Sudden Preponderance of Squirrels

Today is grilled meat day and for some reason, there seems to be a sudden preponderance of squirrels congregating in the farthest corners of the yard. I can hear them chatting away out there, but when I go to investigate, they must hear me coming cuz they quiet down and I can't seem to find them. 'Course they are prolly major scared of me, the mighty hunter that I am, so it makes sense that they would scram. I jus don't know why they keep coming back. It is definitely distracting me from grilled meat duty. Lexie either doesn't hear them, or she is jus ignoring them cuz she never leaves her place on the patio. I am beginning to think she is in cahoots with the filthy buggers! I believe I have already missed a couple drops of meat while I was out there tracking intruders cuz Lexie was trying to hide the fact that she was licking her chops the last time I returned to sit near the grill. Hmmm.

Me pawsonally would be going after the squirrels. Me and Patch. He has all the makings of a great hunter. Just like me. Although just like me he has yet to catch any critters the desire seems to be there. If a bird flies over the yard he tracks it and at night when he is out and the porch light is on he chases the moths all over the place. Jasmine on the other hand the only one who has caught a critter would be glued to the grill. It must be a girl thing. Priorities all mixed up or something.
