Happy Birthday to me! :)

I am four years old today! Mom tells me I can't get any older. Four is good. I already had a yummy breakfast. Mom tells me I will have a surprise when she gets home from work. I am one lucky dog!

Here we go again!

Mom shared some great news with me and Babe. We're getting a new fur baby! Come Nov., Mom will be raising a second GEB pup along with Babe. Our baby should be born next week. Yes, this means that I get my tail and ears pulled, and will have to share my toys with a third puppy again, but I am excited! I love when the new kids come around, so I can show them the ropes. Babe is turning out to be a good girl, just like Island. I bet this new pup will be so much fun!

I had a great visit with Arwen and Zoey!

The family went on vacation, but couldn't go this time so I stayed with my cousins Arwen and Zoey. I had a great time! Arwen is a white German Shepherd, and Zoey is a black Lab/Shepherd mix. I had so much fun. I went on walks everyday, and they always made a big fuss about me. Zoey was my favorite to run with. We would keep going until we were ready to drop. I even got ice cream sometimes! I missed my family, but was told I was so good that I can stay with Arwen and Zoey anytime!

My play date

Mom is going to Disney World for a week and I get a vacation too! I am going to Karen's house and will get to play with my friends Arwen and Zoey for a whole week! Oh Mom, I want one of those hats with the ears! Please!!

Our good friend Angel Mica died of a horrible blood disease called IMHA. Even though MICA is now an Angel, her legacy lives on.

IMHA stands for Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia.

The tally of the number of corrals MICA has on 31 May 2008, after Mirra's Woofday, means A DOLLAR for EVERY CORRAL! so if the total, for example is 1000 corrals, then MICA'S IMHA FUND gets 1000 dollars. These donations will be from the same kindhearted GSD who raced her last fall for the cause. It was a close race and Mica lost but was sooooooo close to winning. This Special GSD & his owner, who wishes to remain anonymous, believes so much in Mica's cause, IMHA research & K9 Blood donations too. It is close to their hearts as he lost his K9 Partner to this disease.

Happy Valentines Day to all my Dogster friends! I have made some great friends here and want to make sure everyone feels the love today!

Gomez Eugene

My name is Gomez. I was given that name when I was born at the Guiding Eyes For The Blind breeding center. My family was raising me to be a guide dog, but it didn't work out. I didn't have what it took to be a guide. I was lucky and got to come home to my family and now have an important job! I am a puppy raiser just like my Mom! Since I came back home, I have earned my Canine Good Citizen Certificate. I get to teach all the puppies that come into our home good manners, patience, and how to play nice with other dogs. My Mom tells me she wouldn't be able to do this without my help. Not only do we raise our own puppy, but from time to time puppies visit other homes so they will be used to all different kinds of people. I love when other puppies come to visit too. I just get a kick out of all of them. I tolerate them trying to bite my ears and tail, but let them know when enough is enough. I even let them snuggle by me in case they get homesick. I am the luckiest dog in the whole world!
