Now I'm limping

So Saturday mom was with me all day long and I was fine. The family comes home and mom goes to take the neighbor's dog for a walk and comes back to me limping. It had to have had happened when mom was gone, but no one knows what I did. So now everyone is like, "She'll get over it." but mom is like, "The last time you said that we found out the blood tumor burst." So she is fixed on going to the vet to check it out.

Lets just pray it's nothing serious again, I don't want anymore surgeries.

Toy troubles

So latley over the weekend the weather has been nice here so I've been playing outside. Mom makes sure I'm cooled down, but being a lab she can't just hose me down. Well I'm sure you all know I can't keep up with Oliver and that makes it hard to play. So mom has started holding him back, side arming the kong and giving me a head start. I like it best when I win. =D

Tumors bursting

As you all probably know that's what happened with the blood tumor in my spleen and then another one formed and they removed my spleen. Well our neighbor had two dogs, one from the wild, she's a wolf-dog, and a deaf cattle dog. Their wolf-dog was 14 and had a tumor burst. She was carried to the car where she died.

Tumors that burst have no real warning signs and most of the time you don't know it's happening. In most cases dogs do not sruvive, and my family knows how lucky it was that I'm still here. If your an older dog please watch for any signs of sickness because that could be a warning of a tumor that burst. And please keep our neighbors in your thoughts, their going through a hard time right now.

Warning: Labby content

So many of you are reading this knowing I'm a lab, if you don't know this I am a lab. Labs are very popular breeds for our patience, energy level, and loving nature. We are also known as water dogs with certain characteristics that make us this way, such as our otter tail and coat. We are great people dogs and are very loved by the world, but I'm here to break some news to you guys. We have a horrible fault. So if your looking into all the reasons above and because I'm still alive and fighting, thinking you want a Lab pay close attention.

Our lab otter tail have been described as clubs. You may know us for being happy, but have you ever thought about being hit with out hard tail while we are filled with joy? Did you ever see us run through the house taking out anything in tails reach? I know a lot of you have seen my previous diary entries about surgeries, but what has injured me the most is hitting my tail on sharp corners. In fact the vets had put this hard thing on the end of my tail to protect my wound while it healed and I beat up the hard thing so bad it had to be taken off.

So to anyone thinking about getting a Lab, please heed my warning.

Keeping everyone in their place

Well lately I've felt the need to prove once again to everyone that I'm top and they're not. Oliver is the easiest to remind, I just have to snap and he'll sta away from my food. The rest of my family is more difficult, but I've found a new way to drive them crazy. I've learned that I can beg for food until they get tired of it and set some food down, I then proceed to take one bite. After that I go and lay down so some one feels like they have to put it up.

For any dog out there who thinks you're getting to old to boss everyone around, well just invent new way like that to boss everyone around.

A good walk at last

So my staples are out (yeah, not stitches) and my fur is growing back. Since the surgery I couldn't go for walks, though I did want to follow my nose. Mom has watched me and I was getting really rowdy, so she decided to give me a walk before I destroyed something. Well I went on an uphill 1/2-1 mile walk and never slowed down, in fact I pranced the whole walk. So good news, I'm back to normal and not slowing down cause of old age.

Sorry, late update

So the good news the swollen cheeks are no more. They're healed, I can go outside in the backyard now. I still can't play with Oliver, but I discovered I can herd him away from my spot by hitting him with it. My family isn't so happy about me using the cone as a weapon, but it works to get my way.

I'm going to get my stitches out this week, probably Tuesday, and that should be an end to the surgeries for a while. All the vets talk about how healthy and how good I am, but they did call me petite. That made mom laugh because I sure don't act small.

Got some more morphine

Yes my tumor that was cancerous has been removed along with three teeth and another tooth will be removed later. It takes a lot of effort from the whole family to keep me laying down, and I kind of fall into a sit while I'm walking. The hard wood floors are a whole different obstacle. But after the last tooth I should be healthy and going strong.

I'm home

Yes I was picked up today and I was all wiggly. Mom had to hold me still just to get the leash on, then as we were leaving I got to see the geese. Before I could chase them I had to get into the car, but it took a while before I stopped jumping on the seats. When we finally got home I finally laid down in the car and mom had to carry me out cause I thought I couldn't get out. Oliver and I had quite a bit sniffing to catch up on, and I reclaimed the kong and bed. Everything at home is good now, though I have a surgery for my tumor tomorrow. The good thing is I won't have to stay overnight like I had to do with my spleen surgery.

Mom's leaving for vacation, and I'm leaving to go to the boarding. Oliver is going to be lonely, so give him your wishes for the holiday. Can't wait to be back.
