Arrival Story:
Mom picked me up from the breeder who was looking for a family to adopt me. I lived with my Doggy dad, doggy mom, and doggy baby sister until the day Mom drove for over two hours to get me. I lived in the high desert so I was a brown little puppy when Mom and her human family first saw me. My mom's entire human family had paid a visit to the breeder before picking me up a couple weeks later. She said that I am such a sweetie as soon as she saw me!

My First Haircut and Grooming Day

Mom seemed really excited for some reason and kept telling me that today is my grooming day. What's Grooming, I asked. Nonetheless, I saw my pup-friend the Scottie being in a Van with a lady brushing his coat. Hmm...I don't really care for brushing, but I find it occasionally acceptable when mom gives me a cookie afterwards. Then I guess, it's fine, for a while...

Anyway, the same lady pulled her van up our driveway, my turf, and invited me in her van. Hmmm..should I go in? I hesitated but Mom kept telling me to get in. Okay. now I understand what grooming is all about. It's a BATH + BRUSH +a lot fur flying around!

Everyone says I look so good after it was all done. I was given treats too!!
Oh! happy day.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm pooped out and needs a nap...

I must run!

I'm quietly watching TV on my bed with mom now. She seems to be exhausted today. I wonder why. I was so happy to see her home early tonight because she always does something fun with me when she's home early! So I kept reminding her that I'm HERE by talking to her non-stop ! She finally put on her shoe-things and out we went to the puppy-food-store!

Oh am I in heaven! Lots to sniff! and I caught a MOUSE in the puppy-food-store! Mom kept telling me to GIVE up the mouse, but I M-U-S-T kill it! Mom put her hands in my mouth (which I really hate!) and that made me drop the Mousey. TOO BAD!

Mom apologized to the cashier lady and says she's paying for the Mouse. But what I don't understand is, why pay for the mouse when I already killed it for her?? I wonder. After we went home, Mom put me in the back yard and I ran about 30 laps. Boy am I an exhausted puppy. I think I've made a Sammie record today.

Mom's now exhausted and so am I,
so it's sleepy time for me,

My first hike!

My mom took me on my first hike ever! I was so excited because I knew I was going somewhere really fun when mom's human dad skipped my daily walk.

We had a relatively easy hike, mom says, although it was uphill all the way. I was a little tired but I kept pulling mom up!! We rested for a few times too to get some water (juice for mom) and mom fed me a few kibbles with water to keep me hydrated. I learn to refuse to drink water until mom place a few kibbles in my water dish. HAHAHAH!

The weather was so nice and the houses below seem so small from the mountains. I had a wonderful time and I can't wait until my next hike! Mom commented to others that I was a well-behaved pup. She might take me again for the next hike!! I'm excited!

Until then, I need my puppy sleep. The long hike sure tired me out.

It's sleepy time for me,
Sammie the pup
