   Leave a bone for Kelsey, 4/24/98 - 9/19/08

Mr. K; Goofy; K-Dog; Sweetie, "O'Eire's Golden Ace"

Doggie Dynamics:
not playfulvery playful

Sun Sign:
Quick Bio:

April 24th 1998

Going to the beach to run, swim, play and find neat stuff to pounce on; Clowning around; The country;Fresh snow; Stalking bunnies, squirrels & birds, but, "please don't expect me to catch it! I'm not putting THAT in my mouth -might hurt it or me!"

Aggressive males; Impolite dogs; Bully dogs, esp when they pick on puppies. When he goes upstairs for a drink of FRESH water from the bath tub and no one is right there to turn on the water!

Favorite Toy:
tennis balls (when outdoors), when indoors, a plush toy that he can whip around and pounce on (he likes to just covet the little ones) - he has a huge collection now, but his latest favvorite has been a giant burger, a gift from his breeder

Favorite Food:
Kelsey says: ANY bread product, but, esp. BAGELS! (when I'm lucky) I'll eat my dog food, but, I'd really like ANYTHING you like.

Favorite Walk:
Get me to the BEACH!!!

Best Tricks:
Hiding behind a tree; Making himself dizzy by doing the bucking bronco while shaking a toy in his mouth.. "the snore stopper" Kelsey will jump on the bed and put his head over his dad's face if he's snoring when mom is trying to sleep

Arrival Story:
After having a couple Gordons while growing up, I couldn't imagine having any other breed. I went to the dog show to look for & talk to good breeders, asked everyone who breeds the biggest Gordons (so I won't hurt him if I hug him too hard) -about 2 months later, Kelsey was born, made to order! :-) He's was a real character right from the beginning - always loves to entertain!

Kelsey was born on April 24, 1998 and came with 'bragging rights' - his grandfather (he's the Gordon you see when you go to the Gordon Setter page of the AKC web site) was a big star at Westminster for a few years. We lost Kelsey on Sept 19, 2008. We were devastated. More pics, etc. on Flickr: 450@N00/sets/72157608560625020/

Size & quirks:
Kelsey was a very tall & lean Gordon - he was over 27" and weighed a steady 83-84 lbs throughout his adult life. I always loved the fact he was so tall. He was such a big guy who would put on this 'tough guy' act, then turn into mommas boy in a second. He was SO sensitive in every way- EVERYTHING had to be 'just so'....and if it wasn't, he felt it was his job to do something about it, or at least tell his humans so THEY could do something about it. He did some amazing things to help others. He was a very special one of a kind, and a wonderful & tolerant 'host' to all of our foster dogs..
