If I had written this entry yesterday when I first read the news of Dogster closing, it would have gone something like: Boo hhoo hoo hoo hoo! I was so terribly sad! Dogster has been a part of my life - and many of our lives- daily for years.
I first joined Dogster when Geordie was a puppy so that I could learn even more about training my very difficult puppy. I didn't realize at the time how many wonderful, long term friends I would meet while I was here. Dogster, you have helped many of us who live is rural areas and who are housebound with health issues make friends where we otherwise might not have been able to. My experiences here have all been good, and I guess that is why I am especially sad now that we must part.
I was glad to read that I wasn't the only one crying last night (even though I was sad that you all were sad too!) Geordie was in a different room than I was when I read the news, but he must have sensed something was wrong because he came knocking at the door and did this peculiar thing he does when I am either sad or my blood sugar is too low. He sat in front of me, stuck out his lower teeth, and stared at my eyes. He wouldn't let me move past him until he seemed sure I was OK. He even suffered a few hugs from me. Of course, after this display of affection, he started running around, full tilt, trying to get into trouble. That seems to be his way of cheering me up ever since he was a puppy. He acts so awful that I can't help but laugh at him!
Post after post that I read asks, "What will we do now?" Well, I have been looking around at other social sites where we may hang our leashes and continue to hang out. A site that I have found that resembles Dogster in a lot of ways is PetBrags. http://www.petbrags.com/ For those of use who are uncomfortable on FaceBook, this might be a good match for us. There are other sites as well. As I continue to explore, I can make additional diary entries about what I find.
Don't worry, everyone. Things are going to be OK, and we are going to like our new home!

I hope you are right! We don't want to give up our furiends. Thanks for being a great scout! We've been looking but didn't find what you had found. We'll check out the site.
Guess we know why nothing is being fixed.
We would feel for the Catster/Dogster people but they knew this would happen!
Mommy thinks she's almost done crying! PetBrags is a site that's being looked at pretty seriously. In the All Paws Bulletin group some furs are going through all the possibilities. We're hoping they will sniff out the pawfect place fur us all to hang our leashes (I like that!). Meanwhile, we're just hanging on and keeping up, and not joining anything or starting anything until we know where the community will end up. If you want to be sure to keep in touch, pawmail me with your mommy's e-mail address, we'll send you ours!
Just wanted to let you know that Fizzy's momma has started a website/forum. It is free to join. The website is:
