Being with his home pack - Nana, Papa, and BobbieJo (his cat-mom)
He hates his home being threatened by mail deliveries.
rope/ball combination throw toys

We found Robby at a local pet store and brought him into our home as a companion and future replacement for our older, buff-colored cockapoo, Xerxes. In addition to Robby becoming a great pack-mate for Xerxes, he also became a welcomed addition to our in toddler/pre-schooler home day care "pack"!
As a puppy, Robby was all black with just a touch of white on his chin. As an adult he is now showing some "salt and pepper" in his mostly black coat which is still soft, velvety and silky. He is about 15 pounds, very intelligent and obedient and is a much loved addition to our family pack.
When Robby was an adolescent, we had another cockapoo, Xerxes, who was much bigger as well as older. Robby loved to jump up and grab onto the end of one of Xerxes's long haired ears and then roll in the air (like an alligator doing a "death roll".) Xerxes would pull away from him and then pin him to the ground with one of his front paws. It was a game that the two played quite often.
One day, while I was using a choke-chain training collar for basic obedience training with Robby (and didn't know that I should be removing it when not in actual training,) he started his favorite ear game with Xerxes and accidentally got his choke chain collar caught over Xerxes's lower jaw. When Robby started rolling in the air, the chain collar tightened to the point that Xerxes couldn't pull away and Robby started to strangle.
Fortunately, I was right there and saw what was happening but when I tried to unhook the collar from Xerxes jaw, the chain was already wound so tight behind Xerxes's lower canine teeth that I couldn't slip it out of his mouth! I tried not to panic as I realized that Robby had rolled himself tightly into a deadly choking situation! I picked Robby up to try to unroll him, but by then he was struggling so desperatly for breath that no matter which direction I rolled him, I couldn't tell if the choke chain was getting looser or tighter! It quickly got to the point that Robby passed out, his body went limp, and he lost all his urine. I was afraid he was going to die before I could get him untangled!
Thank God, when he passed out and quit struggling, I was able to better sense how to unroll him and successfully loosened the chain around his neck enough to get the two separated. I was so relieved when Robby immediately took a deep breath and regained consciousness.
That was a terrifying experience for the both of us and I learned an important lesson - NEVER LEAVE A CHOKE CHAIN COLLAR ON A DOG!!!!
Guard your heart from this robber!

It's been so awesome ever since my Nana and Papa said that it would be alright to have some play buddies come over to our house every day and even have some sleep-overs once in a while!
I have the very important job of showing my buddies around, playing nice with them, and being a good example to them. We have lots of indoor space at Nana and Papa's Place with things to climb on and jump over, and balls to chase, and bean bags to snuggle in, and bones to chew on, and LOTS of toys to play with! We even have a fenced in backyard so we can be safe when we go outside to go potty or just want to run around chasing the squirrels and each other!
Once, my good friend Roxie, the Pug, came from California to play with me. We had such a good time! I showed her all my toys and let her chew on my favorite bone. She was so happy! We had such fun chasing each other and playing together!
The next time she comes, I'll show her the new balancing board. It has a ball underneath it that makes the whole thing wobble when I try to stand on it. It is REALLY fun to try to keep my balance on that thing! I sure hope Roxie will be impressed and want to try it for herself the next time she comes to play!
In the meantime, I'm looking forward to sharing more stories about my work as the Doggie Day Care Assistant at Nana and Papa's Place.
Love and Licks!
