   Leave a bone for Buddy

Nicknames:
Big Buddy, BG(Big Guy), Bud-man, Bud G. And the G stands for groceries!

Quick Bio:
-purebred-dog rescue

Birthday:
February 8th 1990

Likes:
Snacks, walks, reading p-mail and leaving attachments, & the new ceramic tile bed.

Pet-Peeves:
People food is not his food, his nails being clipped and plucking clumps of fur from his coat.

Favorite Toy:
Orange ball! The ball fell apart. I spent endless hours trying to find a replacement and finally I found one! I spent twice the price of the ball on shipping it here from California, and he shows no interest!

Favorite Food:
Pizza crust & M&M's are his favorite snacks, but he also likes the DVP. DVP, abbreviation for Dick Van Patten, you know the guy from the Eight is Enough TV show in the eighties. He has his own dog food brand!

Favorite Walk:
Any walk as far as he can go!!! Buddy is a retired volksmarcher. He has racked up over 160 volksmarches over about an eight year period. He can't walk the 10k distances anymore, but is usually good to the power lines and back.

Best Tricks:
He will offer a hand-shake without a command and even has a sense of humor!

Arrival Story:
Cindy said she always wanted a sibe. She just didn't share that with me! She first saw him in the New Jersey Associated Humane Society magazine. She contacted them and was told she could not have priority to adopt him since we live in VA. After calling for a week to check on his status, Buddy was ours. She drove four hours each way to get Buddy in 1995. Buddy is currently 16, doesn't look a day over 10, & at times quite peppy.

Bio:
Buddy, originally known as Vinnie Van Gough, was found in a cemetery in Newark, NJ with his right ear almost completely sliced off. Luckily, the Associated Humane Society of New Jersey had a Vet on site, so when he was brought to the shelter, his ear and hearing was saved. They think he was stolen and used in a ritual.
