Arrival Story:
When Beaumont passed away we were just heart broken, (still are). We were going to rescue an airedale, but there were none around close that would fit into our home with kids and other pets.

We picked Max up at the breaders the weekend before my 51 birthday. He was my birthday baby. Max is a joy to be around and I am sure he will be a super guy like Beaumont was.

Mom and Dad are really sad today because my time was up here on earth. Sometime during the night (I don't know because I was sleeping) my time here expired and when I woke up I was in this really beautiful place and Skye was standing there waiting for me. I didn't even get to say goodbye to Mom and Dad and my brothers and humans so that is a bummer, but Skye is really glad to see me and we are going for a good walkabout as he shows me around this place.
I just wanted to say I love you Mom and Dad and I will miss you and I know you are missing me too.

My Hard Luck Summer

It’s almost my 2nd birthday and I am looking forward to that. I hope it changes my luck some, cuz I have had a really hard luck summer…It all started this spring when Dad found a Tick on my back. Well he removed that one only to find two more in the next couple of days. We got all of those taken care of and I was fine. Well just last month I got a sore foot and dad had to take me to see the Vet lady. Well I had a piece of cheat grass that had stuck between my toes and had made an abcess there. She operated on me and took it out and I had to take yucky pills for a week. Then just a couple of weeks later I got sick and had the runs. Well dad had to clean me up from that mess while mom was cleaning up the mess I made in the house. Well when dad was cleaning up my rear end, he found another big sore spot right below my tail. Back to the vet lady I went and another piece of cheat grass and abcess there… Owwie…well two vet bills totaling about $750.00 Dad decided to burn the lower field and get rid of all the cheat grass he could. Then another sore foot, and mom found two thorns (Goat Heads) in my foot. Dad took them out and I was better…Then Skye and I were going to go to the groomer to get a nice hair cut before school starts, Our appointment was last Saturday while dad was gone so mom was going to take us… Well Friday night I wanted to stay outside so mom lets me do this…about midnight she wakes up to me barking and a BIG SMELL…. I met a skunk…. Oh No… Well he hosed me down…The Groomer lady (Pood’s mom) took me in anyway and she gave me a really nice hair cut and a bath with some special stink killer stuff that the vets use…I look really nice, but you can still smell the skunk….

I sure hope my luck changes soon…

Our great adventure, told by Skye, I'm too sore and tired.

Today Max and I did something bad. Mom left the gate ajar for jus a little bit, and we found it, so we went "Walkabout". Max won't listen to dad or mom callin when he is adventureing. So I followed him. Mom and Dad found we were missing about 10 mintues after we left, and started looking. We live on a canyon and we like to explore it a lot, so dad walked down the bottom all the way up the draw. No Max or Skye. Mom drove around to the top of the hill but didn't see us either. They looked and looked for bout an hour when mom went back home and there was a message on the machine. A lady found us over 2 miles from home... She called cux we carry our phone numbers on our tags. Well before dad could get there we left again. this time we split up. Max took off before me, and I was trying to find my way back toward home. Dad drove around more and more then the nice lady called back. She had herd a dog in trouble, and found Max floating down the canal behind her house. He was trying to get out, but the sides were concrete. The nice lady drug Max out of the canal and chained him to a tree and called dad again. Well dad came right over and dere he was. Meanwhile I was wif a nice couple jus a couple of blocks away. Dey called while dad was getting Max so he jumped in da car and came and gots me too. We are bof home now and very tired. This happended this morning so dad and mom did not get to leave for da boat. Max is very sore from his adventure in the canal. We are lucky nice people helped us, and let dis be a lesson to all you pups out dere. Carry yer phone number wif you at all times. We are chipped too.

Skye the lucky
