Happy Birthday to our Sweet Angel Lassie

Birthdays are days meant for celebration and fun but my heart has been heavy throughout. It’s Lassie’s 5th Birthday today and she isn’t here to celebrate it.

It was 12 midnight and dada sang Happy Birthday I couldn’t bring myself to do so. I know his heart was a lot heavy too. The night went by I was tossing and turning, the much needed sleep never came.
Dada as usual is the first to wake up. He tries to wake me up but realizes I am already awake.

I get out of bed and am relieved to see Leila and Ingmar. I am so glad they are around. I light a candle for Lassie and place it next to her baby picture. I try hard not to put a damper on things so I decide to make some frosty paws (pumpkin/yoghurt) and ( carrots, peanut butter/ yoghurt).I boiled some chicken and chicken livers for some extra treats for them .

I guess I will have to try real hard not to be melancholy. As usual, Ingy and Leila keep me very busy and the morning passes by very quickly. Come afternoon dada is home for lunch and leaves again quicker than usual saying he has lots to do today.

I go back to the computer and am at Lassie’s Page again. I had made it a couple of nights ago. It wasn’t really easy. I continue to do basically nothing. Dada returns home and surprises us with a Huge “Bone cake” and an orchid flower. It’s Lassie’s Birthday he says, we have to celebrate her time with us and not dwell on the fact that she is not with us anymore.

He heads back to work and I am there standing over this cake and the beautiful white orchid. I realize that the best way to remember Lassie today is to remember her and be Happy so I bring out the party hats & tiara’s and celebrate with my two naughty fur kids Leila and Ingy.

I get out the frosty paws which are set by now and place them next to the cake. Of course they spare no time to dig in. I thank the Lord again that they are around. We have some fun together with the picture taking and then they lick the cake first Leila and then Ingy.
I had saved a mini yellow dog figurine made of sugar paste from Lassie’s Birthday cake from last year and had promised Lassie then that I would put it on her cake the next year.

I kept my promise I got the mini yellow dog figurine from the fridge and kept it alongside the cake and pictured Lassie licking it last year. I am sure she is watching over us from the Rainbow Bridge and of course licking her lips.

Happy Birthday my sweet Angel Lassie we miss you and you will always be in our hearts.

I want to thank all our friends old and new for all your best wishes for Lassie and remembering her on her Birthday. It really means a lot …I am so glad that Lassie has such great friends. I am grateful for Leila and Ingy as without them every day would be such a challenge.

Thank you all for your Love and Support in this time of - GRIEF

We Thank you all for your love & support in this time of grief . I just started to feel a little better after losing Lassie and Mira and now I have gone back to square one , losing yet another of my darling fur kid in a matter of few months.

It is the same heartache all over again.I feel a lot for Renze , I'm sure he is missing his dear fur sissy Cutie so very much.

Two months today

My Dearest Darling Angel Lassie

Its two months today that you traveled to the Rainbow Bridge. I can’t imagine these two months have passed by so quickly and yet at the same time it feels like eternity.

Not a day goes by without you in our thoughts. We laugh and we cry as we re-live the times we had with you in our mists.

I know you are happy there at the bridge with all your friends, having a great time. But I know that you miss us too, just as we dearly miss you.

Don’t worry my sweet angel we will be together again someday. Until then know this that we will always love you very very much.

Harry the energizer

We answered an Ad in our local newspaper on March 25'09 (Wednesday).GOOD HOME wanted for a Black Labrador mix ,1 year old He is an energetic ,friendly dog and is good with children looking for a new home as his parents couldn’t keep him for some reason.

We called in ahead and arrived at the villa at about 7:30pm. We were waiting outside the gate and Dada was trying to call the lady of the house from his cell phone but there was no answer. After a few seconds there was very loud barking and emerged this gorgeous handsome boy, tail wagging, excited and sniffing the air trying to find out who was attempting to enter his domain. The barking continued and shortly after his mama came to the gate and invited us in.

We introduced ourselves although Dada knows the lady through some work commitments. Then she introduced us to the ‘energy pack’ that was running around us in circles. His name is Harry. He is a fantastic pub. After sometime he came closer us sniffing away, checking us out and gradually sitting down next to us as we talked. We promised his mama we will call to check when we can come in again to see him and also her human son as he had to approve of us taking Harry.

When we were leaving Dada- a smart alec as he is, left the gate open and out ran Harry. But a great guy that he is came back shortly after his mama called him but not before going into the neighbor’s yard trying to see what mischief he could do.

We came home very excited and talking about Harry all the time. But in the course of our discussion we realized that we were all the while comparing Harry to Lassie. Then the question came are we ready for Harry or are we just trying to fill in the gap that Lassie’s passing has caused. Will it fair to Harry that we are trying to find Lassie rather than taking him for what he is. I could not sleep that night and I am fairy sure nor could Dada.

We thought we will give another day to be sure before we can call Harry’s mama. But we couldn’t make up our mind about Harry. Finally Dada called her in the evening and conveyed his regrets that we couldn’t take on Harry. I am sure she was very sad to hear this. We are so sad about this and feel so terrible. I hope that Harry finds a good home as he is truly a great guy.

Lassie’s passing has been very difficult. I hope we can reconcile our minds and look towards the future. I think we are not ready yet. Harry is so lovable. I don’t know why we couldn’t scoop him up and take him home. It’s so hard to understand.

It’s exactly a month today since I came to the Rainbow- Bridge

Remembering our Beautiful Angel Lassie

The sound of your four paws padding softly down the hall in the still of the night…. The look of excitement as the leash comes out for a walk.... dances with pure glee as you finally see Dada walk through the door…. The inherent trust in your eyes as bright and deep as the starry night shining straight into your soul, knowing you count on me for your well being…even unto death.

It is moments like these that never leave our minds. It is moments like these, along with many more special memories of love and trust that have moved us to feel more love and more compassion than we thought possible. With each special life of pure unconditional love, it is moments like these that live on.

Interesting how we sometimes still think you needed us, when all along it was us who really needed you. Vulnerability sets the stage for magic. And magic it was; was it not? Magic in how you came… to our lives in your own special way, with your own special personality adapted to whatever living situation we were in at the time, coming to share the special blessing of big wide open hearts just for us.


We miss you so much.

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying. You found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,

You were thinking of the many times your hands reached down to me.

I was with you at the shops today. Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "It's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know, that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew...
in the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is over... I smile and watch you yawning
and say "Good-night, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.

Mom and Dada needs HELP

We had been to the BSPCA today and it was a mixed bag of an affair. We have got to know a new pup called Cleo a German shepherd mix female dog. Cleo is a scared, nervous always in a corner kind of girl. Lassie’s Dada and I were volunteering today to walk the dogs and play with them in the play yard.

Cleo had to be carried out to the play yard. She was running around and playing in the other side so we try to get closer to where she was when Cleo saw us she got very scared and went to a corner and didn’t budge. We tried to coax her to play but she won’t. We are so sad for her. Her pen mate Jason (Husky mix) however a super charged boy was running, playing, jumping and loves to be petted. He is truly an adorable pup.

As usual when it was time to put them back Cleo had to be carried back to their pen this time by Dada. When we put her back another girl in the pen just pounce on her held her by the ear and pulled her into the pen and attacked her.OMD! One of the volunteers rushed in and separated them.

Now we are very concerned for Cleo. We need to do something for her but does not have a clue to go about it. Does anyone have any ideas; knows a good website or experience to handle scared pups.

The director of the BSPCA told us that Cleo was about a year old was most probably abused in her life. She usually sits in the far end corner of their pen at the sanctuary (BSPCA) and gives out a scared vibe. When she first arrived at the sanctuary she didn’t even want to eat and play but apparently now she is getting better.

My heart goes out to all these pups at the shelter and hopefully we can do our part by helping at the shelter fostering, sponsoring a pet or maybe adopting one (I wish I could take them all).

On the other hand we spend time with the gorgeous Tillie happy as ever. Now it is getting confusing as more time we spend there at the BSPCA more difficult it is to make up our minds about who is the right one for us and probably needed us the most or we needed the most.

We miss our Beautiful Angel Lassie so much and sometimes when I’m playing or petting one of the pups I just feel Lassie’s presence and her beautiful face and I stop and smile with a teary eye. I wish our baby was there with us.

I remembered last year's St.Patrick's Day mom told me that she is going to buy [ online] a bandana or Collars for 2009.I'm sad that mom is crying when she see all our pals wearing their pretty St.Patrick's day costume,bandana,collar you all look so pretty.

Mom and Dada received my portrait from Terry Stanley today.Mom got very emotional when she saw my painting.She said that Lassie is back.Dada was very quite.I am sure I know why.Mom said that she will go this evening with Dada to buy a nice frame for my portrait.I am so excited to hear that.

Dada gave mom a pleasant surprise this morning...He took a day off from work and took mom to guess where????

Of course to BSPCA ( Bahrain Society for the Protection of Animals) to see the pups there.We had lots of dog food cans which we bought for Lassie so we took these along with us for the shelter.

This was like a drop in the ocean as there are about 120+ dogs there but anywoof something is better than nothing.

Lassie kicks off Week 2 of Dog Days of Painting with her sweet smile and big brown eyes. The background of this study is a metallic gold that really complements her coloring nicely.
I'd like to thank all of you who are following this blog and sending in paintings of your furry kids! I've even heard from people in Australia, Great Britain and Bahrain! The internet has sure made the world a smaller, friendlier place. Devotion to our dogs transcends religion, race, and politics. Maybe our world leaders need to be forced to interact at the dog park once a week!

Eight- days... since Lassie has gone to the Rainbow Bridge

It's now 8 days since Lassie has gone to the Rainbow bridge.We miss her dearly and needless to say these past few days have been very long and most difficult.

But without you my friends,it would have been impossible to get by.
There are moments when life seems hopeless,there are bouts of sorrow,times of anger and frustration.

But inspite of this there is hope and strength.This hope and strength comes from you my dear friends.We THANK YOU all from the bottom of my heart for all your love, affection,understanding and support.I don't know what would I do without you (Dogster)!

Card for you

The Feeling of Emptiness

Dada’s day off and usually sleep in late. Lassie has to wait for us to wake up. She was always a good girl and wait patiently for us. However, sometimes she can’t take it anymore and of course comes in and lick’s dada’s face … those were the days.

Anyways, today was different but for a moment I felt she would come charging through the bedroom door and jump on the bed- but that didn’t happen.My days are usually spent being at the computer ( Dogster) when I am done with chores etc. Nothing appeals to me these days. I have so many things to finish; I have to thank so many friends for their love and support. But I just can’t bring myself to doing anything …I just can’t focus.

We decided we must clean out the fridge and get some fresh groceries. When we are cleaning out the fridge we realized that most of the things in the fridge were for Lassie…more tears and sobbing.

We were at the mall and then went to the hypermarket .we passed the pet section and the heavy feeling returned. We finished with the purchases and were standing in line to checkout. I suddenly realized that the lady in front of us had bought some dog food.Seeing the pedigree cans being rung in didn’t help a bit. Memories started flooding back again and I couldn’t hold it back anymore. Dada tried his best to distract my thoughts so that I could compose myself.

Lisa Smith founder of Canine Liver Disease Foundation (Helping to Heal) has requested that she would like to put up Lassie’s story (Diary entry February 22) and some photos of Lassie in her blog posted on February 26, 2009(Thursday).

We also received some humbling news from our dear pals Rocky andSarge. They informed us that they have made a donation in Lassie’s name to the The Rolling Dog Ranch Animal Sanctuary at Montana. The Rolling Dog Ranch Animal Sanctuary in Montana rescues and shelters disabled doggies and also other animals for life. That was so touching; their kind gesture will never be forgotten.

To help those in need is one of the noblest of deeds that one can do. I truly appreciate you honoring Lassie by helping others in her name. You really have a big heart. May god bless you always. Thank you for being such a great friend.

Our friends are advising us to find a new place to live in. We want to move out but at the same time we don’t want to. Most of Lassie’s memories are in this home. She lived most of her life here and it will be hard to leave. We actually did go out to look at another apartment which was actually quite nice. But we haven’t really made up our minds yet.

Life goes on no matter how hard the journey, we need to take it in our stride ,one day at a time .In the end there is always joy and happiness .

LASSIE'S MEMORIAL - Our Angel

LASSIE'S MEMORIAL - Our Angel at at ❤ DOGGIE CONNECTION ❤

I woke up at 3:30 am Bahrain time ( Feb 26) (GMT +3). It was not like I had slept much. I hadn’t been sleeping much for some time now and after Lassie’s passing sleep was getting increasingly difficult to come by. The most difficult times of the days are when we wake up in the morning and before going to bed at night. You see Lassie was always there to greet us when we woke up. Dada almost always wakes up first and gives Lassie massage (belly rub) and gives her the medicines, then showers and prepares the coffee.

In the meantime Lassie waits outside the room waiting for me to wake up. When I finally wake up and am out of the bedroom, it’s like her world has come alive, her eyes light up and she follows me to check the balcony (weather), I put on the TV, puter and then her most awaited part of our routine the "KITCHEN" to prepare her breakfast "FOOD" and she follows me everywhere but, now it’s just the memories.

Today was different though 3:30 am Bahrain( Feb 26) is 4:30 pm (PST) Feb. 25 Dogster Time. My Dear friends and Admins Maggie and Cody had organized a memorial at Doggie Connection in Honor of Lassie. I lit the candle where Lassie is resting next to my computer table, I can smell the candle and the flower we bought yesterday. I sat in front of the computer screen watching silently and reading with teary eyes all the tributes paid to Lassie.

It was truly overwhelming, the love that was shared, the support that was rendered by all the pups. I am forever grateful to all for everything they said and did to support us in our hour of grief and pain. Although, I was there, I just couldn’t say a word .The heartaches were back again.
I wrote down a note to thank all of you and posted it at the end of the memorial service. At one point Alabaster posted this: Do you think Madz and Dada are here with us? Maggie’s response : Al, I would like to think Madz & Dada are here with us... I can hear myself answered yes! Al …I’m here and lassie too in spirit, oh How I wish I could touch /hold them . Oh, Maggie you are right sweetie.

I didn’t wake up dada as he had to be at work in the morning and I didn’t want him not to be focused during the day. I can only imagine what he is going through. He gives me a lot of support and love, tries his best not to appear weak and down. But I know his heart, sometimes I see him emerging out of the bedroom, red eyed. I know he is grieving and there are times when he can’t take it and just breaks down.

Dada got ready for work and before he could leave, he went to the store and brought in the GULF DAILY NEWS - GDN (our local English newspaper). *We had put in an obituary for Lassie. It was one small way for us to give her tribute and acknowledgment for being such an invaluable part of our lives.The other reason for the newspaper obituary was because it was a newspaper in Kuwait that had brought Lassie into our lives. Lassie was in an newspaper Ad which read-puppies need a loving home. When we reached the address in the ad, there were only two puppies remaining, one was Lassie and the other one was Angel (who was taken home by my brother-in-law)*

I said bye to Dada as he went to work and it was me again alone at home. The loneliness however is merely related to the physical state I guess …Lassie is always present on my mind and heart. I talk to her as if she were there as I always used to do. Everything reminds me of her. Every activity was associated with her sometimes I asked myself is this normal? Am I obsessed with Lassie. Then there is the muffled sobbing or the outright loud crying.

The last few weeks leading up to Sunday February 22, 2009 were not very easy for us here. There were rays of hope intervened with waves of despair. There were hours of joy and countless minutes of heartaches. The road has been very hard but the journey only made possible by the strength, love, compassion and support each and every one of you has given us. You are not just my friends but are my family.

I am immensely humbled by everything you have done for Lassie and for our family. My deepest gratitude goes to The family of Buddy, Maggie and Peanut a.k.a. Stretch and The family of Cody ♥ DC, TJ and Riley ♥ DC who has planned this memorial for my Dearest Darling Angel Lassie.

Welcome Home to our Beautiful Angel Lassie

It was another day but not so different from the day earlier. The heartaches were not getting any better, nor the tears drying up. But life goes on, as it should. One can try to be busy and occupied, but the mind always wonders back to the sweet little companion that has gone away never to return.

Dada got Lassie’s cremains back home at about 4:00pm (GMT+3).The Clinic had put her in a small wooden box .She was home now, not in a way I/we wanted her to be. It was hard to imagine she was in that small little box "To dust Thou shall return".

We headed off to church with her cremains. How ironical, it is Ash Wednesday the other part of the irony was that this was the only time we had actually taken Lassie to Church... when she got her Angel wings.

The thing is that when we returned back from the crematorium last (February 23) the day after her journey to the Rainbow Bridge. Dada and I decided to go to church and asked the priest to say mass for Lassie.

To our surprise the priest said that they don’t say mass for animals. We were dismayed and surprised. Man’s best friend was not recognized by the church. But we know in our hearts that no matter what the church thinks or says, Jesus loves Lassie and all animals big and small.

We know Lassie is with him and the reason for this is that it was he who brought Lassie into our lives in the first place to love us and give us much joy and happiness.

Today Lassie was in the church with us and it was really a special moment. We prayed for her, for us, and for all of you, our friends.

An aching Heart

Dada started work today and I was left alone at home. The moment he stepped out of the house I felt as if my heart is gonna get crushed under some heavy stone someone had placed on my chest. I had no idea how I would spend the next hour on my own let alone the entire day until Dada got back home.

I sat in front of the puter and luckily my good friend Duke’s mom Sandi was online so we got chatting after some time I got an alert from my yahoo mail and to my pleasant surprise I saw that my Lassie is "Dog of the Day" at Dogster.

My emotions were all mixed up. I was happy that Lassie was finally "Dog of the Day", but sad she was not with me to celebrate.* I screamed, cried, laughed and danced while I'm still online with Sandi.

* [I can imagine if she were here now we will be jumping and dancing with joy and of course she will get loads of hugs and treats] *Anyways I called Dada and he came back home just for a minute to celebrate with me. We jumped, kissed and hugged and fondly remembered our sweet Lassie.

The chat with Sandi was over. Yesterday, I spent the whole time cleaning and be occupied then I looked around the house, I realized it was mess. Lassie’s toys, her medicines were resting on top of her "house" dog house. Her bed was on the floor and the sofa still had the pillow and comforter propped up from the night before. There was a repeat of David Letterman show running on the TV.I had absolutely no idea what he was talking about it was as if I was a robot, couldn’t really make sense of anything.

I really didn’t know where to start, should I begin by keeping things in order? Should I do the dishes from last night etc…? I really didn’t know where to begin. Suddenly, I thought that I should prepare Lassie’s food. Then it was like a jolt out of nowhere. I don’t have to prepare her food anymore. The tears started to flow and there was no stopping and my heart started aching again.

I then made myself some coffee and went back to the puter trying to keep myself busy and concentrate on happier time with Lassie. By now the word has gotten around of Lassie’s journey to the Rainbow Bridge. The best wishes and support that was coming in was so overwhelming. Poems, emails, pictures, special gift, pmails just made me smile, sobs, giggles and cried and this was keeping my sanity alive.

Dada made a point to call me at regular intervals to check on me and see how I was doing. He has been my rock in all this. At some point of time in the afternoon he called me to inform me that Lassie’s cremains had arrived back at the vet’s clinic but he won’t be able to get them back home today. I was very sad, not entirely because Dada won’t be getting her cremains home today but because Dada was getting Lassie’s "cremains".

I was disappointed but I know that he was having a lot on his plate at work and I didn’t want to push him. Instead I started looking for an urn which we could order on the net.

My Dear Friends,

It’s a beautiful day in heaven at the rainbow bridge and all the angels are feeling very happy. They have a new companion to play with and of course adore. Lassie crossed over to the rainbow bridge at 12:20pm Dogster time (PST) on February 22, 2009.
I am happy that she is with the angels and Jesus is watching over her as always. I am happy to be Lassie’s mommy as she made me proud even in her very last moment.

We had taken Lassie to the vet in morning yesterday as she was increasingly getting weak and was having trouble walking. She was not eating nor drinking. When we reach the clinic the normal occurrence is that she can’t wait for the car door to be opened. But this day was different. She could barely move. We had to call the nurse to help us carry her into the clinic. The vet advised us to let her go but I guess that was not a very easy decision for us to make.

The vet however agreed to give us a couple of days for observing Lassie and said after that Lassie will be needed to be put to sleep if she doesn’t get better. She administered antibiotics and fluids and said that it would be a good idea for Lassie to be at home. As we were getting out of the vet clinic Lassie saw the black cat that usually hangs around the clinic. She immediately tried to pull on the leash and chase the cat. This was really great in a way because she seemed to be full of energy and vigor.

Back at home Lassie was still not consuming any food or drink and finding it oh so very difficult to walk. Lassie is a fighter and she tried very hard to move around the house, resting at all her favorite spots. But evidently it was taking a great toll on her. But not once did she whimper or cry. She was very uncomfortable, but she didn’t show it. We were positive that she will fight on. At one point she tried to pull on her Dada’s socks but she can't reached it no more. This made me really happy as she was trying to be mischievous and heartbroken.

But come evening nothing really changed much. Lassie’s dada and I decided to take her to the vet in the morning so that she could receive some fluids. Dada tried to administer some meds to Lassie but without any success. Even water was not appealing to Lassie. We decided to pray for her. So we sat beside her on her bed. She hugged me and rested oh so sweetly on my chest. I wish that moment will last forever. I lay her down on her bed and we began to pray asking Jesus for a miracle and also to help Lassie.

In the middle of our prayer Lassie gave out a loud sigh and it was the beginning of the end. She tried to grasp for air, but her long fight had taken its toll on her. Dada immediately called the vet to let her know what was happening, I on the other hand couldn’t control my emotions any more. The tears rolled down and the anxiety increased. In a few moments she was so very quiet and had breathed her very last breath. It was all over. And just like that Lassie was gone from this world. We couldn’t believe it. We refused to believe it. The reality of the whole thing was so intense that it just knocked us off our feet.

A few moments passed and we still hoped for a tail wag or her eyes to open. But that was not to happen. Dada called the vet again to make arrangements for her final journey. We then cleaned her up.
We took Lassie to the vet and left her there so that she could be taken to the crematorium in the morning. She was so peaceful laying there. The last good bye was truly overwhelming.

We kissed her and said our goodbyes. She looked so beautiful; it was as if she was asleep blissfully. This morning we went to the crematorium. The drive seemed very long and never ending. We left her there. It is still so unbelievable. She was so young and had so many more years in her. But Jesus had other plans.

Our baby is gone, our special baby is gone, but she will be forever in our hearts, in our minds and will be part of our soul. In the short time Lassie was with us, she gave us lots of joy, love and happiness. Every part of home, every site outdoors reminds us of her. The emptiness is unbearable but I know with time we will be able to cope with it.

Lassie is blessed and I know that Jesus wanted her with him. I know she is happy with him and some day we will be united again. Lassie was a very bright girl. She knew that it would be hard for us to take the decision to put her down if the time comes, so she gave us the easy way out. She answered the call of Jesus herself and now she is watching over us at the rainbow bridge.

We thank you all for all your love, support, goodwill, prayers, guidance, special gifts, paw-mails, emails, rosettes, angel wings, stars, cards, candles and Lassie’s strolls . Only time and love will help us bear this loss. Lassie will forever be missed and forever in our hearts.

Rest in peace my pretty little Angel.

P.S: Our dear friend Maggie had mailed Lassie’s liver supplement (SAMe) on January 31, 2009. Sadly it arrived to Bahrain only yesterday (Feb 22) and we received it today. Along with the SAMe there was also a special Valentine’s card for us. I really wish Lassie could have been here to sniff the package as she usually does.

MIRACLE for LASSIE

:(( Lassie's health is getting worse and we are devastated.She is not eating,drinking,excessive salivating ( drooling), seizure/head tremors,lethargic,vomiting blood,diarrhea (blood),ascites-abdominal fluid build up is getting bigger,edema in the hind leg,she is yellow again(jaundice).

I try to give her yogurt and water using syringe.she can't stand and walk .doctor had given her some medicine (injections) to feel a little better and IV fluids.Doctor says she will not let her stay in the clinic as she needs to be with us.

I am in tears just trying to put things in words and I can't even find the right words.The doctor had given us 2-3 days to decide. If she feels better and eat then there is a good chance that she can fight the battle.

We love our Dear Lassie.We don't want her to suffer but still I want to hope for some MIRACLE.Dear Lord bless our Lassie and give her one more chance.

Please Pray for a MIRACLE for LASSIE.

:(( OMD! We are really worried,scared and sad for Lassie.She didn't eat a ( full meal )for almost 3 days now yesterday she had half green apple ...Today she just had one small bite of STEAK :-O That's her favorite FOOD and vomited .

:(( Her left hind leg is still swollen (Edema) her face is puffy and nose are very dry. Her tummy is getting bigger (Ascites) She vomited blood with mucuosy and had seizure/head tremors. ::o :(( she can't hardly get up but she is still trying really hard.tomorrow will be in the vets clinic early morning dogter said that lassie will probably stay at the clinic.

We have given her carafate for vomiting and also Furosemide (diuretics) for her tummy fluid build up (ascites).

Lassie’s Health update - ASCITES

We had fixed up an appointment with the vet on Saturday Feb 14 as Lassie’s stomach seemed bulgy. We saw the vet at 3.30 in the afternoon. After her physical examination the vet concluded that it could be due to fluid buildup in her abdomen. She wanted to be sure so she asked us to come back on Monday Feb 16 to do an ultrasound.
Lassie has been very moody with her eating habits and has to be really fussed over to take her meals. We bought her some Milupa baby biscuits and now she wants to eat them all the time. I am not sure if this is a good thing.
Anyways this morning we were back at the vet for the ultrasound. The vet definitely concluded now the presence of fluid (ascites). She even took two samples of the fluid to conduct further tests. The tests that would be conducted are: Cytology, Histopathology & Fluid culture. They will inform us of the findings as and when the results are back. The vet further more added that they might want to do an exploratory surgery or a needle guided biopsy, but want to keep away from that as much as possible considering Lassie’s present condition.
Furthermore the vet prescribed Furosemide 40mg to be taken twice days for 10 days. This is a diuretic which is supposed to help Lassie get rid of the fluids. So Lassie is presently on Furosemide, Amoxiclav, SAMe, Thyroxine, Milk Thistle and Liv.52(herbal liver supplement) on a daily basis.
Last week we had to give Lassie IV fluids (300ml dosage administered twice by injecting it at the back of her neck). I am wondering if this had anything to do with her fluid buildup.
Are there any suggestions or recommendations for Lassie, will appreciate these immensely.

Happy Valentine's Day!

:(( Went to the vet and have my tummy checked and dogter says that there is a Ascites -fluid build up in my tummy but they want to make another ultrasound for my tummy to make sure :? and if I needed a needle guided biopsy or an exploratory surgery :-O as the dogter says that I'm too weak to have surgery.

They mention about diuretics ...whatever that means :? Dogter adviced us to observe for one more day to have my ultrasound.They are concerned about my situation as I'm having one infection to another. :(( I haven't gone for a walk for along time as dogter advice but mom and dada asked my dogter maybe just down our building (compound) so at least I don't feel sad and maybe it will help me.

yesterday I ate but today I didn't feel like eating sometimes mom think that they will just let me eat the food that I will surely love but not good for my health but will make me happy. :c9 (Steak,Lamb chops,fried Chicken,bacon,pizza etc) ::o

I know I know its not good ok sometimes its good to dream about FOOD :c9

Well, mom and dada stayed at home with me they wanted to celebrate as last Feb 8 is there 5 yrs. wedding anniversary but didn't have the chance as mom was admitted in the hospital that day the champagne still in the fridge but then I wasn't feeling good and seizures/head tremor and they didn't feel the need to celebrate for valentines day.


:) They take me out (down our compound for 5-10 mins) oh girl ,I was so happy trying to search for all the cats but I guess they know I'm coming but NO cat :n:

Monday,tomorrow is my appointment for ultrasound and we are scared and worried .we are keeping our paws crossed everything will be fine.we want to thank each and every pup who are praying for me and all the kind words , cards,email,pmail and special gift and rosettes it means a lot to us and all the pups who lit a candle for me we thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

New Update: Lassie's liver profile

We got her HSV for blood culture and she got some infection so they have given anti biotic (Amoxyclav 250 = 750 tabs a day for 10 days).yesterday was the last day.

last Jan. 27 we did a urinary test and still awaiting for the result.She still have v (blood) discharge but it's lighter now. Been to the Vet today for another blood test.We are hoping that the result will be better but again her ALT from 301 last (Jan 8) and now it's gone up ALT 527 (Feb 1)even her BILE ACID from 54 (Jan 8) and now it's gone up BILE ACID 125(Feb 1).

she even lost 1 Lb again and she has been eating at least 6 times a day (small portion).We ask her vet to do a bile acid test but we will have to wait for her next appointment.

Doctor advise us to continue with her SAMe , Milk Thistle ,Duphalac,Protexin soluble.No anti biotic for the meantime.they don't recommend the exploratory surgery and biopsy at this time.

All in all she looks good her lungs,throat(eyes,face,gums,belly) pinkish except for her anal/v still have faint yellow color and the discharge.


We are really confused and worried about Lassie's health today her urine is back to orange in color.we are expecting her to be fine as she looks good now better than the last time when she was jaundice and she lost about 20-25 lbs from Oct-Feb.

Blood Culture

Been to the vet today to check Lassie's ( V ) discharge.Last night I was checking on the about this and most of the symptoms were pointing towards Stump Pyometra.

The vet examined Lassie's ( V-thingy) and even inserted a probe in order to see the inside.She also took a ( V ) swab sample for Blood Culture the results of which will be available only next week.

The vet however kept insisting that it looks more of a Urinary Tract Infection or some infection rather than the Stump Pyometra.

Stump Pyometra would indicate a faulty spaying which would mean the Clinic mess up.I just hope too that it isn't a faulty spaying although I don't prefer it to be an infection either, but in this case it is the lesser evil.

The vet has given Lassie anti biotic ( Amoxyclav 250mg ) to be taken for 10 days.The positive things about the visit to the vet was that Lassie now has gain 1 lb. although it's not much but it's a start.We got her a new toy "Mr Frogy" and she loves it!.

Lassie's Health Update ...

:( After a month on SAMe Lassie's blood work has improved except for her Bile Acid,these have gone up :-k during the past 2 weeks Lassie's has been very sick (on and off ).About 3-4 days ago she had some reddish brown discharge from her V :-# (not sure if I can mention this)

I look up the net about discharge after spaying...:-O and it makes me worry more as reading the net is useful and scary too:? the vet told us that if it happens again then we need to bring her in to run some tests, but thank God! there wasnt any more discharge.:) Also a couple of days ago she has very loose bloody and mucousy stools. the blood was about a Tablespoon and this happened twice in a day :-O:((

Again we consult her vet and she has given Lassie some antibiotics and said it might be because of taking lots of meds and hence there could be some inflamation in her intestines. So now we are awaiting for Lassie to poop.:r and are really praying that there will be no blood and everything is back to normal.

* I got a pmail from Oliver-My Beloved mom's *(Mommy saw the diary of a sweet little dog named Kiki--her Mom is very nice; and Kiki is also having liver problems. I just thought , if you have not met Kiki, you might like to see her page and diary. Sometimes it helps to talk to people who are going through a similar situation and maybe you will have tips for each other.)

I've read KiKi's diary and really glad and it's very informative I try a new diet for Lassie and she likes it =; for now we are hoping and praying that we will get through this and she will be better soon.|:| We are so grateful for all our friends for all the love and support.

Yesterday Lassie started to have a bloody stool (Diarrhea) about a *tablespoon blood and mucous* and again this morning not worried about the diarrhea as she has been constipated and we are giving her meds for constipation she was eating well( no vomiting for 2 days), drinking and playing a bit.today she doesn't even want to get up and she didn't eat I try to feed her she have at least 3 spoon and that's all back to sleep.

( checking in the net is scary and helpful and just so worried for her).

We are going to her vet again and we are praying that they will give us a proper diagnose and treatment for her.



Light a Candle for Lassie Please keep Lassie in your prayers.

Today, I feel a lot better than yesterday.Mom had cooked some chicken and rice for me and I'm looking forward to have this furtastic meal. Yeah right!

On a different note dada brought down the Christmas tree today as they were supposed to do it right after Three kings. I'm already missing it. Hope Christmas comes back soon!

Mom groomed me today, she cut my nails and trimmed the fur on my paws.

My health update

The blood test result was a mixed bag. My thyroid test was normal but my liver enzyme test had it's ups and downs. My Bile Acid activity has aggravated for no apparent reason and that had caused my stomach to go in for a royal toss and hence the vomiting.

I have ear infection and the vet have given me medicine (Surolan drop) and I've lost weight about 5 lbs.I am supposed to go back to the basic boiled chicken and rice diet. The vet said that canned dog food might be a bit too rich for the time being.

The visit to the vet had its perks. For one I got to ride in Dada's car after a long time, mom bought me a squeaky turtle (now my vet is selling some toys too and the last piece) soo excited and the best part was I got to meet a very interesting , handsome and robust chocolate colored Lab. I was too shy to ask his name, but just kept drooling at him and he too refused to jump up in the car with his owner as he too was looking at me.Mom says his name is Chippy . I am feeling so much better now already woof! bol!

Vomiting and Trembling

Well,today I feel fine in the morning now its around 3:00 pm I started vomiting and trembling . I vomited 7 times in a span of one hour and this went on until 10 pm. In that time Dada had given me a couple carafate tablets just to ease my stomach.

The sad part about this that I feel very weak and I can't get to do my most favorite thing in the whole wide world i.e. EATING!Dada said that I can't eat and mom complied hmm, I didn't get to have any say in this matter.

We are supposed to go to my vets next week but Mom has now fixed an appointment with the vet for tomorrow and it was going to be at 3:00 pm. Oh my dog! That means more starving as you see I'm not supposed to be eating for a few hours before a blood test.

Hopefully my SAMe medication is helping me and result will be better for all my Blood work / Ultra sound.Power of the Paw!

Today is indeed very special.My Christmas Bandanna finally arrived.As per the date stamps the shipper ( Ms.Gail) had sent it on November 12 and it arrived in Bahrain on December 20 but the postal service failed to deliver it before Christmas.

We had ordered it early so that mom could also make Christmas card with me wearing my Christmas bandanna but it didn't happen. I guess with the Christmas rush the transit was delayed ...that's what mom says.

but we are still very happy that it finally arrived and mom didn't waste any time to make a pictures of me wearing my new Christmas Bandanna.

As you all can see on my page. I think I look pretty cute...that's what mom think bol! What do you think?

Well Christmas is over and I have some great presents. I am truly touched by the Holiday wishes, pmails,email,cards,picture and Prezzies that brighten up my page and heart for me this Christmas.I am just beyond words and really don't know how to thank you all well enough.
I am grateful for all your love and support,but most importantly it's your friendship that's the important gift of all.

This Christmas was very Special for us as we celebrated it with not only the ones near us, but also with all our special Dogster pals like yourself who although are thousands of miles away, but are with us in our thoughts and prayers.

"This creatures no donkey and clearly no horse!

It's very obvious to me: Rudolph is a pit bull!

Out with the measuring sticks, he explained to Santa the law
And he measured poor Rudolph from shoulder to floor.
As the spectacle continued Santa said with a sigh
He's a reindeer you fool! Why must he die?

"The law is the law" the expert said standing tall,
Then picked up his mobile and made a quick call
The sound of sirens filled the peaceful night air
and Rudolph removed ...to who knew where?

Days turned too weeks and confused and alone
Rudolph pined, for the place he called home
As the first snow started falling Rudolph gave up the fight
And he took his last breath on a cold winters night

You may think this is funny, if a little untrue.
But how would you like it, if it happened to you?
If your dog was taken because of its look...
Because it ticked enough boxes in some silly book?

Regardless of parentage it doesn't matter what breed
If it ticks enough boxes then it's a done deed
So humor me here and pretend this is true
Think how you would feel if it happened to you.

Cuddle your hounds while you have them close by
For some spend this Christmas, waiting to die.
Now back to the story, it doesn't end there

Lassie has gone off her prednisone for at least 2 weeks now .Her SAMe meds sure is working but Keeping food down has been harder for 2 days now so we are a little worried again and it's gonna be Christmas.

Please continue to pray for our Lassie to feel better and we hope and pray that her next ultrasound and blood work will be fine! We really appreciate all your love/ support/email/kind words/cards /rosette and special gifts and prayers from the bottom of our hearts .Thank you all so much!

Finally the wait is over!!!

Today is a joyous day and we are so glad.Guess what pups? yes! you guess it right...SAMe has finally arrived and we have got it! Thanks God!

Although as per the date stamp it had already arrived in December 1 but we received it only today.We have been calling the post office office daily but to no avail.I don't know what the guys are doing there.Anyways it's here now...so no worries.

One more thing we just received our very first Christmas card from our best pal Maggie,BuddyandPeanut. OMD! We just love the card,my Titans scarf ....Go Titans yay! check out my new photos...New Titans model bol! The very special Nashville Tennessee Christmas tree ornament whoa...it's so beautiful.Thank you so much! we love it!

The Christmas Tree

It has been long overdue but the Christmas tree that was standing bare for the last week has finally been decorated with the help of Lassie. The lights are up and so are the mistletoes, bells, candy cane, balls, drums and star.

It was really hard to decorate it because we couldn’t bring ourselves to do so. The feeling is a lot brighter now as Lassie is getting better and with it she brings to our hearts the warm and joy of the Christmas season.

Although the ‘SAMe’ hasn’t reached us yet, she is responding well to the Milk thistle and the other medicine that we are gently forcing down her throat.

We haven’t seen her head Tremor for 2 days now and the strength in her rear legs is coming back although she is not quite there yet. She is eating better no puking and she is playing a bit with her BoBo.

She is getting naughty too and we are so happy to see all her naughtiness. She isn’t there yet, but she sure is on her way.

Thanks to you all for all your prayers,love and support. We are positive that she will make a full recovery.

One more week

Mom and dada are really disappointed and sad that my medicine didn't arrive today.We have to go to my doctor tomorrow to get some medicine/supplement for Liver and just to have me check.

It's Holiday in the Middle East on December 8 [ Eid Al Adha-the Festival of Sacrifice is a religious festival celebrated by Muslims and Druze worldwide]. No work tomorrow for government offices.

We will be waiting for at least one more week.So far I'm eating my food twice a day just small portion so I will not puke. Eating,drinking,pee and poo is good.

I'm still yellow but I'm taking my medicine with a treat [ pill pocket ] woof! so I guess this is good.I'm still having head tremor and my back legs are still weak.

My meds is taking so long and they can't just do anything to help me.Mom had to be awake so she can keep an eye on me specially when i have the episode [Head tremor].

Whoa..what's is going on? My poop is kinda loosy and with blood. Dada left home without having breakfast and went to my vets office to get some medicines.

[ Sucralfate (Carafate®) ] and [ PROTEXIN 250G ]

this coming Saturday is my next vets appointment for my blood work and Ultra sound.

Mom and dada are very worried right now and I haven't been eating much lately I skipped 2 meals and what this means I'm not taking my meds which is mixed with my food.

I didn't eat my kibbles too! We still have at least 6 days for my Liver medicine/supplement to arrive and it's seems like we have been waiting forever.OMD!

Upd ate:

Lassie's medicines should arrive here between 7-10 days. They ship only by USPS and it is the earliest that we could get the supplements. She has been sleeping a lot and I know she is trying to play but I guess she doesn't have much strength.

Yesterday when we spoke to her vet and we are given instructions how to administer meds etc...we got every details and today morning we got a bit confused good thing we don't have to give her meds as we are waiting for her meds to arrive

Maybe , we are both overwhelmed to learned about Lassie's liver problem .We are really really sad and worried. Please pray that Lassie's body will manage 'till her meds arrive.

It is so hard to wait…. We love you all !!!

LIVER PROBLEM

We have taken Lassie to her vet early this morning as Last night we noticed that her eyes and skin are turning yellowish in color and the last time she had her blood work done Lassie has a high liver enzyme.

We have done a couple of test and now its getting higher and higher.
She is on Thyroxine medication for( hyperthyroidism )and now we have to put her on a special diet (liver).

The doctor prescribed this medicine/supplements for Lassie
( S Adenosyl 225 (SAMe) for MEDIUM / LARGE DOGS - 225 mg (60 tabs) and Milk Thistle for Dog Liver Disease).

This medication/supplement is not available here in Bahrain and we are now trying to check if we can get it online. This is so stressing and I guess this is not helping me get better as I'm not feeling well too.

My leg is swollen and my BP is high and my asthma is getting worse and we can't get her meds here and we have check online if they ship to Bahrain and no luck right now. I guess I better check again and again if we can find one.

Please if you know any website that ships to Bahrain and we can trust please do let me know and we really need your prayers for Lassie.

She is so healthy before and now . She is going to have an ultra sound to check her gallbladder.Her urine is orange to Tea like color.

Her water intake is just too much and peeing a lot too! She is constipated.OMD!

The only good thing she eats well and still plays with us but I can see in her eyes that she is suffering inside.

Yesterday when my leg is just suddenly get swollen and I couldn't walk she comes running and giving me lots of kisses .
I know she is trying to comfort me when she needs comforting herself.

The doctor wanted her to be in the hospital and on IV fluid but then she told us that she don't want to stress Lassie out. Lassie is at home now.We are going back after a week for Blood work and Ultra sound.

Lassie is due to get her yearly vaccination next month we informed her doctor and she said that it is not a good thing to have her vaccinated what you think about what the doctor said?

Lassie's dada managed to buy the milk thistle this evening.In the meantime I was searching for
S-Adenosyl 425 (SAMe)for LARGE DOGS - 60 Tabs on the net.

I found a site called www.entirelypets.com so when Lassie's dada came back from work in the evening he placed an order enough for 2 months.Until that arrives we will have to make do with the milk thistle.

The vet is optimistic that lassie will get better.She was even surprised that a part from the yellowness Lassie seems to be in good spirits.Even her coat is bright.She was of course nervous at the vets but did manage to bark at 2 doggies there.

So we are ok for now as far as the meds go. xoxo

My First Loofa (Bobo) toy!

Hi Pals,

Today, Dada came for lunch and was holding something and he opens up a big brown envelope and I jump and played with my first BoBo ever and I'm loving it! yay..to my Dada!!!

Earlier mom had given me one jumbo greenies.What a lucky day for me ...mom posted a video of me playing with my BoBo and eating greenies.

You will see some photos taken by mom...I'm sure she will post those pictures. OMD! That greenies is way expensive here Dada bought it for
(1 pc. jumbo greenies cost 3.00 Bahrain Dinars =8 USD )!

Vet's Appointment Today!

Good morning pal!

OMD!Dada was waiting for us outside our building when we got inside the car then suddenly someone has hit our car (back right side) oh gosh, we got so scared but thankful that we didn't get hurt... there is a slight damaged in the car...Thank God! it could have been worse.


After this incident we went to my vet's clinic for my appointment (blood test) again I am a good girl I let the nurse remove blood sample from my left hand ( now it's a bit swollen)!


Ok,mom forgot to take the camera and dada forgot to take his phone too...oh yeah,what a lucky girl I am (no paparazzi ) today!

see why I'm lucky I have been scooting my rear end on the ground for a couple of days now so ...guess what? They have to express my anal glands and mom kept on saying "oh no I should have video this"...i said what? Are you kidding me, mom?

After that I walked out the door and they were laughing because of my "funny walk"! I barked at them ...this is not funny at all...they Stop laughing and I think they get the picture Crystal clear!!!woof!


We just got a call from my vet's office about my blood test result last time I was Hypo now I am Hyper and I will need to have blood work done after 3 weeks...the Doctor reduced my dosage from 4 tabs a day to 2 tabs a day (Thyroxine)!

About the puking I'm still under observation they don't know what is wrong but if I puke again they will have to check something else oops we forgot what the doctor said.

For now we just keep on praying that the next blood test result will be normal.Have a pawsome weekend ya'll! we love you...DC!

Oh, darn. Drop the bottle. Oh, YES! She’s coming back!
She took off the pieces she puts on her eyes, and I can stand and 'lick, lick' I love you, I love you, I love you, I love ’lick, lick, lick’ you taste so good, salty, sweet, I love that stuff you smear on your face every day, I love to lick it off, oh, oh, and you're rubbing me again!

My back, my head, my ears, oh, oh ’lick, lick, lick’. ”Murble, murble, Mickee, good boy, murble, murble.”

Darn.

I will lay here and watch her. Watch her peel her fur–it’s–not. It is very warm. I don’t know because I don’t think. How does she do that?

And I will get that look on my face that always makes her come and rub me. The look where I roll my eyes up, and keep my head flat here and she will come...and she's putting on her play skin! YES! We will play–sometime. My tail cannot be still. I am SO happy, happy, happy.

Now she’s going in the room with the wonderful water bowl! I LOVE that water bowl – always cool, clean water! She'll be out in just a minute, just a minute, just a.....yes, she's coming! She's here again.

Oh, oh, oh....

Now back to the room with the box that has pictures and sounds. Ah, I know what happens now. Yep, she's laying down on the big pad there. Now she'll sleep. But that’s okay.

She's HOME!

SHE'S home.
She's home.

And she smells tired. So I will lay beside her here and guard her and wait while she sleeps. And when she wakes up she won’t smell so tired. And we'll play and play.

S–i–g–h. I’ll just rest with her now, and smell her while she sleeps.

And wait again. For, the next thing that happens, HE'’LL be home.

I'm feeling better now!

Hi pups

It's been 3 days that I am on my Noroclav (antibiotics) for the infection of my spay surgery incision.

The swelling and redness of my incision is getting better and discharge is totally gone * no more discharge from my incision * We think it's totally under control * paws crossed pups*

I didn't puke for the whole day now... so it's really a good sign after all the shots I get...ohhh..injection!

mom and I still sleep in our living room together...as I'm not really allowed to be in mom and dada's bedroom it's for mom's sake (asthma)! But sometimes I get to go inside whenever.

ohh, we don't have a/c in the living room (short circuit) when you put the a/c on all the light go off .we have been calling the landlord of the flat as our a/c is under warranty but they didn't show up will be sleeping again tonight without a/c ...oh it's hot!

so mom had to sacrifice even if it's hot...she will watch me not to lick and scratch my incision when dada comes back from work it's mom turn to sleep.

This has been going on for the last 2 weeks. We are still praying for my speedy recovery.I'm on my thyroxine for my Hypothyroidism and we still have 2 more weeks to wait for another blood Test.

My doctor wants to be sure about my high liver enzyme /Low cholesterol result.we hope and pray that my upcoming blood test will be good.

It's Monday! update on my incision...

Hugs to all of you.will try and sends out our thank you to all but for now a BIG thank you to all.

mom is not feeling too good for these past week her asthma and she need to have her bloodwork done for her platelet.she got bruises and spot of blood from her nose please pray for my mom too.

we need to get her check but she can't go as nobodys around to take care of me. mom doesn't drive so dada had to go with her too. :?


Anywoof, the redness around my incision is not that red anymore so I guess this is a good sign.Even when I puke I still love to eat...the only thing is I cant do whatever I like no play,no jump,no running,no scratching,no licking ::o so most of the time I'm just napping.

Our place is like a NO zone! POP to all! Hope you all have a great Monday ...ok,not that great as your mom and dad will be back to work but have you guys.

Injection time!

Hi all

We just got back from the clinic they check my incision and they had given an antibiotic tablet and injection for 5 days as I have infection on my incision ( redness and swelling with discharge).


mom will have to give me 1 1/2 tabs of ( Noroclav) twice a day for 5 days.My doctor had left Bahrain for some family emergency (France) she will be back next week.Dr. Jeannie is the one who gave me my Thyroxine meds and my antibiotic tablet ( Noroclav ).

When we got home I puke mom had click a photo of my eek. Mom & dada are so worried why again I puke.I didn't have anything when we go to the clinic.

I'm a brave girl I was not scared of the injection but I'm scared of the curtain when it moves ...eek! oops! shh, don't tell anyone.

Lassie is a 4 year old Lab/Rottweiler mix just got spayed- last Oct.11/08.

after her stitches were remove 2 days ago, we notice that a redness/pinkish around the incision area and little swelling and a liquid discharge clear white mix with a little blood.

last night she puke all her food came as it is and there are creamy color looks like phlegm ...I gave her boiled chicken and rice.She is taking Thyroxine 2 tablet twice a day since the removal of her stitches.

The day of her spay surgery we have asked them to have Lassie tested for thyroid and comprehensive bloodwork. the findings were Lassie had a high liver enzyme ,low cholesterol and Low thyroid function.

The doctor didnt gave us anything for medication and we haven't speak to her doctor even if we made an appointment that day as she was busy.

The one who gave the thyroxine medication is some other doctor from the same clinic.

I'm sorry this is long and we just can't get proper answer from her vet.Thank you.

I'm not feeling well

I'm not feeling good today ...I puke * eek * and my poop is kinda soft *oops sorry* mom is making boiled chicken and rice for my dinner.

I have been napping all day and dada has to go out to finish some work .
oh well I think it's not my day ...I hope you all have a great Friday!

I just finish my dinner (boiled chicken and rice). I hope I will not puke again my food taste funny * I know mom had put something in it...my Thyroxine*eek but I couldn't find it I guess it's in my tummy now bol.

mom try to hide my meds inside the banana then I ate the banana but I remove the tablet ...eek! mom think she is smart shh...shh don't tell her.

Is it normal that I have reddish /pink around my incision area..looks like a rash?

I just pray that I feel better soon...pray for me too!

BYE BYE STITCHES!

Good Morning to all my furiends


We just came from my vet clinic and got my stitches remove...Bye Bye stitches!

Dada had made a video of me while they remove my stitches.mom is trying to upload my video but its says error so I guess we have to wait for Dada to come back from the work.

mom forgot her camera *what? she actually forgot to take the camera with her* When they remove my stitches I got so scared my whole body is trembling but you cannot be able to see it in the video.

mom finally talked to the other vet from the clinic *as usual my vet is not there* We got my medicine for my Thyroid and I have to take 2 tablets twice a day for 3 weeks then we have to go back to have my Thyroid test/Blood work.

Mom asked if it's hereditary as she also have Hypothyroidism...woof! The Doctor was laughing ...oops just joking! bol

My new vet says that my fur coat is normal and it doesn't look like I lost fur she said it's normal to shed.I guess mom and dada are just worried about me.

About the high liver enzyme she told us to wait for another bloodwork to be done to be sure.She is confused because my Hypo should make me gain weight and not lost weight.

Now at least I have my Thyroxine and just pray that everythings gonna be fine and for my coming blood test will just keep my paws crossed for that !

LASSIE IS BACK HOME FROM SURGERY!

We were called to see the vet and we arrived at the clinic at around 4:15pm .Since the appointment was scheduled to be at 4:30pm We decided to wait and discussed what we should ask the vet.

Earlier the clinic had called and mentioned three things about Lassie's comprehensive blood test result :

1. High Liver enzyme function
2. Low Thyroid function
3. Low Cholesterol

This actually got us worried and we surfed the net in order to check causes,reasons for this and this could be rectified.We were very optimistic that in addition to our findings ,the vet would be able to shed more lights in this regard and guide us in the right direction.

Sadly come 4:30 pm we were told that the vet is too busy her assistant who was very helpful by the way reiterated the above findings and told us that there is nothing to worry it's normal he said.This was quite contrary to what we had read.

The assistant mentioned that Lassie lost a lot of blood during surgery.They have given her something for the bleeding to stop (potassium) We will go back on Monday for another blood test and we can get the print out of the blood test result.

This entire ordeal although not very serious has been very disheartening .We wished the doctor would have been more responsive and give us at least 5 mins of her timeso that we could understand better and could get answer to some of the questions we had.

Anyways , Lassie is back home sleeping right now next to me.I'm sure she will be her usual self tomorrow.Thank God! at least the surgery is behind us.Let's hope for the best and better cooperation from the vet on Monday.

I'M A PUMPKIN DOGGIE FOR HALLOWEEN!!!

Today is a great day for mom! Dada came home for lunch with a surprise.
He entered home with a package behind his back. I was jumping in anticipation. Thoughts were racing through my mind,was it pizza or a new toy?

Then I realized mom was getting more and more excited than me...In the package was my Halloween costume.Although I was very excited to see it ( not as much as mom of course) I would have preferred some pizza or a burger.

Any woof, mom is now trying her very best to convince me to wear it. She put it on me once and I am thinking ...I don't need anymore coats.She says I look pretty in my pumpkin costume. I shall let yáll decide.

Vet Appointment - Oct.11 ( Saturday)

:-h Hi all,


Good morning!:) Today,mom called my vet to have an appointment for SPAYING!:-O they said after 2 weeks but then after 5 mins they called and says they are going to do spaying on Saturday Oct.11 at 9 am.

I heard mom saying oh my god! oh my god! oh my god! Oh you make me nervous...::o * see mom is the one who called in the first place now that they set it on Saturday OMD! I think mom is gonna faint* ::o::o::o

Lassie's mom here: Now I'm so nervous and it's just an appointment not the real thing yet my hand is trembling...::o oh please pray that all goes well on Saturday.This is going to be my first experience ...


please let me know anything /advice or whatever.Any woof , spaying will cost us $285-300.

MOM SAYS "I AM A GOOD GIRL"

Today is Friday and it's dada's day off so as usual we sleep in late.I was trying to wake up dada at about 10:00 am when the door bell rang.Dada woke up and opened the door.Well it was the handy man.

He was there to fix the plumbing in the master toilet and put new light bulbs in my Toilet.he finished his work in about an hour and left.Rest of the the day was as a usual Friday.

Late afternoon mom & dada decided to go out to buy somethings from the supermarket.They left me at home and I decided to engage in a well deserved nap.
I drank some water and assumed my favorite spot for a cool nap.I don't know how much time had passed when I heard a crashing sound coming out of my toilet.
OMD! I wonder what that is...*thinking* I decided to investigate.I got up cautiously sniffing the air,two steps front,one step back.

I got closer & closer to the door my heart is pounding .I nudged the door open , OMD!!! the glass cover of the light fixture on the ceiling had come crashing down.
Apparently the handy man had done a lousy job.
There was glass everywhere.Luckily I wasn't in the toilet at that time doing my business...bol!

Ok,so what do I do now? *I think to myself* Will mom & dada think I had something to do with this? Oh don't be silly...I wouldn't reach the ceiling anyways. So, then I decided to warn mom & dada when they get home.

After awhile they are back and I am jumping (of course not as usual) trying to tell mom somethings up. I hear dada tell mom that ( Lassie is behaving differently ).Then when mom goes inside she screams (OH MY GOD!no,no,no)and immediately comes to check me out (she found the broken glass)!Mom & dada checks my mouth,head,body,hands,feet ...etc(paws).
I try to tell mom that I'm fine by giving them lot's of kisses.*mom tells dada that (Lassie is truly a good girl) she didn't try to be nosy and hurt herself, Bless her!
