Almost a year

It is almost a year since I arrived at the Rainbow Bridge. I can tell that my mom has been having a very hard time with this fact. Though there have been other members of my family who came before me. Maybe it's because I was the last of the shelties in the house. Though I will say Midnight is a great addition to the family. He sure does keep Sandy on her toes. Just like she did to me. That girl kept me young. Now it is Midnight's turn to keep her young. I know that mom knows I am here with the rest of my furmily watching over her. We all wuv her very much. She took such wonderful care of all of us. My angel bros Mischief & Whiskey & angel sis Brandy send their wuv to her. As do I! We thank you for giving us a wonderful life mom!

My Furst Birthday at the Bridge

Today is my 15th birthday & my furst one here at the Bridge. I would like to thank my furends for all of their birthday wishes. As I sit on my cloud I can see how much I am still miss by my pawrents. There are moments when I see that mom has a tear in her eye as she remembers my past birthdays but I also see the joy that these memories bring her.

I can also see some of the things that puppy Midnight is doing to Sandy. Now I think she understands some of the things I used to say to her. It makes my heart happy to see Sandy and Midnight getting along as well as they are. I know that the pup will help to keep her young at heart. Just like she did for me.

Well I hear Whiskey calling me that it is time to cut my cake here at the Bridge.

I would like to thank all of you who have been keeping me in their thougths & prayers. It means a whole lot to me & my family.

Now I have not had a seizure in over 24 hours. What a relief (phew) but I am still dealing with what them other seizures I had did to me. Some of the stuff I am dealing wiff is: I am restless so I am pacing around alot, a major problem wiff my balance which doesn't help me when I am pacing around the house. Thank goodness fer pawrents who come to the rescue. I also bump into things like that big brown thing. Oh, wait that is Sandy. She is always happy when I bump into her or step on her head. The seizures have also made me real hungry. I keep trying to get Sandy's food. Something tells me that I should try that when she isn't standing at her bowl. All I know is that I am grateful that my pawrents are there to help me. I still have a long ways to go to get back to my old self.

Now I would also like to thank all of my furends over at the Doggie Connection fer picking me as their furend fer the week. Thanks so much fer this honor & making me feel do ruved.

Updates on me

On monday afternoon I went to my vet. He checked me over. They shaved this lil spot on my leg and stuck me. I watched as my blood came out. They took my blood fer some tests that needed doing. I had my temperature taken need I say more? Dr. K my vet checked me over from head to toe. When I was taken away from my pawrents & Sandy. When I returned I saw Sandy looking very relieved. I do believe my kid sister was upsetted. Dr. K spoke to my pawrents and told them that my blood work was all normal. That he was giving me medicine to help with the seizures I've been having. Dr. K thinks that I have a tumor but due to my age we isn't gonna do anything about that.

On tuesday & wednesday I had only one seizure (mom says knock on wood). Also I've been doing loads of sleeping. These seizures have worn me out! Plus they have these after effects one of which makes me feels very restless plus a few other things. One of my pawrents have to help me up & make sure that I have my balance before I can walk around.

Well since I am in one of my restless modes I am off to walk around the house fer a bit.

I scared myself today!

Not that long ago I scared myself and my pawrents when I had what they told me a seizure of some kind. This is the furst one I've ever had. I've seen my late bro Whiskey & late sis Brandy each have them. All I know is that my whole body was a shaking fer a while. Also that my legs are a bit more unsteady under me currently. Even my kid sister was concerned about me. My pawrents are keeping a close eye on me. I sure do hope that I don't have anymore of these dang seizures! If ya can send some POP my way to help keep them away I would appreciate it very much. Thanks so.

My 14th Birthday

On April 9th I celebrated my 14th birthday. I would like to thank all of my wonderful furends who wished me a very happy birthday. I most certainly enjoyed reading all of you birthday wishes. It was a real nice day outside. So my family and me spent some time in the sun. Since it is early springtime everything is starting to bloom. Now a big plus is that it is getting warmer outside which means that my arfitis will not be bothering me as much. Now back to my birthday. Let's see. Mom made my breakfast special by adding some peanut butter to it. YUM! What I nice way to start off my day. That was followed by a nice nap. After my nap dad took Sandy & me on a nice mid mornin walk. After which mom gave me a treat :) Now I did take another delightful nap. It was on the afternoon walk that my family & me spent time outside after the walk. I did some exploring which I enjoyed. Sandy didn't even knock me over on my day ;) When we all came back in and enjoyed my dinner. When we was all settled after eating I got my present from my pawrents. It was a new squeaky toy. Yes, I still enjoy squeaky toys even though I can not longer hear them squeak. It is the way they feel in my mouth that I really enjoy. After playing with my new toy it was time for another nap. I ended my day with my birthday treat of some ice cream! What a delightful day my birthday was.

Otay here are my rules fer blizzard survival.
1. sleep in a nice warm house
2. eating
3. more sleep
4. playing inside where is it nice and warm
5. eat some more
6. only venture outside when absolutely necessary ... like when you gots to go potty
7. have a snack
8. take a nice long nap
9. stroll around in your nice warm home
10. settle down & sleep some more

An Update On Me

Furst off I would like to thank each and everyone one of my furends & thier families for keeping me in their prayers. POP most certainly works. I am glad to say that I am coughing a whole lot less now. Even got a little of my voice back. So Sandy tells me. I've even been playing a tiny bit the past two days. Now while I have been getting better. My mom has been fighting wiff a mean migraine. Which does not want to leave her alone. Her meds are not even helping her right now. The only thing that seems to help mom is sleeping. Which is why Sandy, Angel Whiskey and me have not been around recently. She can only spend a short while on the computer. We're hoping that the migraine will leave her alone real soon.

The Rascally Inspector Strikes Again

Well early this morning I thought I would try my paw or should I say teeth inspecting something other than wires and cables. I decided to check out the flooring in the living room. Furst I digged at the tiles. Then I pulled some up wiff my teeth. I was at this fer awhile before I saw my mom come walking toward me. Gee, I thought she was sleeping. That is when I had to stop my inspection of the floor tile. Now I have inspected tiles in other rooms in the past. Just thought I would make sure the living room tiles were up to my specs is all.

Home Sweet Home

day 5 home sweet home

Well I & my family were all real happy to be home. I was alos real happy to be taking something to help me to feel better. The swelling on my snout went down after a few days. Though I am still having some problems getting up. Finally I am starting to feel more and more like my rascally self with each passing day. The other day mom and Sandy ran out to the store and bought some stuff. Well while my pawrents were busy putting away things from the bags. I decided to do a bag inspection by tearing open the bottom of the bag when I couldn't find the top of it. Inside the bag I was inspecting was a loaf of bread. Now I made 2 holes on either side near the bottom of that bag. I was just about to get myself a slice of bread. When I felt my mom's hands on me. She moved me and that is when she realized what I had been doing. I tried to tell her I was only doing a bag inspection. She just gave me one of those oh Rascal looks. What else does one do when they are told to stop doing an inspection. I ask you?

It is nice to go visiting but it is real nice to be back home. Now that I have been back home resting for the past week. My snout is no longer swollen. Still do not have a clue what bit me. Also not having to climb stairs to go in and out of the house has most certainly helped me. Guess them stairs at grandpaw's house made my arthuritis act up in my hip big time.
