I became a guide dog angel two years ago today. I will always be a superstar in my Mom's eyes.

Love,
Hildy Jean

My birthday is Nov 16th. Isn't it fitting that Magnolia will be arriving on my birthday? Mom will be burying her head in Magnolias fur to dry her tears because she will miss me so much on my birthday. I would be three years old. Mom is so sad I was taken so soon. Thank you Dogster for keeping my memory alive.
Love, Hildy

My sister Island will graduate as a guide dog on Saturday Nov 8th. I have been her guide dog guardian angel all during her training. She will graduate one week before my birthday. I am so happy for her! She was so little when I passed away, just four months old! She is so grown up. I am so proud of her!

Love, Hildy Jean

Thank you Kelly from the bottom of my heart

Written by Mom. This is for my daughter Kelly who did the sweetest thing for me. Today in the mail I got something I had no idea was coming. A beautiful certificate arrived from Best Friends Animal Society. One of my favorite charities. In it was a certificate saying that Hildy was remembered in the April Angels Rest section on the website and it will remain there permanently. I already framed the certificate, and included a picture of my Hildy who I miss to this day. This is one of the nicest things anyone has done for me. It helps to know that other people understand the love I had for Hildy Jean. It is a beautiful gift and I will cherish it forever. Love, Mom
PS: Hildy, It looks like I am not the only one who will make sure you are not forgotten!

Here is the link to Hildy's memorial. Go to o4/08. Just look for Hildy Jean Marie.

My brick

Mom finally got to see and touch my brick in person at Guiding Eyes For The Blind. It is at the start of a lovely path with flowers, trees, and a stream, and even a gazebo. A very peaceful setting. Getting that brick was such a nice gesture on my GEB trainers part, and seeing it in person was a thrill for Mom. My memory will live on and on, just as Mom would always want it to. Love, Hildy

My sister Island

Mom hasn't got the "official report" yet, but someone has been sending her secret updates on Island. So far she is doing a nice job in her training. She has a room mate named Ellie, and they get along just great. Mom said it is nice to see Island looking so well adjusted. You see, I have been watching over her because I am her Guardian Angel! Mom is so proud of Island, and so happy that she has me to watch over her and guide her in her training. I know my Mom still thinks of me all the time, and misses me. She will always love me, just like she does Island.

I will be Island's Guardian Angel

Island will be leaving in just a week, May 17th, for Guide Dog School. It is an emotional time for Mom. She is very proud, and excited for Island, but will miss her very much. She needs someone to watch over her while she is at the guide school training. Who would be better than me! I will be Island's Official Guardian Angel and will make sure she is safe.

For our friend MICA

Help a good friend of ours. It's so easy!
Would you like to help? If so, it couldn't be simpler!
Our good friend Angel Mica died of a horrible blood disease called IMHA. Even though MICA is now an Angel, her legacy lives on.

IMHA stands for Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia.

This disease may not be well known, but it is the LEADING BLOOD DISEASE in both dogs and cats . We are trying to get the word out about this to help others. So, PLEASE, help if you can. Something so simple as clicking your mouse, may help another pet not to have to suffer like MICA did.

Here’s how easy it is to help:
You can become a Dogster Pal and corral MICA and her pack.

MICA http://www.dogster.com/dogs/504880

MIRRA http://www.dogster.com/dogs/581776

TPGOO http://www.dogster.com/dogs/718265

MICA MUST be corralled for a donation to stick.

If someone chooses Mirra, or The Purple Girls Of Oregon (TPGOO) without Mica, it won’t count. (SO no matter what, make sure you corral MICA!) With each new corral Mica’s IMHA Research Fund gets a small donation. A bonus comes if Mirra and TPGOO are also selected.

There are Woofdays coming up which makes your click even better! Mica’s on 10 May, would be her 11th. Mirra’s very 1st comes 30 May, 2008. This is where it gets even more special!

The tally of the number of corrals MICA has on 31 May 2008, after Mirra's Woofday, means A DOLLAR for EVERY CORRAL! so if the total, for example is 1000 corrals, then MICA'S IMHA FUND gets 1000 dollars. These donations will be from the same kindhearted GSD who raced her last fall for the cause. It was a close race and Mica lost but was sooooooo close to winning. This Special GSD & his owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, believes so much in Mica's cause, IMHA research & K9 Blood donations too. It is close to their hearts as he lost his K9 Partner to this disease.

Thank You!
Please pawmail Mica if you are interested in making a donation to this cause. Mica's Mom is a great woman, and is tirelessly fighting for a cure!

Poem for Dog Lovers

Hello. I've been expecting you for quite some time.
Here, come sit beside us for awhile.
and let me tell you about this old friend of mine.
She might look tattered or maybe old
But I won't say goodbye until you've been told.
She had the brightest eyes I had ever seen,
And wore a beautiful fur coat that would out shine a queen.
She was never prissy but walked with an aire ......
And oh so polite, you could take her most anywhere.
She could run like the wind and could catch anything she chased
But she protected and sat with me when I had problems to face.
You could not find a friend nearly so dear.
Because no matter the trouble she always stayed near...
She has never asked for much from me;
Just to love and respect her and I think you'll agree.
To give her a good meal plus a nice warm bed is not much to ask;
When she has given me all her love and to her this was no task.
Now I understand you have a schedule to keep.
But I have a small favor before she nods off to sleep.
Please fold your wings around her and let her feel young while in no pain;
Dear Guardian Angel of Pets,
please keep her safe and happy until I see her again.
