like cows much but I love walking with Mom.

When we got home she tied me to the tree in my yard. I thought UH OH because she has never tied me up before. She had the ear cleaning stuff in her pocket all this time. She squirted it in one ear and rubbed. I fought her a little but couldn't do much tied to the tree. She did the other one and you know what? Once I stopped fighting it I figured out it felt kind of good, especially when she rubbed it. After she squirted my ears she untied me. She laughed because I begged her to do it again! I think I might learn to like the ear stuff after all. She gave me a dog biscuit for being so good.

I learned to dumpster dive yesterday

You know, Bloodhounds noses can really get us in trouble.

Mom brought me in yesterday so that she could check my sore leg/foot and clean my ears. She always lets me stay in for a while. Well, yesterday she just happened to come around the corner as I was retreating from the garbage can with a mouthful of scrambled eggs. Boy were they good! Mom accidently scorched them and that's why they were in the trash but they tasted good to me. She said I looked so funny standing there with eggs hanging out both sides of my mouth that she couldn't fuss at me much. I was trying to pretend they weren't there but it didn't work.

She made me come to her computer room and I got in trouble there too because I grabbed the silicone keyboard cover off her laptop and tried to play with it and then I grabbed the handle of her camera and tried to drag it off the desk. I finally just gave up and sprawled across her feet for a nap while she surfed the web.

I still had fun though! There's a lot to explore in the big house!

I got a new doghouse! It's huge!

Mom and Dad went to my Uncle Tommy's house Friday night and came home with a big surprise for me. It's my very own super-duper plus size doghouse. This thing is awesome. It even has an attic. Now I can stretch out without having to leave my head hanging outside. BOL She put pictures of it on my photo page.

I got neutered!

Mom dropped me off at the Vet office Friday morning to have me neutered. I don't think I liked it much. She left me there; I didn't like that. She kissed me bye and left! I had to spend the night with people I didn't know. She picked me up on Saturday morning and I was so happy to see her and Little Sissy that I wasn't mad anymore and gave them bunches of sloppy kisses.

She brought me home and put me in Kipper's small kennel. She said I had to stay there for a few days before I could get back in the yard with Mattie and Taterbug, the mutt puppies. We play too rough and Mom worries about my tootoo.

HeeHee, the Vet people were all glad when I went home. I'm noisy. :-)

RooRoo! I'm getting there now!

Mom took me to the vet this morning for my last and final puppy shot. The vet wanted me to have four instead of the usual three.

I weighed 52 pounds today and I'm 4-1/2 months old. I'll be 5 months old on August 7. I've gained 36 pounds in the 8-weeks Mom has had me. When she got me at 10-weeks old I was a puny 16 pounds.

I really, really like to eat.

Best Saturday ever!

Mom bought me a new harness that can be used to walk me or to hook me up to the seat belt in the truck. She brought me in the house and fitted the harness on me, washed my face and ears and put me in the truck. I had to ride in the back seat because Dad went but it was still fun. We went to the Athens Regional Park to walk around the lake. It was really fun this time because they were hosting a hotrod car show and an Amateur Radio Club show. We walked two laps around the lake and then we went to look at radios and hotrods. Dad has an amateur radio so he was glad he went. Anyway, I stole the show. I just LOVE peoples. There was a whole crowd that came up to me for slobbery kisses and I got pet, pet, pet. They didn't know I ate a wad of duck poop when Mom wasn't looking. Dad saw me though and growled at me. Maybe it won't make me sick. Duck poop kisses. HeeHee. I didn't jump on anybody either. Mom says it's important for me to be around people. One man asked Mom if she was going to train me for search and rescue. She said she didn't know if she could or not but she would like to. He told her that if she ever wanted to sell me to call him and he gave her his card. I'm not worried though because Mom will never sell me!
