Well, another visit to the vet yesterday, and the verdict is....

...the infection is still there in my ears and on my tummy.

More medications for another month. *SIGH*

Of course I am!!

Your dog is Angelina Jolie!

Just like with Hollywood superhero Angelina Jolie, they broke the mold after they created Emma!

Defying the conventional meaning of the word pawpular, Emma can't scratch behind an ear without it being reported and talked about. Emma leaves pets of the opposite sex blubbering and babbling nonsensically after each encounter, their cuteness and charm receptors bubbling over with excitement. Always one to entice a broad audience, Emma not only loves to strut her stuff on the dogwalk, but digs every chance she gets to make a difference, adopt a pet in need or dish out for her favorite charity.

What am I? A Nun?

Ok - my ears are doing better. I got most of my bandages off and at least my ear is no longer taped up. But now I have this stupid stocking over my head to keep my ears from flopping around. Mom says I look like a Nun, whatever that is.

I still have stitches in, but those should come out next week. I can't wait. In the meantime, I still have to swallow the yucky pills and have my ears cleaned out every day. I really, really, really, don't like any of it, but Mom tells me it's for my own good. Yea....right.

Thanks to all my Dogster pals for their well wishes. I'm such a lucky pup to have so many wonderful friends!

I'm home!

Whew...i'm finally home again with Mom. It's been a long recovery for me. I'm not quite there yet, but almost.

I had to go back into the vet today to get new bandages put on. He really scares the pee out of me. Seriously, i peed on the floor and then I jumped up on the chair and peed on it too! I have to go back again on Friday. Just the sound of his voice scares me.

But the good news is that my ears are clear and the eardrum has healed nicely. I'll continue to stay on the antibiotics and the ear drops until all the medications are gone. I also have a new diet...potatoes and tuna. Yummy! The vet suggested this since we don't know what's causing the infections. We'v tried allergy food. He said sometimes, there are little mites that get into the dog foods that could be causing the problems as well. I don't mind the new diet, but my poos are kind of funny looking! BOL!!

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again! I missed all my friends.

Tough Time

I'm having a tough time.

I'm a pretty klingy girl and I love my Mom very much, but in one week my whole world has turned upside down. A week ago today I had to have surgery on my ear. I was doing pretty good until the day I had to have my bandages changed. That day I peed and threw up in the car. I got home and while Mom was gone, I put a big gash in my ear while scratching it. The next day, Grandma came a got me and took me back to the vet and he rebandaged it. By that evening I had to go back in (note - this is the 3rd visit in 24 hours) and they had to rebandage again because I tore the other off. Every time I go there, I pee everywhere too. It gives a whole new meaning to having the peed scared right out of me.

Then they put this big white thing around my head and now I can't move anywhere without hitting it on something. Now I just don't move at all. The worst part is I'm not at home with mom and I haven't pooped in 2 days. I'm so depressed.

This sucks.

I have a Boo Boo

Well, I'm just lying here waiting for my anesthesia to wear off so I thought I would have Mom type up a quick note for me.

Today she found a large lump in my ear, so of course she panicked because it was very similar to the one that Angel had in her ear after she was diagnosed with cancer. Mom was worried. Well it turns out that my ears are just super infected and that hematoma was blood.

So, Mom left me here at the vets office, which I'm not happy about, by the way and they did surgery on both of my ears. They had to clean them out real good with saline and found that one of my eardrums had ruptured. No wonder I couldn't hear anything, there was too much stuff in there!

I'll be coming home soon and I can't wait. These people are real nice and all, but I'd rather be at home where Mom is.

One Year

It was one year ago today that I came to live with my Momma. I had never had a Momma before so I really didn't know what to expect. I was so very afraid of everything. The house was so different and how would I get out to pee? Where would my food come from? What if she tried to take my food from me? What would I do if she left me alone?

There were so many things to learn and I was so very afraid. Everytime someone would come in the door I would run away. Everytime something moved I would run away. As long as I could get out the door, I would be just fine. If not, I would fall down the stairs. I wouldn't dare take anything out of someone's hand...nope...no way. I couldn't have Mom near my food dish I was so afraid!! So much to learn!!

Time has gone by and we've had a good year. I have learned to like people for the most part. I am still very cautious with new people, but if I found someone I like, I never forget! I have been to numerous social events. We walked the furry scurry, went to a kite festival...geez, what are those things in the air?, we went to a few GRRR functions and to the cabin. These are all very scary events for me, but I have come through with flying colors. My big news is that I finally learned how to sit. Since I am not...well I didn't used to be treat motivated, mom didn't know how to teach me to sit. After months and months of Mom pushing me backwards and holding my rear end down, I finally figured out what she wanted!! I now get very excited and I know what treats are and how to take one from someones hand. I even know how to play with toys and chase a ball!

Most importantly I've made a ton of friends on Dogster! They are so good to me and I love being here!

Thank you, Mom!! I love you!

My First Christmas

I know it's hard to believe, but this was my first Christmas ever. I am 5 years old and this is the first time I've seen a Christmas Tree, Ornaments, Christmas Lights, Christmas toys, Christmas collars, Christmas everything!

Christmas was exhausting. Bonnie and I had to get in the car and ride ALL the way over to Marley's house. I didn't think we'd ever get there! I just don't like the car, but I did good. We sniffed and ran around alot. The kids were there and we got to open some presents with them. I got some yummy bones and a new stuffie. Bonnie got some new tennis balls.

Then we spent the night at Marley's house. Bonnie and I were so out of sorts. We didn't have our beds and we were in a different room. Neither one of us knew where to sleep! It was also much warmer in that house since they had this plush stuff to lay on. We usually have the wood floors, so we were panting a lot!

Then on Christmas Day, it was SNOWING!! We got so much snow and everyone was really happy. Finally, we got to come home, but the people followed us. We just didn't get any rest until everyone was gone.

It was a good Christmas. I like Christmas and want to do it again.

Oh...and Happy Birthday, Bonnie!

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a special time of year for most humans and pups. We are all very thankful for all the wonderful things that we have that make our lives richer in some little or big way.

For me, it's extra special. It was this time 1 year ago, that i saw humans for the first time and was taken out of the terrible puppy mill place where I was forced to sleep and have babies. It was a terrible situation and I was very unhappy.

Now, 1 year later I am a happy, healthy, silly golden pup! I have a wonderful Mom who has helped me grow and grow and grow. She often tells people we are growing together. I like that.

Thank you GRRR for rescuing me so that my Mommy could find me and take good care of me.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Cubby looks so good. We're so happy that he found such a wonderful home with humans who love him so very much!

Yay Cubby!!!
