I am SO EXCITED about my new wings! I can do everything now, fly around and keep up with all of my friends here at the Rainbow Bridge, zip down quietly and check in on my human family and ChiliBob, even sometimes go rest in the horses' field in the tall grasses where only they can see me. It's fun. Griffin and Vinny and I have become fast friends (they were my Mom's Before Me), and all the girls are great, too, but we guys run and fly around a lot.
ANYway, I also wanted to note here that I am so proud of my Mom's ChiliBob. He completed his Basic Manners dog class yesterday and got a diploma and everything. The teacher wanted to make the last class kind of like a party, so everyone was shown how to do "tricks". She explained that it wasn't 'frivolous stuff', but actually an especially good way to have your dog come across as friendly (to people who are skeptical or afraid). AND she made a good point that lots of people are afraid of "big", "energetic", "dark colored dogs", and those with physical traits of the more-guardian-type breeds. WE know that we're friendly...but people are funny and sometimes have preconceived ideas...if we can do a 'friendly/funny trick' then that puts them at ease and shows we have a sense of fun. Good thought.
So she was teaching the usual "shake" (ChiliBob knew that), "hi-5" (ChBob knew that), "wave" (ChBob caught on REAL fast on that). She did the intro to "roll over" (ChBob almost has that down), and ChiliBob showed her that he can also do "crawl"! She then taught them to "spin" and he is learning that. There is also something else very funny that he does, but I'll let him write about it. I was laughing a lot when I looked down and saw him doing it, though....and I was a little envious because I was not that daring in real life.
I wish I had been able to take classes...but when my Mom got me (I was almost 5yrs.) I was already very nice and mellow and didn't create any problems - I fit in real well. I miss everyone, but I'm glad I have my wings so I can zooom around faster.
