there's a new dog in the house!!

my mommy rescued a puppy and brought her home.

at first, she seemed scared of me. but within a day, we made friends.

now, the puppy wants to always be around me. she wants to play with me all the time, she even climbs in my doggie bed with me. my mommy says the puppy (ella) really loves me.

and everyone likes the fact i've been getting more exercise playing with her all the time.

and nap time is better too! i'm so tuckered out from all the playing that my naps are deeper and longer.

i was feeling pretty old until they brought ella home, now i'm full of life again.

pssst: don't tell lilly, but i'm one of the reasons the puppy didn't go off somewhere else. they knew it would break my heart if she left!!!

i'm hurting!!

i've had this cyst on my side for years. every vet told my mommy that it was just a cyst and to watch it in case it ever got bigger. well, after years of it staying the same size, it got bigger...

which meant that i needed to go in for surgery. my mommy's step-dad got my leash and i thought "oh boy! i'm going for a run!" then he made me get into the car and i thought "oh boy! i'm going to the doggie park!" but then he tricked me, we went to the vet instead!

i didn't want to go into the room alone with the vet, so i pulled myself out of my collar. my mommy's step dad had to go in with me...then they gave me a shot, put a tube down my throat & performed the surgery.

when i woke up ~ i wasn't too sure where i was or what was going on. i know i went home with a huge collar around my head so i couldn't really reach my water bowl or see where i was going...my mommy found me in the bathroom just staring at the showerhead, and i can't really explain what i was doing in there...

i don't mess with my stitches so they took the collar off me...which is fine, i hurt too much to do anything...even four days later, i'm still hurting. i can't sleep on my mommy's bed like i always do, but there's three different doggie beds around the house i can sleep in, like i did before mommy moved back home. i can sleep on a throw rug mommy put down by her bed, she even took one of her pillows off her bed and put it next to me cause she knows i like to cuddle up to it & smell her scent.

i just hurt a lot right now, but each day i'm getting better. mommy brushes me every day cause i can't shake off that extra fur or groom myself like normal.

i just want to feel normal again.

the house is quiet....

everyone has gone to sleep except my mommy. she is sitting at the computer typing something. i've really enjoyed her moving back home. the lady of the house loves me, but her and her husband don't let me sleep on their bed. the doggie bed they got me is very comfortable, but i used to be able to sleep on the lady's kids bed when they lived at home.

but they got older and moved away, including my mommy. i slept with her almost every night. then she decided to change careers. so she went back to school and started substitute teaching. she couldn't afford her old apartment anymore and moved back in with my lady and her husband. now i can sleep on her bed. this makes us both happy because she missed me alot when she was gone.

some people wonder why my daughter lilly doesn't have her own dogster page. lilly is a pretty dog and still looks like a puppy. since everyone gives her so much attention when we go out, my mommy felt bad that i don't get the same amount of fuss. so she made me a page on dogster and didn't make one for lilly. all the family members said that she should, but she said that i need a place to shine and the internet was it!!
