Sunday walk and Schnauzers

Mom and I went on our extended Sunday walk today, just the 2 of us. She says it's beautiful outside - sunny and bright blue skies and green grass. Whatever! I just know there are lots of smells on the ground. It rained yesterday so lots of new stuff on the ground that fell out of the trees, and lots of critters that have been leaving trails around all the stuff.

So today we finally met the 2 schnauzers that we always see walking near our house. Usually, the man just keeps walking and never says hello. The dogs are curious but he keeps them walking. But today he asked if I was friendly, and then brought them over to meet me. I forgot their names, but one is a 4 year old girl and the other is an 18 year old male!!! WOW, can you imagine - he's old enough to drive a car and get a job!!! And doesn't look a day over 8 years old!!! It's was really fun to meet them. Maybe someday they can come to our house and play!!! We love Schnauzerfests...which reminds me, we haven't recently been to the beach house where our schnauzer pals live. Hey, mom!!! Let's go!!!

BOLBOLBOL....I'm in. Doncha just love this game, *wink! I chase "SQUIRREL!" all day long because they're eating walnuts in our trees.

Motorcycle riding

Mom finally let me solo today! Dad has a leash attached to the bottom of the sidecar, and I wear a harness. I was really excited at first then I just sat and enjoyed the ride. Mom took some video but she's not very good at posting those. So maybe you'll see how much fun it is!

On vacation

A couple of days ago we went to the beach! Mom says it's so beautiful out, sunny and clear, blue water. All I notice is the beach! Woo hoo ~ my favorite.

Today we met Dexter's dad! We went to the motorcyle sidecar place. Too bad Dexter wasn't there. It would be fun to meet another dogster.

Well, I finally got a ride in the motorcycle sidecar today. Dad took mom, me and Winston up and down the block just to see what we would do. I got pretty excited and wanted to see everything! Mom saw a squirrel up ahead so she covered my eyes - BOL! Winston was only interested in watching dad drive and after I got out he wanted mom to hug him. I think I'm going to love riding. Dad has a ring attached on the floor under the seat with an attachment to clip to my halter. Mom thinks we'll need to take the seat out if I ride alone with dad since I'm so tall I could try to jump out if I saw something. I hope they don't expect me to wear doggles!!! Born to be wild....

Heat and smoke!

Well today was only 101 degrees, but the air quality has worsened to hazardous. YIKES! We all had cabin fever so mom got each of us out on a walk starting at 6:30 am when it was cool but of course smoky. It seems to have calmed the wild beast in us boys. I saw on the news tonight that a grooming shop opened up their space as a cooling center for pets ~ for people who don't have air conditioning. The owner said that some of the dogs have been coughing! We have outdoor cats but mom brought them inside because they looked kinda limp. Do they make face masks for dogs & cats? I may have a market here!

Tonight a small wind kicked up. It will start cooling off, but they don't know about the smoke since the fires are still burning.

Heat and air quality problems

It was 111 degrees today and the air quality is 2.5PM ~ unhealthy for sensitive groups, meaning my mom & her asthma. Our city is still filled with smoke. It's so thick today and you can see smoke drifting by. Yesterday was that bad too although we did get a short walk early. Tomorrow is supposed to be only 109. Sheesh!!! Mom had to work today so NO WALK!!! It's criminal. Mom cancelled our mid day walk because the ground is too hot to walk on and the air too bad to breathe. It's 10:45pm and it's finally 85 degrees but too late to go for a walk. This is serious! Last week it was hot and there was smoke so our housesitter only gave us short walks. And now NONE! The weather is supposed to change by the weekend, although not sure about the smoke. Mom says it's for our health. Winston & I run around and around the house and yard as much as possible. Mom brought us a lot of new toys from her trip so we chase each other and try to steal them. But this is getting old.

...please dear Dog, stop the fires. We don't want anyone else to lose their house, and we want all the people & pets & wildlife who are having a hard time breathing to be ok, and I'll be real good if you let me go for a walk again.
