Arrival Story:
My husband and I were stationed up in Washington state, I was currently in the Air Force and we were newlyweds. I always wanted a dog once we got a place of our own, and he tried convincing me to get a pitbull. At first I was hesitant but I later agreed. I searched online of anyone who needed to find a good home for a pet, and so I happened to find a lady who had found Mia as a 6 week old puppy lost in the rain. She was wanting responsible owners and put us through a phone interview. That weekend in late August we drove 30 miles and went to pick up our baby girl. The second we saw her on the ladys back porch I knew that she was a keeper. 2 years later in Feb 2006 I had returned from an overseas deployment. After a day of shopping I came home and found out that she got lost in the forest while my husband and friends were doing some repelling. I was devastated hearing the news. Day and Night we went driving around the army base looking for her, placed newspaper ads, drove from shelter to shelter. Finally after 2 1/2 weeks we got a call. Someone found our baby girl. To this day we know how much loyalty and love she had for us, to not give up hope that her owners would find her.

Mia has a very calm temperment, unless the door rings or we have company over. She is very loyal my husband and I so she can be jealous if our other dog is getting the attention from either of us or our friends. So she sometimes demands that she gets the attention. It's very cute but sometimes annoying when your trying to watch t.v. I would like to get her into weight pulling simply because every time I take her for walk, she always tries to walk me instead of me walking her.
