Two years gone today and a very special event.

You know, if you reflect back at life you always wonder how time can move so fast when you least expect it. Obviously, there are periods when you think to yourself that a day drags on like a year, but in reality you will blink and see that months have already passed. We look back today and wonder how two years have flown by so quickly without our baby boy Bru. Bruno was by far the largest dog we had ever had the privilege to share our lives with and he had the heart to match. His time was too short though. Ten years wasn't nearly enough. We miss him so much. Today, on his second crossover day, he has a very important task to attend to. Today is the day when his boy (should he even be called a boy, he's becoming a man) has his Battle Stations 21 test. Josh is a sailor recruit for the US Navy but tonight is the night he'll become a Sailor. We know Bruno will be right there along side him for this grueling test of knowledge and perseverance as the team prepares for life as a sailor. It is no wonder that this test coincides with his crossover day. His boy will do great and he'll always be remembered. We love you Bru. Watch over your best friend today.

Thank you all so much! It brings joy to my heart to know that even though I am gone, I have not left the hearts of my family and my friends. I am so grateful for all of you and appreciate that you thought of me on my birthday and stopped by to give birthday wishes, pressies, and yummy bones. I so wish I could have met you all personally. Think of the fun we could have had romping and playing together.

To all my Dogster pals, thank you from my big ol rottie heart!

Love you all,
Bruno

Happy Birthday at the Rainbow Bridge Bru. You would have been 12 today. It is hard to believe just two years ago, we were all celebrating your birthday and watching American Idol together. We knew you weren't 100% but we always hoped by some miracle your condition would turn around. You had a great 10th birthday though. I remember how happy you were and how you enjoyed your new toys. It was right after your birthday that things really spiraled out of control. It was like you held on long enough to have one more very special time together with the family. I will treasure the memories of that final birthday forever. It was a special time and I know today you are at peace and pain free. Happy birthday my very special boy.

Love,
Mom

PS- Thanks for looking after your boy in boot camp. He definitely has your strength and determination.

A Dog's Prayer 2

To Those Who Love & Those Who Love Me

When I am gone, release me, let me go-
I have so many things to see and do.
You must not tie yourself to me with tears,
Be happy that we had so many years.
I gave you my love, you can only guess
How much you gave me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you have each shown.
But now it is time I traveled alone.
So grieve awhile for me if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust,
It is only for a while that we must part,
So bless the memories within your heart,
I will not be far away, for life goes on,
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can not see or touch me, I will be near.
And if you listen with your heart, you will hear
All my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I will greet you with a smile and "Welcome Home".

August 1st, 1998 was when I met my family on that fateful day at the PetCo adoption fair. I was a little bit sick with a URI and had just gotten out of the hospital for my neuter, but they loved me anyway and the rest was history. I was around 7 months at the time and a wee lad of a mere 50 pounds (a lightweight for sure). Over the next 6 months I over doubled my weight and topped out at about 125 pounds. I admit now that I was a little chunky and was tapered down to 118 pounds, which was my normal weight for most of my life. I enjoyed almost 10 years with my family and I always loved having the love and security of a family. 10 years on earth wasn't long enough for my family, but for me there were no regrets. That day back in 1998 when they picked me and I picked them was a moment in time to be forever treasured. Love lived to the fullest is never regrettable and that is what I had with my family. The motto Live, Laugh, Love is so true. Enjoy each day.

Love,
Bru

Imagine my great surprise to receive an invitation today from my little buddy Kodiak. OK, so he's not really little but he will always be little to me ;) Hope you don't mind Kody

Anyway, I must be an angel with an angel to have been bestowed with such a great honor as being chosen as Hang-n-with the Big Dogs, Big Dog of the Month for the month of June! To think, for the whole month of June they will see my handsome mug as the Group Logo icon. Does life, or afterlife get any better than that? BOL

Also, thank you to the terrific admins for choosing me and thanks to Lexi, who will be handing me the reigns in just a few days.

I am one humbled angel

Love,
Bru

Mom spruced up my page today and I love it!! She was also checking on my memorial Hot Wings Maple tree and it looks like it has survived the harsh MN winter. This weekend she wants to put my memorial marker back out by the tree. It was taken in for the winter to protect it from the elements but spring really does seem to have sprung now. Well, I guess that is all I have to bark about right now.

I hope all my pals are enjoying seasonable weather. It is always picture perfect here at the bridge. Love to all

Bru

PS- WooHoo! I'm just about to hit 4,000 views. Thanks fur the love.

Thank you Bit-O-Luv dog treats! I am an angel who LOVES to eat, so these treats hit the spot. Also, thank you to all my friends who know I have a great appetite and have been generous enough to help fill it with these awesome snacks.

This angel's nub is a wiggling at high speed!
