The Raccoon!

I got into a fight with a raccoon the other night. Well, it wasn’t really a fight but that’s what I’m telling everyone. I knew the bugger was out there in front of the apartment. I could smell him. I’ve seen him around before and I’ve chased him up a tree once. Anyway, Mom and I were going out on a walk and the steps were icy. I bolted down the stairs and stuck my head in the bushes looking for the creature while Mom carefully walked down our very steep (and against safety code) icy stairs. Once she was about half way down I found the raccoon. So I started growling and carrying on. It all happened really fast. I tried to get him but Mom yelled and it spooked the both of us. The raccoon ran up the tree. Boy was I mad. I wanted to sit and wait for him to come down. I mean, he has to come down eventually right? I would have happily waited out there. It was cold, windy, and snowy. My favorite weather!

But Mom said no. She said I needed to go potty so I forgot about the raccoon. We went on our walk and when we got back he was STILL up the in tree. My tree, by my house! Can you believe it? We went back inside and Mom kept going onto the deck to check on him. He just wasn’t coming down.

So guess what she did. She takes a can of MY food, without giving me any, and brings it out to the raccoon. She said that the coon was too scared to come down and he didn’t need to be up in that tree all night.

So not only did I not get to catch the raccoon, he got to eat some of my food. He ate the whole can!

Hope you enjoyed my can of beef, raccoon. Next time I won’t be so easy on you.
