To whom it may concern...

... Mom dropped Deshi and I off at the groomers'... there was talk about a bath, brush, nail trim, and something about anal glands?! I am desperately seeking someone to get me out of here. Mom said she would be back at 7pm tonight to pick us up. That is too long! By then I'll be clean, brushed, have trimmed nails, and we won't even talk about the anal glands! If you only have enough room in your car to free one shiba from the groomers' - take me. Let Deshi get cleaned! He is so mellow and laid back he won't know what is going on till it is over anyway. Please, I implore you - get me outta the grooming salon!

1st prize for best costume = lots of goodies!

I won first prize for best costume for the costume contest at my vet's office! I received a basketful of goodies. I received a small bag of Science Diet dry food and two bags of Science Diet treats. I received some Greenies Pill Pockets, two leashes, a 6 month supply of Heartguard, a $5 Starbucks Gift Card, and a $5 Blockbuster gift card!

Mom took me down to the vet's office today and I had my picture taken with Dr. Blagg and all the vet techs and receptionists. My costume was the bumblebee costume and they are going to put my picture up on the website!

Swimming... Dog Park... and Shiba Zoomies

Yesterday Deshi and I met up with our pal Kuma. We went swimming in the San Marcos River - you can see a video of that here:

Afterward s we went to the dog park and ran around. That was a lot of fun. Then we came home and ran around and played in the living room and also the backyard. It was a shiba-tastic day!

Gumball Machine

My gumball treat machine arrived today. It was just one day late from my birthday - so, not too bad. Mom was trying to teach me how to operate it. She held my paw and pushed down on the bone shaped handle and treats came out. I am still trying to figure it out for myself.

My birthday was fun. Mom baked me a cake and put treats on top of it. It was tasty. Then, that evening she met up with her friend Jennifer and we (Mom, Jennifer, Deshi, and I) went walking around the hospital track and the surrounding neighborhood for an hour. Yukiko didn't come because it was still too hot even at 8 PM for her.

I wanted to also send out a big Thank You to all you pups who sent birthday pawmails, rosettes, and special gifts. Big shiba smoochies to you all.

The question on everyone's mind...

... Is will I get my gumball treat machine in time for my birthday? Mom ordered it for me about three weeks ago. She emailed the online store yesterday and they apologized for the delay. They had just received a new shipment from the company that makes them. Mom was told that she should receive the gumball treat machine and treats early next week. I hope it is very early next week since my birthday is on Monday. Oh... gumball machine... when will you be all mine?

Walk in the park

Mom took Kuma and I for a walk in the park this morning. It was nice. There were lots of interesting things to sniff. Then we came back home and we ran around the house and played a bit then we took our play outside to the backyard. A little after that it was time for breakfast. Mom decided to add a can of Merrick to our kibble. Yukiko, Kuma, and I got to eat some Cowboy Cookout. It was nice and tasty. After that we had a mini-play session and then a good long rest. Kuma's Mom picked him up about fifteen minutes ago. But, I get to see my pal Kuma at the Shiba Pawty this coming up Saturday. I am looking forward to that.

Play and more play and a Sunday morning stroll...

Kuma and I went for a walk last night. We had a fun time playing throughout the day... we played and played for hours and hours. Mom had to give us 'play breaks' periodically yesterday so we could rest. Once she took Kuma in the computer room with her for a bit and he napped in there while I napped in the living room. Another time she put me in my crate and let me nap while Kuma napped in the living room. We had plenty of treats throughout the day and at dinner time Kuma, Yukiko, and I split a can of Merrick Mediterranean Banquet - Mom mixed it in with our Kibble. Yummy!

Mom took Kuma and I out for an hour walk this morning. It was a lot of fun sniffing around - we even checked out a sprinkler in one of the yards and had our faces misted. Mom laughed at us standing there by the sprinkler. When we returned home surprise, surprise - we wanted to play some more. So, we ran around a bit in the backyard. Yukiko even chased us and played for a bit as well, but she got hot and wanted to come inside. We then came inside and rested a bit. A little later Mom fed us. We decided we didn't want our own food, but wanted to eat the other's food. We both get Innova although Kuma eats Innova puppy and I eat the adult formula.

We have been having such a great time playing together. We are now having a little nap - I think we are just gearing up and saving some energy for more play later. Woof!
