FEMA is coming to their property to look things over at 5 p.m. Please pray that FEMA can help in someway.
Either temporary housing or help with the replacement of their home.
Bill is going through the debris with his hands.
(manually) When Jim and I had our tornado we had tractors to load the debris on and take it away.
Shawna's people who deliver her oxygen, said, she has to go to Freeman Hospital and have a breathing treatment.
They suspect she inhaled insulation and other debris.
Her bark and coughing is much worse this morning.
She found a pair of summer white shoes for church covered in something all red and black.
She soaked them in clorox and laundry soap and scrubbed them up.
She will be able to wear them.
2 simple dresses bought just before Easter (as she has been losing weight) were found.
She soaked them and they will be wearable.
When evening comes she washes out clothing in the sink.
Still no power.
Have City water to be able to wash themselves off.
Hand wash a few pieces of clothes.
They are overwhelmed by the support from here...They thank all of you.
They are relieved they will be able to treat the puppers for the fleas/ticks for a short time.
One less thing to worry about.
Candles and all kinds of batteries C and D mostly are a real need.
No power so many people need batteries and candles, they are harder to find everyday, even to purchase in a store.
More and more places to go and have a meal are set up each day. Now the time waiting for something to eat, doesn't take so long. The endless appts. and paperwork to fill out, go here and there to see what can be done, fills alot of the day.
Around that they try and dig in the debris, looking for scraps of anything they can save.
A small handful of old pictures were found.
Most stuff like that, has been so water logged you can not identify the items at all.
The TEARS keep coming with each trip to try and find something...Bill said," he can feel our prayers and he felt stronger yesterday.
Shawna, thanks everyone for all their prayers, thoughts and love shown to them."
This will be a long, long road back to anything that seems normal.....
Our house appreciates every single Fur that has pmailed, left a message, reached out in anyway to help the Kirk Puppers.
Assist in the Christian Dogs and Cats Group.
Trying to be a go between, the Kirks and dogster/catster furs is a challenge....God is making these connections and the HOPE fills our hearts with true joy.
There are not enough thank yous in the whole world, for all the efforts in the group to keep things going along!!!!
Our Hubby can't even boot a PC...but, despite his fieldwork, he comes back after caring for the cattle in the morning.
Takes Mazy for a romp on the open prairie.
The rest of the day, she does office work here, giving me about 4" of the chair.
We pop in and out of her frontyard that is fenced.
Coyotes were very close to our house last night before bed. This is why she is never outside by herself.
Be back with new information as we have it....
May God Protect and Keep Each One of You Safe,
Mazy and Gma Keda
Please crosspost to other areas....Thank you from the bottom of our hearts

4507 West 26th. Place
If you'd like to mail a card to Shawna you can use this address.
Just spoke to them again. They did away with the permits to be able to go on your property. They were there a little while today. They were able to file a total loss on their home. Able to get me the information, I needed. Right now Bill doesn't have work to report too. Some people from work came and helped dig around in the debris.
They are exhausted and will try and connect with Red Cross and FEMA tomorrow. The situation is still totally overwhelming. Hopefully tonight it will not storm and they will get some rest. Shawna's parents home was spared and isn't damaged.
God Bless All Of You,

We have new information on Bill,Shawna and the Kirk Puppers. Yesterday cell phones couldn't receive signals. They were able to call me this morning. They are still staying at Bill's sisters.
They do not know for how long. Shawna found her parents and they are o.k. Her sister was a patient in St. Johns Hospital which was hit. She has been extremely ill for this past year. Air-vac took her to Springfield.
She has been put on a ventalator and is in critical condition. As far as they know, her sister's family is o.k.
Shawna had her medicine in a steel lock box. So she has medication for a short time. They still have no power. Bill's sister has an MP3 player so they can hear the AM/FM radio. Communications in the area are very poor. We gave them the information about contacting FEMA for assistance. They had not heard this information given on the radio.
Very difficult to get around due to debris. They found out they have to get a permit to go into the debris of their house and look around. I told them Red Cross is in the area, along with FEMA should be able to help with some of the many needs. They just have to try and get to those locations. They do have Bill's work truck. Bill is praying he will be called back to work soon. He works for Dish TV. Who knows how long it will be?
I made alot of phone calls yesterday gathering information. I gave them a name of a bank in Joplin, that is up and running. A contact person to help them. They have to go there and set up an account. My husband and I want to wire them some money. So they can buy what they need to survive.
Shawna said, she didn't have any food for the furs. I'm sure they were sharing whatever they had with them. They will call me back when they have the information I need to wire that bank.
We are praying they can open this account, find and connect with FEMA, Red Cross Services and acquire the permit to access their property.
Praying they can get through the debris to find all these locations.
They are running the normal emotions of this kind of disaster. Grateful to be alive....Then comes disbelief,shock,numbness,depression... Then what do, I do 1st.? Then try and pick yourself up, start putting your life back together. Trying to get around there is very difficult. Looks like a war zone.
Shawna is overwhelmed and having nightmares. All things considered, I think she is holding it together. She ask me the date, today? She remembered it is Lucy's 8th. Birthday...
Bill and Shawna thank you for all your prayers. She thanks you for keeping the group going. I told her, we will all be here waiting when she can return. She wants all of you to know how much she loves you.
Keep holding them in prayer for strength and courage to face the days that lay ahead of them.
Let us pray, out of this massive destruction across our nation, God will strengthen His Sheep and increase our faith.
48 Tornadoes were reported yesterday across our country.16 people were killed in yesterdays tornadoes. CNN just announced the weather pattern is the same for today. Please stay alert, watch your weather and be prepared.
May God Protect You and Keep You Safe,
Mazy,Baby,Precious,Angel Foxie and Gma K.

The Save Lennox Campaign is starting a new u-tube Campaign(please join us)
TELL ALL YOUR DOGSTER FRIENDS ABOUT THIS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
CROSSPOST THIS IN YOUR GROUPs
PUT IT IN YOUR DIARY ENTRY AND EMAIL IT TO YOUR FRIENDS....
LENNOX IS COUNTING ON US GUYS!!!!
The Save Lennox Campaign is growing bigger and stronger each and everyday and in doing so the Friends and Supporters around the globe are not only spreading the word about Lennox but also helping to raise awareness of many other BSL victims around the world, it is for this reason we ask all of the Save Lennox Campaign Supporters to help take this campaign to another level.
We are currently working on a new campaign video and would like to feature as many as possible of Lennox’s Friends and Supporters from around the world in the new campaign video.
If you would like to be featured then here is what we are asking: We would be very grateful if everyone could send a picture.
In the picture we would like everyone to clearly show the three words;
This Is Wrong!
The three words can be followed by your location or a personal message if you wish.
This is everyone’s chance to get creative, you can display the words in your picture made up from dog food cans, pasta, sand, paint or people standing in a group to form the words, it really doesn’t matter, all we ask is that you enjoy yourselves doing so, realise this is not just for Lennox but all victims of BSL, and that you are as creative as possible, although a simple written or painted message on a length of paper is fine.
You can have as many people or pets in the picture as you wish, the more involved, the better.
We have setup a special email address for everyone to send their pictures to which is at the end of this message.
Again thank you to everyone, everywhere for what you all have done so far and continue to do to help us Save Lennox and raise awareness of the evil law known as BSL.
Send your pictures to:

I'm sorry you are frightened of my dogs and are trying to have them killed because they are pit bulls.
I'm sorry you lack the understanding of this breed's true history, gentleness with people, wonderful temperament, intelligence and behavioral conformation.
I'm sorry you won't read the ATTS stats regarding our breed's true temperament, putting it in the top four for temperament, scoring better than breeds like Golden Retrievers, and cocker spaniels.
I'm sorry that you side with and protect animal abusers by marking the breed of dog, and not the irresponsibility of the owner. I'm sorry that by your logic I could steal a car, run some people over with it and then you can blame the make of car for the accident, as I walk free.
I'm sorry you generalize one breed of dog with one group of people.
I'm sorry you can't see the love and determination that many often highly educated, non-criminal and "normal" types of people show towards this breed and the great personal sacrifices that they make to take care of their dog responsibly.
I'm sorry you cannot go into the shelters and see the hundreds of abandoned and abused pit bulls, dying only for the insane "crime" of being born the breed they are.
I'm sorry you cannot see the look of disappointment in their eyes as someone walks by their kennel, and refuses to consider adopting them based on an ill educated fear mongering reporter.
I'm sorry that you cannot be there when the animal looks at a human for the last time, and in spite of betrayed by all humans they have met, their tail still wags as someone approaches with the syringe of Euthinol.
I'm sorry you cannot be there when law enforcement shoots one of your dogs dead
inside it's own home in front of the children it mutually loves for simply getting off the dog bed and walking over to say hello with it's tail
I'm sorry you cannot be there to rescue pit bull puppies from a plastic bag in a dumpster, dumped there by someone switching their illegal, and inhumane activities to another, more lucrative breed.
I'm sorry you cannot understand the difference between canine and human aggression, in the way that this breed can.
Yes, I'm saying my pit bull is smarter then you.
I'm sorry that the medieval witch-hunting genetics of intolerance, generalization, and racism make you feel the need to vilify a breed of dog.
I'm sorry that justice, equality, tolerance, common sense are all things you hold dear as a fellow human being, and expect from others, but do not yourself offer them towards a pit bull or its caregiver.
I'm sorry that you don't take the constructive time to petition changes in the animal cruelty act, and in the criminal code that would deal out serious punishment to the real animal abusers.
I'm sorry you cannot see the disappointed look on a puppy's face when the people petting it quickly frown, and walk away when you tell them it is a pit bull.
I'm sorry you feel the need to terrorize my family and my dogs for crimes we never have and never will commit.
I'm sorry you don't have to live in fear of your dog's safety from hysterical, and mentally unstable people trying to inflict all manner of evil upon your dogs.
I'm sorry that you cannot see my breed working in some of the best Search and Rescue groups in the world, saving countless lives each year.
I'm sorry our media censors and refuses to print the breed name "pit bull' when in connection with a positive act such as saving a person or child from a burning house, drowning, wild attacking animals, etc.
I'm sorry you cannot see the many pit bulls registered as therapy dogs and bringing so much joy to another misunderstood, neglected demographic in our society, the senior
I am sorry you can't see a pit bull kiss a child, step carefully over a kitten, or play in a sunbeam.
I'm sorry you cannot wake in the morning to
feel a warm pit bull cuddled next to you in bed, and know that you are their total world, and even if the house caught fire and trapped you, they would stay with you to the end.
But, now that I really think about it, I'm not at all sorry you don't own a pit bull--you do not deserve one.

Anti-BSL campaigners involved with the ‘Saving Bruce’ campaign are questioning how an Amendment removing the mandatory destruction for dogs found guilty of being a ‘pit bull type’ in Northern Ireland has been in force for EIGHT YEARS despite widespread belief to the contrary.
DDA Watch, Endangered Dogs Defence & Rescue and the Bull Breed Advisory Service contacted UK Barrister Pamela Rose and worked together for days [the reasons for this are set out below] researching the legal situation for dogs found to be ‘pit bull type’ by the courts in Northern Ireland. It was known that an Amendment cited as the Dogs (Amendment) Act (Northern Ireland) 2001 was in existence but it is unclear and still a mystery why it appears no one had picked up on the details of all sections and is a situation which will no doubt have
On Friday. 17th July 2009, written confirmation was received from the Animal Identification, Legislation and Welfare Branch at the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) who confirmed that all sections of the Amendment came into operation on the expiration of two months from the date of Royal Assent which was 29th January 2001, on the same day, Barrister Pamela Rose also received confirmation from the Statute Law Database.
However confusion over the potential existence of an exemption scheme seems to be spread as far as MLP’s within the Northern Ireland Assembly who were responsible for bringing in the Amendment in 2001. As an example:
In 2007 Trevor Lunn, Alliance MLP, called for review of the legislation believing that mandatory destruction remained the sole option for courts.
When asked in September of 2008 if, as minister for Northern Irelands Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, Ms Gildernew would shift emphasis from destruction of dogs to penalties for owners in future legislation Ms Gildernew replied stating: “The control of dogs, including dangerous dogs, is regulated under the Dogs (NI) Order 1983, as amended by the Dangerous Dogs (NI) Order 1991. The Order designates certain types of dogs of which it is an offence to be in possession, such as the pit bull terrier. Local Councils are responsible for enforcing this legislation and may seize any dog that appears to be of a banned type. Such dogs are destroyed unless their owner can prove that they are not of a banned type.” http://www.niassembly.gov.uk/qanda/2007mandate/writtenans/20 08/080926.htm However the Amendment does not demand destruction.
In January 2007, six years after the Amendment came into force, Ballymena council held the first “pit bull Amnesty” in Northern Ireland lasting for four weeks and resulting in the death of 15 dogs. Antrim’s Borough dog warden commented on the proposed amnesty and was quoted in the media saying: “The first thing you need to be aware of is that the amendment to the Dangerous Dogs Act, which allows pit bull “type” dogs to be registered and rehomed, does not apply in northern Ireland.”
The Guardian newspaper article on the (then) proposed amnesty stated in 2006: “Northern Ireland’s dangerous dogs order is slightly different from the law in England: the regulations are enforced by council dog wardens rather than the police and magistrates do not have any discretion to stop a pit bull being put down.”
The North Down Council web site refers to the legislation stating: “The law bans the ownership, breeding, sale and exchange, and advertising for sale of specified types of fighting dogs.”
Yet again there is no mention of any Amendment, which enables a court to make an order under the exemption scheme as an alternative to destruction.
To further confuse the DARD website does not state the potential for dogs to escape destruction nor do any of the Northern Ireland council websites checked by the campaigners over the last few days. It is because of this that a response and confirmation was sought from ‘OPSI’ and from DARD.
Questions must be asked as to whether Northern Ireland council dog wardens, charged with enforcing “dangerous dogs legislation” and Northern Ireland Ministers and MLPs who create the legislation that governs their country are aware of the removal of mandatory destruction and why no steps appear to have been taken to correct the incorrect view that an amendment was not in existence?
Background Information on Northern Ireland Dangerous Dogs Laws:
The Dogs (Northern Ireland) Order 1983 was amended by the Dangerous Dogs (Northern Ireland) Order in 1991; this was the NI equivalent of the Dangerous Dogs Act (DDA) 1991 which was introduced in Great Britain. Both pieces of legislation contained breed specific elements and prohibited the ownership of four types of dog mainly the ‘type of dog known as a pit bull terrier’ unless exempted within a specified time frame after which all dogs of the designated type which had not been fully exempted were ordered destroyed by the courts.
Under the DDA of 1991 owners were given a short space of time to register their dogs, the Dangerous Dogs Compensation and Exemption Schemes Order 1991 laid out the ‘rules’ under which a dog could be exempted and thus allowed to live out the remainder of its life providing that the terms of exemption were adhered to.
In Northern Ireland at the same time, a statutory rule was passed; the Dangerous Dogs Compensation and Exemption Schemes Order (Northern Ireland) 1991 (SR No. 466), it too laid out the procedure under which owners could exempt their dogs within a set time frame.
Both pieces of legislation were draconian is than any dog found to be of pit bull type and not fully exempted by the deadline dates given was ordered by the court to be destroyed-there was no discretion available when sentencing leading to the destruction of many family pets.
In 1997 GB passed the Dangerous Dogs (Amendment) Act and discretion when sentencing was given to the court, this enabled dogs found to be of a prohibited type to be ordered registered onto the Index of Exempted Dogs if the court was satisfied that the dog would not constitute a danger to public safety. The 1997 Dangerous Dogs Amendment was not extended to Northern Ireland.
The campaigners researched back through the Northern Ireland Assembly minutes to 1999 and then dissected all sections of the NI Amendment legislation of 2001 according to the information available. Barrister Pamela Rose confirmed that after studying the Amendment Act, together with the minutes of the NI Assembly and the annotated statute from the OPSI website, that discretionary powers were indeed available-meaning that the mandatory death sentence for prohibited dogs had been removed.
It was thought possible that not all section of the Amendment has been passed at the same time. According to the NI Assembly the Amendment Bill has received its first reading on the 5th June 2000 and progressed through another six stages before being given Royal Assent on the 29th January 2001. To be sure, all stages were researched to detect if any sections hadn’t been enacted and the statutory status of each piece was rigorously checked.
In GB the Amendment of 1997 refers to the ‘Dangerous Dogs Compensation and Exemption Schemes Order 1991’ which can be accessed online and lays out the procedure for exemption (registration onto the Index of Exempted Dogs).
The NI Amendment of 2001 refers to a similar scheme defined in Statutory Rule 466. Quote:
“(2) Where an order is made under sub-paragraph (a) of Article 25C(3), Part III of the Dangerous Dogs Compensation and Exemption Schemes Order (Northern Ireland) 1991 (SR No. 466) shall have effect as if—“
Statutory Rule 466 is thought to be an important piece in the jigsaw as it is expected to describe the legal process by which owners must follow to save the life of their dog when an order is made by the court as an alternative to destruction.
Campaigners have painstakingly searched for the elusive document but the actual statutory rule could not be found online, which was rather strange and extremely frustrating. There were several references to it, and so it had to exist. Research was not helped by the fact that the Northern Ireland assembly suspended for four years between 2002 and 2007 and power reverted to the Northern Ireland Office, the NI Assembly was reinstated in May 2007.
Statutory Rules NI dating back to 1991 can be found online, but the SR 466 1991 is not listed. It is has taken time to locate it and it’s hoped to shed further light on who is responsible for running the exemption scheme helping to clarify a most complex and puzzling situation which directly affects the life and death of innocent pet dogs like Bruce in Northern Ireland.
