Favorite Walk:
She might be blind but she LOVES walks. She really knows her way to the mailbox since that is her most frequent walk. Obviously her favorite walks are in wide open spaces.

Best Tricks:
learning the layout of the furniture or landscape so she won't bump into it

Arrival Story:
I found her on the Ponderosa Pom rescue website and fell in love. They named her Maggie. I also remembered Chachi had a really good blind dog friend so I thought she would fit in well. After the application, interviews, and references the rescue people thought she would fit in too!

Bio:
Magpie's past is unknown prior to discovery by PPRescue. According to her vet three big scars on her head which are most likely related to a prior dog fight resulted in her blindness from detached retinas. She lived for 6 weeks in foster care with a very nice lady who taught her to trust and love. One vet guessed she was 5 and another said 2, who knows? Magpie has been with us over a year and has really settled in nicely, her coat was coarse when we got her & now it might be softer than Chachi's!!! Her paws also used to feel like rough sandpaper and now they are soft. She really fell for Chachi and depended on him for guidance. He was wonderful and understanding. After he passed she has had trouble finding her way, I guess he guided her even more than I realized. Now she is starting to follow Milo's lead but he is usually to quick for her, no matter, she will cuddle up to sleep with him when he winds down. Magpie LOVES food, it's hard to deny her precious searching face but she is getting more walks with Milo to help stay fit.
