A New Addition

Ok, last week mom and dad brought home a new baby. They didnt ask me if it was ok, they just assumed it would be. Well the new baby thinks I am his mother. He follows me everywhere I go, even to the bathroom. Dont get me wrong, he is a cute kid and all but I'm not his mother.
I really do like the new kid, even though I have had to set him in his place a couple of times. That will teach him to try to take my food.
The new kid really must think that I am his mother, he wants to always be with me. He even sleeps on my bed with me. Mom and dad call me Mama Arial.

Christmas

Another Christmas has come and gone, and once again mom thinks its cute to dress me and my brother up and take our pictures. My brother will do anything for a treat, he will even wear the funny reindeer antlers etc. Since it only comes once a year I humor mom and let her put the silly looking Santa hat on me, but it doesnt mean I am going to smile in any of the pictures.

Santa Paws was very good to me and my brother and my other fur siblings. My brother Caesar and I, we got these huge bones, bones that were so big that we thought we had died and gone to doggy heaven, lol. We also got bones filled with peanut butter, bully sticks, toys, and special treats. Thats the bad thing about Christmas, it only comes once a year.

I have been training

Well its time to tell everyone what I have been doing for the past year. I have been training to be a PSD, Psychiatric Service Dog In Training. I know that I am much older than the other PSDIT's but they say that I am doing well in my training. How it all came to be was that when my mom was getting sick, when that happened I wouldnt let her out of my sight. I followed her wherever she went, I became like glue. I did other things but mom says they are too numerous to mention on this page. I only have two paws and not a good typer. Mom brought this to the attention of her doctor who told her about PSD's and told her to do some research. She than took me to the vet and had me evaluated for temperament. I dont know how long I will do this but for now I am here to help, my brother is also training too.

Also mom has back problems, she has had three major back surgeries, she just had her third surgery last month. She has problems moving around, I and my brother both are being trained to help her with mobility. We have learned the task of 'Brace' for when mom needs help getting up off the floor or when she bends down to pick something up. We are both learning to help her get up from the chair, and to help her balance. The next task is retrieval.
