Recounting a bit more of our June trip here. After 9 days of backpacking in Shenandoah Park,Dad and I drove the 469 mile length of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This winding mountain road begins at the southern end of Shenandoah National Park and follows the crest of the Blue Ridge Mts thru southern VA and into NC ending in Great Smoky Mts National Park. We took a few days for a leisurely drive down the parkway stopping to hike at many places as the following photos illustrate.
