Hi Diary,
I actually was given a birthday party for my 1st birthday and I had to tell you all about it. Last Friday November 7, 2008 I was 1 years old and mom and dad gave me the best 1st birthday party on Sunday November 9, 2008. They had my party at my favorite dog park and not only was almost all of my friends there, but I made alot of new friends as well. I have to admit that dad did almost all of the work because 3 weeks earlier two of my friends accidently broke my moms ankle and she is in a cast and has to use a walker, but she helped as much as possible. Dad had packed up our truck with tables, barbeques, sterno's, chafing dishes and all of the food that was needed to make my party a success. Dad set up everything on the outside of the fence for the dog park, this way I could go inside and play, but both mom and dad could still watch me and if I needed dad he would just have to open the gate and walk inside the dog park. The party had started at 3:00PM and we didn't leave until 5:30PM so I got to spend 2 1/2 hours playing with my friends. Mom had made up doggy bags for all of my friends so everyone who was there went home with a doggy bag loaded with treats and rawhide. My pawrents really thought it over so they had Coffee (decafinated and regular), Hot Chocolate, and Soda for the humans and Bottled water for me and my friends. Dad made big pretzels and hotdogs on the barbeques which were for the humans and me and my friends. My best friend Moose and I must have had at least 4 hotdogs each. Boy were they good. Dad had also made brownies for the humans and doggy cupcakes that had ground turkey in them for me and my friends. The cupcakes were really delicious and dad had put some peanutbutter with a dog biscuit on the top so the humans would know that the cupcakes were for me and my friends. Everyone kept coming over to me and saying happy birthday and alot of my friends even gave me birthday presents. It was really alot of fun and everyone had a good time. I must have had at least twenty friends there. I was so exhausted from partying with my friends that as soon as we got home I fell asleep and mom and dad had to wake me up the next morning because they had to go to work and wanted me to go to the bathroom before they left. I always knew that my pawrents love me alot, but the party they gave me was something that I never expected. I am so lucky to have such a great family and will always remember my 1st birthday party....

Well dad and mom finally took me tubing with my human brother Shane and my human sort of brother Michael, and what a blast I had. They took me out on our boat a couple of times in June, but I've never been on a tube, let alone by myself. We got out on the water around 12pm and dad said that he would tube with me first. We all put our life perservers on and I put on my doggy googles (don't want to get that salt water in my eyes), and dad and I got on the tube which was attached to a really long rope. I had no problem laying down on the tube because in this hot weather the wet tube felt nice and comfortable. All of a sudden we started to drift away from the boat. I wasn't scared because there was a rope attached to the tube and I knew that my mom would pull us in if we got too far away from the boat. What I didn't expect was for Shane to start the boat and start driving away. All of a sudden while I was laying comfortably on the tube, it jerked a little and then started moving in the water. I looked up at dad to see if he was surprised like me, but he was just smiling and looking down at me and saying don't be scared this is going to be fun and Shane will not let us get hurt, so I just sat back and enjoyed the ride. It really was fun and the water kept coming up and splashing on us so I stayed really cool. When I stopped tubing with dad, Shane & Michael came on the tube with me. Once Mom and Dad felt I could do it myself, they let me go on alone. Boy was that a great feeling and the water and houses by it looked really pretty. I got to tube three times today and I can't wait to do it again. Even though every once in a while there were waves that shook and rocked the tube it still was a great time and I'm glad mom and dad let me do it.... Enjoy your summer everyone......
