I was a BAD girl today!!!!!!!

The receiver that I wear for our "invisible" fence failed today and I got out of the yard. Mom and dad caught me and got me into the house. Mom then put Lexie's receiver on me and put me back out and I immediately blew through the fence again! I then led them on a merry chase all over the yard, through the swamp, along the highway, and back and forth through the cotton field several times. I was having a blast ignoring dad's calling me and then circling around behind him then running by him at full speed! Finally I went back home where mom caught me by opening the door on dad's truck so I could jump into it. Now mom and dad won't let me out off lead like before, which is a bummer. Oh, and now I have a brand new receiver to wear.

Well, not much to report as such since my last entry.

I guess the biggest event was the arrival of my new boy toy, Max, several weeks ago. He is a great toy though I do have to share him with several of my other brothers and sisters, which is good as he does have the tendency to wear us all out. I mean he is a furry bundle of pure energy!

Zoe had the lump removed from her left front leg which proved to be a low grade type of cancer. She is doing fine and though she is SUPPOSED to be taking it easy because of the stitches, she hasn't slowed down a bit! The stitches are to be removed on Thursday.

The only other thing that happened was a couple of weeks ago when I caught and killed a water moccasin. Dad found me with it in the drive way and took it away though :=( There are more out there for me to get .... I know this because dad has gotten three himself ..... so I'm sure I will find another to play with or maybe have a tug-of-war with one of the other kids just like Rustie, Lexie and Abby did several years ago.

Well, let me go now, got to protect the yard from the snakes and then dig in the pile some more!

A Lot to Drink About
Written by: Jimmy Buffett
Performed by: Jimmy Buffett

Up on the East side of Manhattan,
They’re still dancing with the stars.
While over in sub prime city,
It’s getting angry in the local bars
Watching the news only gives me the blues
There’s too much going wrong.
It takes the likes of me to hit the reboot key
and write a high speed drinking song.

Millionaires losing everything.
Hey, welcome to the other side of life!
There goes the yacht, there goes the Rolls,
But, you get to keep your wife!
And don’t forget the automakers
swimming up stream like a trout.
They let the shi* hit the fan
and then they made a plan
We’ve got a lot to drink about.

It’s the price of oil,
the war of the spoils.
Where’s your bucket for the big bailout?
Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan,
We’ve got a lot to drink about.

Now, Madoff made off with all the money.
Now his clients are down to skunk weed.
Repeat after me, it’s so easy to see
We’re only talking simple greed.
And those Somalian pirates are counting all the gold.
While Bush and Cheney ain’t around
and all the good lookers seem to be Czech hookers
from Key West to London town.

It’s the price of oil,
the war of the spoils.
Where’s your bucket for the big bailout?
Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan,
We’ve got a lot to drink about.

So pour me some Tennessee whiskey,
pour me a fine Jamaican rum.
That loud mouth soup
gets me kind of looped
Tequila, of course I’ll have some!

Now the family devalues
and little children count their net worth
and the truth wherever it’s hiding,
can be found on Google Earth.
Citibank’s buying jets with our money.
I wanna flog ‘em with a buggy whip.
I hope Obama and Joe won’t let the volcano blow
and patch the hole in our sinking ship.

It’s the price of oil,
the war of the spoils.
Here’s your bucket for the big bailout?
Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan,
We’ve got a lot to drink about.

Recession, Depression, the question good God
CNN keeps bumming me out.
I can’t take another doomsday moment.
We got a lot to drink, a lot to think,
a lot to drink about.

Well, Mom and Dad took me and Mischka up to my eye doc in VA today. Lucas went along for the ride too. I had a recheck on my eyes and Mischka's cataracts were evaluated. My eyes look great with absolutely no problems and I don't have to go back for a year. Mischka's eyes are not too bad, 30 to 40% coverage in one and 30% in the other. Not really enough to deal with now. She also has some other issues along with the cataracts that while not really serious, should be taken care of when she has the surgery. Since both of these things are genetic, Nakita will have to go up next time to be checked. She does not appear to have any eye problems at the moment.

We went coon hunting again this morning. We didn't catch it this time though as it got up a tree before we could get it.

Mom and Dad had to load EVERYBODY up and take us to the vet's office today for a rabies booster shot even though we were all up to date on our shots, after the latest coon incident (state law). It took two trips in two vehicles to pull it off and we then turned the office upside down.

We (all of us but Sheba) got a raccoon tonight! It may have been the same one that Rustie tangled with last Fall that eventually led to her crossing the Bridge. No one got hurt this time, except for the coon that is. He was not a happy camper.

I scared Mom and Dad real bad tonight. I found something really interesting around the outside part of the heat pump and didn't come when I was called. Mom and Dad called and called, searched everywhere (except where I was) and Mom finally got in her car to try to find me since they thought I got through the fence. When Dad found me by the A/C unit, he grabbed me and held me so tight that I couldn't hardly breath and CARRIED me into the house and called Mom (who was in tears) on the cell phone to tell her I was safe. I really don't know what all the fuss was about, I was just hanging out looking for whatever was around the A/C unit. Of course I didn't mind all the hugs and all that Mom and Dad gave me afterwards for some reason.

I had another eye recheck today. The doctor said all looks so good that I don't have to go back for 6 months and no more eye drops!!!!!!.
