Arrival Story:
I found a note on the bulletin board at the store. I didn't know what Newfie was, other than that it's a BIG dog. She had been rescued by a woman who couldn't afford her care and some needed surgeries. The lady that rescued her said she had been bred a few times already. Hannah was so thin you could see her ribs and pelvis despite her long coat. Her head looked way too big for her body. Her behavior told me that she had been beaten as well. She also has a cherry in her eye that we need to get fixed, but we have been waiting for her to reach a healthy weight and we had to get her spayed. I am so glad to have this dog. Don't tell my other pups, but she is my special girl. I don't know how anyone could harm such a sweet and gentle girl.

Bio:
OMG!!! Update 5/8/08 I met Hannah's original Mama at the store yesterday. Hannah was in the back of my truck as usual. Hannah's original Mama had to give Hannah up due to medical problems and diagnosis of six months to live. Somewhere along the way, Hannah wasn't fed right and folks were mean to her, but I know it's not the ladies I met yesterday. Hannah was so excited to see her Mama's and was licking them like crazy. The ladies were crying. It was all bittersweet. See, the ladies had been praying that God would give Hannah a good home again and that they would be able to see her again. Well, Hannah lives on 62 acres, I love her to bits, and those ladies can come see her absolutely anytime. I also found out her birthday yesterday. She's OLDER than me or my vet thought. Plus, she's a mutt and I love her all the more for it. She's half Newfie, quarter Saint Bernard and quarter Lab. I don't care about her breed because to me she is beautiful. I was so glad I met her original Mama's and they were so glad to see her. They've sent me some baby pictures. I will post them soon.
