Arrival Story:
Bear was the scruffiest dog at the Houston SPCA in the spring of 2001. He had been kept outside, chained to a tree, so his hair was bleached a peculiar shade of brown with orange tips. He was a matted, minature version of Mr. Snuffleupagus from Seasame Street. We met, fell in love, now he sleeps in a king sized bed and lives a life of luxury. His original name, "Teddy Bear," was shortened to the much cooler "Bear." His middle name comes from the fact that he wouldn't eat for the first few days I had him, except for a few pieces of cornbread. He is a spectacular combination of a daschund and poodle, otherwise known as a doodle, and looks like a hot dog with wild hair. He likes his sister Lulu, but LOVES big blondes, esp. golden retrievers and yellow labs.

Bio:
He has an unusually dense body and makes a great paperweight. If he's sleeping on the bed, he cannot be moved - all must conform to his sleeping preferences. This is tolerated because he has gotten over his fondness for eating cat poop.
