Fire Alarm

During Time Change my people forgot to change the battery in the smoke detectors and so one of the alarms ran low Saturday afternoon while they had friends over to watch the basketball games. Every few minutes the alarm would chirp but it was in a different part of the house and they couldn't hear it. I on the other hand have super sensitive hunting hearing and the noise was very scary. I kept trying to run as far from the house as I could and my people couldn't understand why I was hiding in the back yard. After some cojoling I came upstairs and cuddled with my girl but I was shaking like a leaf and she still couldn't figure out what the matter was. Finally people began to hear the chirping and my boy took the battery out and I was able to relax and enjoy the end of the game. Hopefully they will replace the battery today to keep me safe...

Let me out!

This morning I had to pee really bad. I didn't want to wake my girl or boy up because they would just hold me down till I went back to sleep. So instead I ran downstairs and peed on the carpet. I made sure to pee on the carpet because if I peed on the wood floor my girl would see it and she would be angry. Boy am I a smart dog!

After I was done peeing, I ran back to bed and jumped on my girl with wet paws. She was very angry. She took me downstairs and I had to show her where the pee was. She told me that I am a grown up (7yr old) and I shouldn't do that anymore. She locked me in my cage while she went back to sleep with my boy. I did not like that one bit and I barked (as much as I can since I was debarked) and was very sad not to be cuddled up with my people. My boy didn't even come rescue me! My girl must have been very upset with me.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can stop peeing on the floor? I don't want to wear a diaper at night as that would look silly on a grown dog but I don't want to have to sleep in the cage again. I promise I will try harder!
