Arrival Story: Ranger is one of many coonhounds and beagles that we have rescued. Ranger came to us from a shelter in Southern Indiana where he had been turned in by his family. We brought Ranger to rescue almost 2 years ago..he was up for adoption until September of last year when we discovered that Ranger can find lost dogs! So now Ranger is being trained to help families find thier lost pets!
Bio: My name is Ranger I am a bluetick coonhound that was left in a kill shelter UNTIL one day this rescue group came along and said they had room for me!
Unfortunately after a year of being with the group NO One had shown any interest in adopting me.....
I was safe tho cuz the folks at Robdar's said they would keep me until a home came along...
I had a friend at the rescue named Moose he is an English Coonhound that had also been with Robdar's for about 8 months He finally found a new home. One night there was a clap of thunder and Moose jumped the fence at his new home...the folks at Robdars were Devastated and spent 7 days and nights searching non stop for Moose...On the 8th day they took me with (I was tired of being home alone all day and night) GUESS WHAT I DID???
I FOUND MOOSE (he was my pal so i knew his smell right away and I led the folks at robdar's right to him) They thought it was a fluke....BOY were they surprised when a couple months later another beagle had backed out of her collar in her new home...they immediately went out looking and took me with...I never even met this little beagle she was at a different foster home I smelled her doggie bed an off I went in 45 minutes I led them right to bonnie.......Since then they realized I have a talent and now I am training to find lost dogs (and even better yet they are my forever home how could they let me go I have been with them 2 years! They Love ME!)
I have found 7 dogs in the last few months some of them peoples pets that had been missing over a week....
See they are really proud of me...BUT I am really more proud of them for saving me!
NOW...I want to help the rescue....
Its time for there 3rd annual Hound Hike & Hoot N Nanny...
Robdar's Houndsong Rescue is a Beagle and Coonhound Rescue located just outside of Chicago, IL they are really working hard to get the word out about how great us Coonhounds are as family pets! their regular website is
They are getting ready for the 3rd annual Hound Hike and Hoot N Nanny.
What is the Hound Hike & Hoot N Nanny??
Every year beagles and conhounds and there owners walk the parade route. For every dog Hiking down the street, pleadges have been made. These pledges go to help cover the costs of the many sick, injured and homeless beagles and coonhounds in shelters every year! You can get pledges from friends, family and co-workers every dollar adds up! The more you raise the more hounds we can save!
I will be walking in the parade this year and I am trying to get as many pledges as possible to help this growing organization raise money to one day start a sanctuary for us hounds.....If you would be interested in making a pledge for me to walk in the parade that would be great!
You can see all the information about the Hoot N Nanny at the Robdar's Hoot N Nanny website at www.robdar.com
Would you be willing to sponsor me in the endeavor I have set a goal to raise at least $500.00 to help more coonhounds and beagles find there forever homes!
See in the past 10 years they have rescued over 600 beagles and coonhounds and all were spayed or neutered...all were given their shots and heartowm tested. Some were treated for heartworm. Some had surgery. Some beat all the odds! All received love. Now its time for the third annual fund-raisor...the Houndsong HIke for Hounds. We'll be walking through the streets of Monee, ILLinois in the fall Faire in Monee Parade on September 8th 2007. I am asking that you pledge whatever amount you'd like for me to walk in the parade...WILL YOU HELP?
You can email me for more info through dogster or at firstname.lastname@example.org
I would love if you could come to the event! We have people come from all over! There are local hotels that are pet friendly and it is a day filled with SOOO much fun...
