I am so confused...but at peace...

I don't know how to begin...today, I was running in the yard, chasing my beloved UPS truck along the inside of the fence and then suddenly, I was being taken by the paw by my sisfur's boyfurriend, Dante. He came and took me flying through the air and I could see my daddy looking at me and he came over and touched my earth body but I was already headed somewhere else. Suddenly, I saw my sisfur Suzette, my brofurs...Garth, Bear and Joe! I also saw a wonderful rainbow and a big bridge. There were doggies and kitties playing in the grass and having so much fun! I felt weird though...where were my mommy and daddy and my brofurs Harley and Buster? My earth body had just run out of life... I wanted to run back to them but Suzette told me that I wouldn't be able to run on earth any more...I was now a bridge doggie and that I had very important work to do...I had to be a guardian to my family on earth as I had been before I came. I always patrolled our yard and now, I would be able to fly there whenever I wanted and never be old or sick or suffer again. I really hadn't ever been any of those things, but I knew that Suzette and Garth had been and that they were much happier at the bridge. I feel so confused but I know that over time, I will get used to the new place and I know that one day, I will be waiting for my mommy and daddy and will hear them approach and will run to them and lead them to Heaven. I still have a very important job to do and I intend to do a good job at it.

1. I was rescued by my parents from a family who had little money and they couldn't take care of me.
2. I love Beggin' Strips...gotta have 2 every night before bed.
3. I love to chase squirrels and rabbits in my yard.
4. I have caught many snakes and gotten bitten twice.

6. I love to ride in the truck even if it is just a few feet in the yard!
7. I love Saturdays because I get a special treat on Saturday morning...my mommy gives it to me!

Recovery

Just a quick update...I am doing much better now...still on antibiotics but my face is back to normal size and the hair is growing back! The vet...Dr. Barkman thinks it might have been a copperhead...a small one but still a bad one. He thinks I was very lucky and that my mommy & daddy acted fast and that helped me alot!
I am feeling better and being really cautious around the yard. Mommy found a dead snake last weekend...but I am not confessing to anything...I think it just died of natural causes (that could be me...bol)

a day of woe...

Today was going ok...til I ran into something I shouldn't have...a spider or a snake...My mommy was outside and saw a string of saliva running out of my mouth and then noticed that the side of my face was swollen like a baseball! She called for my daddy who came running over and tried to touch it but I wasn't having any of that! They put me on my leash and put me in the car and rushed me to the vet clinic where my Dr...Dr. Barkman took care of me. He made me really sleepy with some medicine and looked at my mouth. I don't remember anything after that...my mommy can fill in the details...Dr. Josh looked at Thunder's snout and shaved the swollen part looking for a bite mark. We found one and it was bleeding. There didn't appear to be 2 marks like with a snake but he started treatment to take care of either one. He put him on IV fluids and kept him for the night to make sure that he didn't swell into his throat where it would stop him breathing. We are supposed to call in the morning to get an update and all going well, he should get to go home tomorrow.

Patrol complete

Today began like any other day...waking up to my mommy letting out my "little brother" Harley and giving me a big kiss on the forehead! She always greets me with a smile and then disappears for my morning snack of 3 dog biscuits (they are little so I get 3). I start my patrol by scenting where that pesky Harley went and then I'm off to see what squirrels have invaded the perimeter of my fence. I quickly check the trees for any slow squirrels and then move on to a fence survey. As my mommy leaves for work, she backs out of the garage and gives me my 2nd snack which is a Pupperoni. She loves to see me come to her car and get it and then I race her to the gate. After she leaves, I basically sunbathe until a rogue car passes my gate and I give him a warning "WOOF"! I then resume my sunbathing. When my mommy or daddy arrive home, I like to ride in the car with them to the house. My driveway is not long but it is still fun to ride! In the evening, I survey the property again and then at bedtime, I get 2 Beggin' Strips for being a good boy. It sounds like I snack alot but believe me...I run and run all day (except for the sunbathing part). I also eat when I think about it...lol.
Well, that is my day...til next time...
