01/18/13 Snow chains #5 and we finally have TV

As most of my readers are aware daddy has been having some “issues” with the snow chains. The first pair broke when he got stuck in the gulley and spun his wheels trying to get out. The second, third and fourth pair did not fit the tires on his truck. So, he bought pair #5 and as he put it “I got the next bigger size thinking I could cut them down to fit it they were too big.” Well they were too big and he did end up cutting them to fit so we now have one working pair of chains and enough left over chains from that pair to extend pair #4 so they too will if he ever needs to replace set #5. Even though the snows have stopped there remains lots of ice and packed snows on our country roads so snow chains are still necessary.

Yesterday the guy who set up the connections for our TV found this out first hand. We got a phone call the first thing in the morning informing us that the installer was on his way. Momma and daddy got out of bed and then let Puffy and me outside to do our business. When we came back in from the cold, momma locked us in the bathroom so Puffy wouldn’t try to sample the installer’s ankles – BOL. The humans waited and waited for the installer to arrive and finally the phone rang asking for directions to our house. Daddy told him how to get here and what road to take and hung up. About 30 minutes later the phone rang again and it was the installer informing daddy that he was stuck on the road that runs behind our property. Daddy put on his shoes and left to rescue the guy. Turns out somehow the installer drove off the paved road, across the culvert and luckily managed NOT to hit any of the tress but was stuck in the snow and mud. Daddy had to pull the guy’s four wheel drive out of the muck and back onto the road. Not only was the guy lucky he didn’t hit any tress when he went off the road, but he could have easily caused his 4 wheel drive to tip over going across the culvert, plus he just happened to get stuck right at the area where cell phone reception starts to cease so he was able to put in the call to daddy so he could be rescued. Had he gone 100 yards further he would have been out of luck.

Too all you spammers out there, I have started forwarding all Dogster spam(s) received to the mighty Dogster Watch dog per their instructions. I don’t begrudge you for trying to make a living however I do not want to be bothered with your advertisements, nor should I be. I come onto this site to have fun and read about what all my pals are up to, I do not want to be directed to a site that is selling something. Your disguise of having left a comment at a diary where I too left one is not nice as you are taking advantage of a tool that alerts REAL members to new comments in valued pal’s diaries.

I'm happy and have adjusted quite well. Puffy on the other hand is having some problems with the ice. The snow and ice won't be here forever and we do have a BIG yard to explore in. The local rabbits and deer leave very tasty chocolate drops for me to eat (don't turn up your nose until you have tasted them as they are DELISH)! Our new home is slowly coming along but has much more work needed before it is finished. However I reserve the right to change my answer when the Monsoon rains and thunderstorms come in during the summer.

Oh trus me, I's NO food snob! I's will try ANY food. In facts I's tasted sush exotic treats as venison beast droppings and found them to be quite tasty!

COCO and Puff.. we are hoping you will write a book about your adventures in NM ! Glad daddy got the guy out .. geeze.. never a dull moment .. the weather folks were calling for snow here the other day .. it was 45 degrees out.. mom said * really* .. they cancelled all evening activities after school .. and on moms way home from work she passed 10 snow plows.. and yes you guessed correct .. not a flake ! Got to love the weather men ! Mom says they have the best job.. they never have to be correct and they keep collecting a huge pay check ..

Oh, and about dat spam, you can go to your account, click on account preferences, then click on comment preferences and set them so only Dogster members can comment on your diary entries and photos.

We had to do that some time ago... helped to get rid of da spam.

Smart solution your Daddy came up with to fix the three sets of chains! Glad the tv guy finally made it in and got you hooked up. One day you'll all look back on this adventure in moving and, as you settle in front of the fireplace in your lovely new home,you'll be able to look back and smile, realizing it was all worth it! Hope that day comes sooner than later!
