Arrival Story:
Angel was intended as a show dog, but she developed fangs and could no longer be used for shows or breeding. It's a genetic thing, apparently, and it is illegal to breed with them. She's desperate for attention and food and very jealous of other dogs getting attention in her place. But otherwise a wonderful dog. And she's even fully house-trained now, on sunny days.

Angel died unexpectedly of undiagnosed severe anaemia in August 2009. She didn't suffer, but became increasingly sleepy and after 24 hours went into a coma. Afterwards we learned that her red blood cell count was 9 when she died, whereas it should be 55 or over for a healthy dog. The vet suspected that she had had problems for a long time and had found it increasingly difficult to keep her energy levels up. That explains why she became increasingly greedy. Even if we had known earlier there would have been little the vet could have done. We miss Angel every single day. She was brilliant.

Happy Birthday To Me!
Happy Birthday To Me!
Happy Birthday Dear Angel!
Happy Birthday To Me!

Can you believe it, I'm exactly five years old today!!!!! I just can't wait to see my birthday cake. They will give me a birthday cake, won't they? Surely they should. I was up at 6am this morning with excitement. Daddy looked a little grumpy, but I gave him my cute look and that seemed to do the trick. What about presents? Will I get presents?

Docker tried to explain a strange concept to me this week. It appears - if I understand correctly - that humans who stay at home 24/7 to serve their dogs sometimes try to make ends meet by tapping on something called a 'com-pu-ter'. I always wondered what that irritating noise was when I'm trying to get some sleep. Docker says that humans get money for making that noise and that that money is then turned into dog food and biscuits. So it can't be all bad.

Even so I fail to see why this is more important than rubbing my tummy. Human priorities are a bit of a mystery, if you ask me.

I got to go in the car yesterday. And for quite a while too! I love it. We went to pick up daddy from the station, but not the one we normally go to. We drove past fields with cows and other doggies and through villages. It was very interesting, but I felt a bit tired so I had a nap. Can't remember much after that until we got home and I had my dinner. That other dog that they keep as my servant doesn't even chew his food properly. It's all in the breeding, is what I always say. And so to bed.
