From Puppy Class. Although, I'm hardly a puppy, Mommy started me in that class to get me out of my shell. It worked.

An update!

Mommy is going to add this to my diary today. I'm too busy resting to dictate this. Take it away, Mom!

I had to take Kayla to the vet yesterday; I could tell she didn't feel very well. I knew that it was her ears again, especially her left one. And I knew it was deep inside too.

When I got there and was checking in at the desk, I was surprised to feel the leash vibrate. I looked down at her and saw that her whole body was shaking violently. Poor baby! She kept moving towards the door and looking over her shoulder as if to say, "C'mon Mom, let's get outta here now!"

Sure enough, she has a mild to moderate ear infection down in there, and the left ear is worse. So antibiotics, ear flush and ointment, then recheck in 10-14 days. She runs when I pick up an ear flush bottle, so wish me luck. :-)

I had told them at the vet that they would have to coax her to get weighed as she doesn't like to step up on scales and boxes, etc. And not to force her if she resisted. She resists being weighed at PetSmart so I haven't been able to weigh her. She's timid so I'm very gentle with her.

I was curious to learn what her weight is now as she weighed 49 lbs. in September. She had put on a little bit of weight while at the kennel, and I could tell that she's put on weight since I got her two months ago, too.

Well, to my surprise, she apparently walked right onto the scale! It's low, I gather, so that must have made a difference.

But hold on to your hats! She now weighs 64 lbs.!

More befitting a boxer/lab mix, I'd say!

I know, I know. Someone I know had thought she was a lab mix, but I never saw it. But another person and I saw a lab several weeks ago that had a less blocky face than a lot of labs--plus it had the same pink patch on the nose as Kayla does--and we could really see how Kayla shared some of its same characteristics.

And one other lady told me she was a lab mix coz she had webbed feet.

Webbed feet? O-K.

Well, Kayla wants me to play with her now, so I better obey. :-)

I'm a happy pup!

Wow, Friday was so much fun. I got to meet one of mom's friends, eat grilled chicken at the Park Bench Cafe and go for a long walk in the park. Then I went to a puppy training class. (I'm no puppy, but it's good to start at the beginning.) I was surrounded by nine other puppies. They were cool. I was happy to be in such a large pack!

Mom says I'm the best dog ever. Even Baxter the cat likes me! I've yet to meet the other dogs in the household, but that's OK. We're taking things slowly.

Life is good.

Woof!

I'm in my new home!

Wow, I can't believe it! I'm in my new home. I could tell that today was gonna be different coz Mom showed up at the kennel pretty early in the morning. Then she took me to the groomers. After that, she took me to her house and introduced me to Uncle Marc and Baxter the cat.

We hung out in the den. Wow, soft carpet. I haven't been on soft carpet in a long time! We watched some TV and Mom took lots of pictures and videos of me.

I sniffed everything, but didn't want to go into that crate she set up for me. She put my food in there and everything, but I didn't want to eat it in there.

Then she put my harness back on and put me back in the car. I gave her a pleading look. I didn't know what I had done wrong. She was taking me back to the kennel, I just knew it.

But she told me I was a good girl. We did some errands and then came back home!

When we came back home, Baxter was waiting for us at the door. He hissed at me and fluffed up something fierce. Mom was surprised coz he never did this with Sable or Milo. Maybe he resents me taking over his den.

Anyway, now I'm snoozing in the office while I dictate this to mom.

Mom is taking me home on Monday. I can't wait! She says she's going to foster me for now, but I bet I'll end up being a failed foster, huh?

My Really Big News!

First of all, please check out my new Xmas pics. I'm sure ready for the holidays, aren't I?

Now for the REALLY BIG NEWS! **drum roll, please**

It looks like Nikki's mom is going to take me to live with her after all-!! You know, I picked her out to be my mom. And as Tom, the co-founder of Critters in Need Pet Rescue, says to her, "She's your dog." I'm very attached to her.

Mom isn't sure she can handle four dogs (five with Milo who is Marc's dog) but she does love me. She's admittedly nervous about the whole thing and is hoping that she hasn't bitten off more than she can chew

It'll be hard to integrate all of us dogs (and who knows how I am with cats--the guess is that I'd have to be on leash with the cats) ... so if you have suggestions, I bet Mom would love that!

Mom just took me off the adoption list. I'm going to remain in the kennel until the end of the school semester, which should give Mom some time to introduce me to her dogs.

Mom knows that many people won't understand her life choices, but, oh well!

I Met Sable!

I forgot to tell you! FM had me meet Sable the other day. A really nice lady named Kym helped us meet. She walked Sable and Mom walked me. We walked for over an hour. Sable and I were not instant buds, but no hackles rose and no one leaped and barked, so there is hope that we will end up liking each other.

Since I love my foster mom and she loves me, she is hoping that all will work out and I can be her forever pup!

Blue - Siberian Husky lost in Michigan!

Blue, a black and white Siberian Husky (4 year old male, brown eyes, microchipped) has been missing since May 8, 2007 from Brighton, MI.
Dogster page: http://www.dogster.com/dogs/620507
Website : http://whereisblue.com
E-mail: inform@whereisblue.com
Telephone: (313) 550-6095
Reward offered for his return, no questions asked.
Permission and gratitude for cross posting. Thank you!

A letter from Blue's owner:

"Blue" has been missing since May 8, 2007. Someone, somewhere HAS to know something about his whereabouts. He can't have vanished into thin air. I have done nothing but look for him for the last 12 weeks and I don't know where to turn anymore, so I'm begging for your help. There is a large cash reward for his safe return (NO QUESTIONS ASKED) or for information leading to his safe recovery. There are really only three possibilities. If you can help with any of these, please contact me asap (contact information below.)

1. Someone has him. Maybe they haven't seen the TV reports of the hot air balloon search. Maybe they are not in an area where the thousands of flyers have been distributed or have seen any of the posters around a 10-15 mile radius of Brighton Twp. It has been 12 weeks and after all, he could have gone much further than we think and someone could have taken him in as a stray. Maybe a long distance driver picked him up so that he wouldn't be hit by a car on the streets and he's not even in the area anymore.. Please email this notice to everyone you know, regardless of where they live. He could be in Montana or NY by now so please send this link to everyone in your email address book. Tell everyone you know about Blue. Even though his name is Blue, he does NOT have blue eyes. He is black and white and has brown eyes. He is microchipped, so anyone , anywhere can have a veterinarian scan for a microchip and even if he is halfway across the country, he can be identified. Please send this email to everyone in your address book, we need to get the word out in a much wider area than we have originally concentrated on and I really need your help to do so. Send it to everyone, even non dog people - please....

2. He could be dead. You might have hit him when he ran out on the street in front of you - that would not be your fault. Or if you're a farmer, he might have gone after your livestock and you shot him - you would be perfectly within your rights to do so. Even though I would be heartbroken, please let me know if either of these things have happened. It is better than wondering and worrying about him. I need closure. I need to bring his remains home so he and I can both finally be at peace. If either of these things have happened, please email me at codeblue@woofgang.com and let me know where he is so I can go and get him and bring him home.

3. He is still out there running loose. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this is the case. He's a very smart dog and could probably figure out how to survive on his own. There have been so many sightings, and while we know some of the dogs were not him (we were able to track some down) we don't know about all of the sightings. There were plenty of sightings last week in the Hartland area and we know that the found female is not the same dog in the cell phone pictures and we know that another escaped dog is also not the same dog based on timing. If you see a Siberian Husky running loose and you think it could be him, please call me asap at 313-550-6095. Timing is everything - if you call me a day or two later, he won't be in the same area and I'll never track him down. If he is still running loose, he's probably not going to go to anyone, but will run and hide if you try to catch him, so the best thing to do is to call me immediately with a location so I can get out there or get one of the many wonderful volunteers who have been helping me, out to that location as quickly as possible. Please don't email with a sighting, call me right away! 313-550-6095
There are so many people who are helping me look for Blue. There has been so much spent in time and gas and $ for flyers and posters and ads and the hot air balloonists and power parachute pilots who donated their time and equipment - if you know anything about where Blue is, please, please let me know so I can thank everyone for helping me and not continue to make requests for help which will be fruitless. I need to get my boy back home, one way or another, I really need him home.

Thank you for reading this far - the last three months have been horrible and I so much appreciate everyone who has helped. Maybe I'm Part Boxer?

FM changed me to a boxer mix. We don't really know what I am, but the Agoura shelter thought I was a boxer, and so do lots of people who meet me.

So maybe I'll find a home now that I'm "properly categorized."

I sure hope so. I sure have lots of love to give!
