Mom is gettin' pretty furtraded wif me cuz I keep diggin' under the fence. First over here . . . then over there . . . then back over here again. I am good at pickin' new places to dig. Mom has put big planks of scrap wood in diffrent spots where I have dug, and big rocks in other places and even bricks and firewood and stumps! Our fenceline sure looks silly if you ask me.

But spring is in the air and I have sprung the coop a number of times already. I missed all my diggin' spots so much when the snow was on the ground, a'course I din remember they were there when the snow was on the ground but as soon as I saw the ground after the snow went away, I remembered the diggin' thing.

Now Mom is upset cuz she thinks I will get hurt outside of the fence. I don wanna make Mom upset, but the lure of the wild is strong wifin me. Lexie said I better stay in the yard or I'm gonna end up wif an electric fence! Doesn't Mom know that would be really really bad in the rain?

Hi there, Buddy! I sure can understand the digging when in a fence. It was 1 long winter! last of snow is just going this week with the 70 ish temperature.We have a fenced in front yard here on the prairie. I am rarely in there. I bet if, you had gopher holes on the prairie, like I have, you wouldn't dig in the yard. I dug in the yard when I was 1. Grandma gave tme a big tractor tire full of sand....I dig in that. My favorite is digging in gopher holes on the prairie. Either Grandma or Grandpa go with me.

My fursis Lexie sticks her beard down chipmunk holes in our yard and then she snorts! BOL! Do you worry about snakes, Mazy? I hear they can be poisonous on your prairies, prolly just the rattlers. Mom kneeled down once to take a photo of a relative's tombstone in Glen Ullin and when she lifted her knee off the ground, she discovered she had been pinning down a big old bull snake. He quickly slithered away and down a hole in the ground next to another grave. Spooky! But Mom likes snakes in general, so she din freak out - BOL!

I know you would like to run free, but the world can be a dangerous place for a dog. It is better to stay in your yard.
