Family Day

We have a new holiday in BC this year called "Family Day". Mom had it off so we went for a super fun and action packed walk in the woods.
First thing that happened is that I was so excited to get going, that I didn't wait for Mom to finish setting up my ramp and started walking on it while she was still holding it. She couldn't hold it, and the edge of it fell on her toes, and I fell off it too! She made me go back in the truck and wait for her come ahead this time. (I think the ramp sustained some damage that Mom will have to fix later.)
Anyhow, while Mom was putting on her YakTraxs (things that help her walk on the ice) a guy on a mountain bicycle went by! He was riding on a super icy trail in below freezing weather. It was odd. He was shocked to see me and kind of scared. Mom had a hold of me but I wouldn't have bothered with him anyway.
Then, before we got going, two hikers went by. Mom checked to make sure they didn't have a dog. She held me anyway as the people were scared of me. I barely looked at them.
Then, finally, we got going on our walk. It was super fun and I was in a very frisky mood. I went into the deep snow to check things out. It is hard for me to walk in deep snow now, but not today! I even ran just for fun!!! And picked up sticks for Mom to throw for me.
We went for quite a while and even off the trail just to explore.
On the way back, just before we got to my truck, there was an older couple driving their truck with a dog running behind them. Mom grabbed me by the collar so I wouldn't get in trouble. The dog came for a sniff but changed its mind and decided it was wiser to keep on going.
Finally, we got back to the truck all tuckered out and exhilarated.
I think I like "Family Day"! Thank you premier Clark!

We were just getting ready to pmail you Lobo to see how you are doing but it sounds like a marvelous day for you and mom! Try to wait for the ramp next time dude so you and mom don't get hurt or the ramp either!

Hi Sophie.
I've had days where I so not want to go up the stairs. The last few were like that. So today was a big surprise for Mom and me! And I had never done that trick with the ramp before. Hee hee! It kind of backfired when I fell off of it.
Mom is just feeling so fortunate that I did not take a bad turn while she was struggling with her own health. And, we have had a very mild winter.
Everything was just perfect for us today. We were both feeling good.

We have Family Day in Saskatchewan also Lobo. Our Family Day is in 2 weeks. My daddy has to leave to work in Mexico again today, and he won't be back for Family Day, but mom and I will have a good day. We have not had a mild winter and are sure looking forward to spring. Glad you weren't hurt when the ramp fell and it sounds like you had a pawsome Family Day with your mom!

Hi Buddy!
Our family in P.A. have sure been telling us about the snow and cold in Saskatchewan.
We had quite a bit of snow but hardly any real cold or windy weather.
We wish they would have put our family day on the same day as yours.
