I was a bad girl. Started licking through my shirt and tangled up some fur by my surgical port. Mom had to cut away the tangled fur but the skin below looks like it may be starting to get infected. I have an appointment this afternoon to see the vet tech so she can evaluate it. It shouldn't be too serious, just another bump in the road. I just couldn't help myself.
In the meantime, mom put my winter jacket on over my shirt so I can't do it again. Even if I lick my jacket, it is waterproof so it won't get through. She's a tricky one.
I don't expect this to be a serious problem, just an inconvenience we have to work through. I think everyone knows my name now at the U
Have a Happy Halloween. Boo to you all
I'm glad you are getting spunky. It's a good sign. You, however, need to leave your port alone.
Good sign ! like your mommy said just another bump in the road
We are delighted with the news ! and we will keep you in our prayers

Peek a Boo and family
Mia, Mia, Mia! Just had to lick through your shirt, didn't you! But I know you just couldn't help yourself sweetie. I'm sure the vet will take care of it right away and all will be fine.
Be good beautiful & have a Happy Howl-O-Ween!
Woofs & Kisses,
Keep your prayers coming for Mia
I think I must have the worst recovery EVER! They said it looks like there may be the start of an infection so they put me on an antibiotic to nip it in the bud.
To make matters worse, mom is thinking the best possible way to help with part of the problems is to CUT MY HAIR! My shining glory, my lovely fur. It is a bit of a disaster right now but it will be a sad day indeed if it comes to pass. It won't happen before this weekend. They are having a family discussion about it Saturday or Sunday.
So the updated pupdate is a slight infection, nothing major. Just another medication to be added to Mia's Pharmacy.
Keeping you in our prayers.
