You feel like a candle in a hurricane
Just like a picture with a broken frame
*Alone and helpless
Like you've lost your fight
But you'll be alright
*Cause when push comes to shove
You taste what you're made of
*You might bend, till you break
Cause its all you can take
*On your knees you look up
Decide you've had enough
*You get mad you get strong
Wipe your hands shake it off
Then you Stand, Then you stand
Life's like a novel
With the end ripped out
The edge of a canyon
With only one way down
Take what you're given before its gone
Start holding on, keep holding on
*Everytime you get up
And get back in the race
One more small piece of you
Starts to fall into place

I got to go to the desert with Mom, Dad, Grace and my furless brother, Larry. It was just a great weekend of motorcycles, target shooting, golf ball driving, campfires and barbeques. We were the only ones as far as we could see so we got to run off lead. I wish you were all there with me.

We finally went to the lake. It's been so long. Mom is finally feeling pretty good so Mom, Dad, me and Grace, my 1 year old Yellow Lab sister, went to the lake. We walked for what seemed like miles. We saw jack rabbits, lots of different kinds of birds and other dogs. I got to meet a couple of cute little fawn colored Chihuahuas. We were all about the same size.
We thought maybe we'd see "Aunt Sandy" there. She is Spencer and Tara's Mom but we didn't. Maybe next time.
Wishing all my pup pals and their humans an Happy St. Valentine's Day!

Our sweet Veterinarian, Julie Maher, D.V.M. sent us this e-mail. We want to get it to as many California pet owners as possible. We sent it out in the more populated groups but here it is again. It's hard to afford the care of 5 dogs as it is without an increase in the tax on their services.
How to call your legislator about this 9% tax on veterinary svcs:
CA wants to legislate a 9% tax on all veterinary services, including meds. This is really reprehensible at a time when so much is being done to heighten awareness regarding caring for animals. Veterinarians, who’s training and licensing are as rigorous as that of MDs will now have their care taxed as though they were dispensing canned goods. And the cost of surgeries, neutering, etc. is high—an additional 9% will discourage many from giving their pet care. And, don’t think that they won’t then apply this tax to YOUR HEALTH CARE! THEY WILL IF THEY CAN!
Subject: NO veterinary tax in California, please!
This only takes less than a minute! - You can punch the numbers one after the other. Say NO to taxes on our vet services!
(916) 445-2841: then, 1 - 5 - 1 - 2
Please call the governor’s office and make it known that balancing the budget at the expense of our pets' health is not acceptable!!!
It only takes about 20 seconds because it's all automated.
Call 916-445-2841.
Press 1 for English.
Press 5 for the veterinary tax proposal.
It will ask you to press 1 if you're calling about the veterinary tax proposal, so press 1.
Then press 2 to oppose the tax
Please forward to others. Thanks.

We are so glad Trixiemae's Mom, Audrey, is back on-line. It just wasn't the same without her here.
We were rooting for the Eagles yesterday because we have a good pal Petey (598366) from Philadelphia. He's a JRT too! They lost but not by much...Next year, right Petey?
Vern (405996) has made us two really cool pics. One with a Beach Ball and one with a Mardi Gras mask. We love that sweet Vern.
Licks,

We are all so excited about the Charger's game on Sunday against the Steelers. The start of the season was disappointing but they really have come through and actually made it to the playoffs! Mom wants to get a jersey but can't decide which one. Everyone has L.T. (Tomlinson) jerseys. Dad says she should get a Darren Sproles jersey because he little like her and has a "lot of heart."
We will be proud of them whether they win or lose. They have come a long way with lots of injuries and Shawne Merriman out for the season. We really wish they had kept Drew Brees. He is a class act and has turned out to be one of the best, if not THE BEST QB is the league. Too bad it's for the Saints and not us. I wonder where we'd be if we'd kept Shottenheimer and Brees?!?!? ...and dumped A.J. Smith!
I hope we win because I don't like it when Dad yells at the T.V.

Guess what guys! Mom is through with her treatments...all of them! The Radiation Oncologist said that the radiation effects will "peak" in 7 to 10 days and then Mom will start healing from the burns. I just have to be careful when I jump or climb on her...for now.
We want to thank all of you for all the support you've given us over the past several months. 2008 was a "bear." 2009 should be a "piece of cake!!!" and we love cake...
We love all you pups and pawrents!

Merry Christmas everyone!
Mom has 4 days off of radiation and the only two more days left. That is the best Christmas present we could have! We have met so many nice people along this path. We hope to stay in touch with some of them.

Only two weeks of radiation left! Hooray! The last day is New Year's Eve! That will be something to celebrate.
It's supposed to rain for the next 5 days. We could use the rain but I don't like to go potty outside when it's raining but I do...I just hurry.

Two weeks down and three weeks of radiation to go! Mom says the same people are there everytime getting their treatments too. They are all very nice and talk with her. There's a TV in the waiting room and it's always on the food channel and "Emeril" is ALWAYS on at that time of the day. It makes Mom hungry except today he was making Rumaki (water chesnuts and chicken liver wrapped in bacon). Mom doesn't like LIVER! I've never had liver. There is never liver in the house. Maybe I would like liver. I will never know...thanks a lot Mom!!!
When Mom came out of the treatment room to leave she asked "Am I glowing yet?" The other patients laughed. Mom says "You gotta laugh as much as you can!" I'm looking forward to Mom having two days off of treatments. She said she'd take us to the lake and maybe we can go visit our pal Spencer.
Bark at you later!

P.S. Hey Jess! Thanks for keeping up with our progress. We hope you and your family have a great holidays too!
