The date has been set

April 10th 2010 12:43 pm

Wednesday, April 21 at 7PM is the date that Levi and I will start our "training". It will be just the 2 of us (with the pawrents and trainer). The trainer sez it will take a while, but she's willing to work with us as long as it takes. OOOHHH and she's going to train the pawrents, too. I think she should start with them! BOL

Right now the trainer thinks all this has to do with dominance, Dad and the bedroom. Well, we'll find out soon!

I'll let you know how it goes!

Yup - 2 years ago tomorrow (April 4th),
I became a part of the Blaner Pack.
Whoa - what a busy 2 years it's been!

I wonder if the pawents will have a party for me?
I've seen them doing lots of extra "things"
around the house the last few days.
They went shopping this morning and
drug a lot of bags into the house.

OOOHHH - this could be good!

the fence

The wire on our electric fence broke somewhere during the lovely piles of snow that we received this winter. Our pack hasn't been able to go outside to romp and play like we normally did. That was due to the very deep snow AND the broken electric fence. Now, Dad did try to keep letting us out once the wire on the fence had snapped.....that worked for a little while. One of us finally realized that the fence wasn't working and we were off and running!

Dad put an end to that and we were being taken out 2 or 3 at a time on leashes. YUCK!

Anywho - enough snow has melted (yes, we still have snow on the ground) that the fence was fixed yesterday! BOL to run and play outside again!

There is so much to explore in the yard that I haven't sniffed in months!

Life is good!

No cookies in the house

Mum forgot to stop on the way home yesterday
to get us cookies. We are completely out!
She's not planning on leaving the house now till
Sunday morning. HOW would/could we survive
without cookies for that long?

I suggested that she bake us some cookies.
That would be pawsome! Having the house
smell like baking cookies. My mouth was
watering just thinking about it. Oops - problem there....
the oven still isn't working properly. (Dad really
needs to get on that!)

Turns out that Mum can be pretty darn creative
when she needs to be! Last night she made a
chicken salad sammie and used that for us in
place of our cookies. This morning, we gots
peanut butter on bread instead of cookies.

What I thought was going to be a horrible thing
hasn't turned out too bad so far!

a whole year

It is now a full year that Levi and I have been kept separate.
It still makes mum and dad sad that we don't get along.

On the up side, we do see each other almost daily.
Just a baby gate separates us during those times.
We have even been nose to nose OVER the baby gate!
That is progress.

Dad has found a trainer that works with bully breds.
He is hoping to get me and Levi to work with her.

We have to wait till the weather breaks cuz
we can't ride in the same vehicle with eachother
AND it's down off the mountain were we live to the lady.

Hard to believe it's been a year.

P'd on and now P'd off

Mum has been working on crocheting an afgan for a Christmas present (I know - it's only January!) Anywho, she's been working on it ever night after work while watching TV and sez she has 144 squares made. We have made sure that she is weaving just enough of our fur into the afgan to make it extra warm! (We're generous with our fur like that.)

So the other night, she almost left the bag with all the squares in it on the floor overnight. In our house, that would mean that we boys would make it "ours" by peeing on it. Mum remembered to put the bag up on the table thus saving the squares from them being made "ours".

When she woke up the next morning - her bag of crocheted squares were on the floor. She's thinking the cat might have knocked it down for us. (We do work well together.) Sure enough - we made that bag and it's contents our own. We all peed on the bag - letting everybody now know that it was ours!

Who would have know that because we peed on the bag that Mum would be peed off!

lightly coated food

I, like many other pals here on dogster, like to eat my food in the living room with the pawrents.

We don't have carpet on the floors, but there is always a blanket on the floor for one of the pack to stretch out on if the want. This is where I take my mouthful of food to eat it.

I spit it out on the blanket and then eat it piece by piece.

Tanner has taken interest in my eating habits. He knows when I have food and is right there wanting to eat it, too.

The pawrent aren't sure if Tanner thinks I'm eating something that he doesn't have in his dish or if Tanner just likes his food with a light coating of saliva on it.

Either way, I'm willing to share and have plent of saliva to go around. Anybody else interested in some lightly coated food?

A critter in the house

January 7th 2010 4:19 am

There has been a critter in the house that isn't a part of The Blaner Pack. Addison and I have been stalking it for a while. You could hear it chewing at night - in the kitchen. It chewed and chewed stuff under the dishwasher and rendered it "broken" on Christmas Eve.

This critter has been driving us crazy. Addison, being the hound that she is, has been obsessive about it....just sitting and staring at things, almost knocking Mum down when she goes to the basement with her.

Well, last night, Addison and I were doing everything we could to tell someone exactly where that critter was. Dad moved coats - nothing. Dad moved our food bins - nothing. Then he moved the egg cartons that we save for the Amish and sure enough, out jumped our critter.

It ran down the basement steps with Addison and I right on its tail. Dad thinks Addison actually stepped on it twice before it got to the basement! (She's really quick!)

Addison caught the critter and it didn't live. Dad was so happy that the critter was finally gone!

End of story? Nope - last night there was still chewing noises in the kitchen. I think our critter had a family!

Back to stalking.

Loved it.....

when can we do it again??? I'm talking about Christmas!

I got lots of extra attention from Grandma and Uncle Bob.

There were more dogs here to play with.

I got to help Uncle Bob open up his presents.

I got presents! Balls, squeakies and lots and lots of pigs ears!

Hope you all had a great "whatever you celebrate", too!

Bodhi - up VERY early ready to play again!

my pawrents are so rood!

Mum was upstairs sewing. She noticed the squeakies that she bought to make us some toys for Christmas. (They are just the squeakie without the toy right now.) So she squeaked it and I came running. I wanted that thing......BAD! She wouldn't let me have it, but did let me see and lick it.

Next thing I know, I hear a squeakie downstairs. So I run downstairs to find that squeakie......nothing. Just Dad and Tanner sitting on the couch. Again, there's a squeak upstairs. So, I run back upstairs.

This kept happening over and over again. I was getting tired - had to stop for a drink of water. I was getting slower and slower going up and down the steps......never did find that squeakie. I'm exhausted now. Must nap..........zzzzzzzzzzz

Hey - you don't think the pawrents did that on you?........zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
