Arrival Story:
My husband and I visited every pet store we drove or walked by. We played with the puppies and originally, decided on a Siberian Husky. At one pet store, we saw an Akita pup. My husband fell in love with the breed. I was a bit skeptical due to their reported aggressive tendencies toward people, dogs and kids. After some more searching, we found a breeder with a new litter. She was one of 10 but I just fell in love with her! Don't get me wrong, it was a difficult choice, but a good one. At 7 weeks old, she's incredibly smart, knowing that she's supposed to go in the woods to do her business. She's grown into quite a big girl in such a short period of time.
