Too many lights

So Mom came home yesterday with all this stuff and at first I thought it was for my birthday coming up (Dec. 7th yey!) but she pulls out this big fake tree and lights, and all these things that jingle. Well this morning she was up bright and early with music playing and throwing stuff everywhere. She said I have a stocking now (with paw prints on it) but I don't get it I don't wear stuff on my feet and the thing's too big for my little paws anyways. So for most of the morning I just watched her parade around singing and being silly. Apparently she didn't buy enough lights though, so when she ran out she decided to take a break. She sat down on her bed and just looked around at all the stuff she had put up and this is sad song came on the her big box that plays music and then mom started to leak...she wasn't peeing though because it was coming from her eyes. I've seen her do it before, but that was when her and Aunt Emily were laughing really hard. I don't get it she was happy and silly mom and then something went wrong. She told me to come sit with her, so I did. Her makeup was all runny and for a minute I thought we were getting ready for halloween again. She was blubbering something about this Christmas would have been the 10th an-u-versorry (whatever that is...) of when grandma and grandpa gave her Buddy (her first dog, the one before me) and she told me that I better not ever leave her. I don't understand what she's talking about, am I going on vacation? Why would I leave her? Who would feed me and rub my tummy? I'm not leaving my mom for anything...I licked her and gave her kisses and she cried some more and hugged me, but it seemed to help. Mom's just been having a real hard time since Buddy went away in October. I don't exactly know where he went...mom says into the sky...But ever since then it was like a piece of her smile went away. I think that's why she's been looking to get me a brother. It used to be me, mom, and Buddy. Now it's just the two of us...Oh good mom's putting on more jingle music and she's back to parading around our tree. I guess I better go inspect her work...
