Happy New Year, Friends!!!!

Ahhh, this is the LIFE! Loin of pork roasting in the oven....warm house, soft couch, sweet, playful sisters, doting Mom, loving Dad....and not being terrified of it/by it all!

It's been some year! I've come out of my shell (and shell-shocked state) so much that it amazes everyone who new me last year! I actually let people pet me....I'll sit on the couch with Mom and Dads friends!!!! I don't hide in the back of the closet unless something HUGE (like thunder or firecrackers) upsets me!

I have DOGSTER buddies!!! I actually have non-virtual dog friends, even!!! No one, not human nor canine, bullies me or beats me up! Ahh, yes, this is the LIFE!

Wishing all my friends, canine AND human, a happy, healthy, blessed New Year.

It's the 2nd Anniversary of Katrina

I just spent the day at home with Mom, Dad, Godiva and Haze. It's over a year since I came here to my furever home; it's two years since disaster hit my former life.
I'm grateful for all that I have now. It's taken me a long time to believe it; to settle down into it and not live in abject terror of everything. I grieve for all those lost, for all those still struggling for basic survival and dignity. I still cannot fully grasp how it all happened, and why it's still not fixed...but then again, my people can't figure that one out either, and they're pretty smart humans.
I just hope that someday, in the not too distant future, this will be a distant memory for all of us who were affected. Thanks again to the people who rescued me from the wreckage, and allowed me to have a future.

It's a whole year already!

It's my first annifursary with the family; and we've combined my birthday with it, since it was ballparked at right around this time of year.
I am having an AMAZING weekend! I had a fantastic time with many of my pals here on Friday night (Muffin, you outdid yourself!)
Today, I got to go to the park with Haze...we met all kinds of dogs...there was a tiny Chi that was enamored with Haze....it was hilarious!!!! They were so cute together!
Tonight, we're having a special dinner....Dad has chopped up roast beef, chicken and cheese to add to our kibble....and I heard Mom say something about gravy..woohoo!
It is amazing to think back to a year ago when I was a shivering, cowering, unloved homeless boy with no prospects....and here I am today with parents, pack and PAWSOME pals. Love to you all...prayers for every pup who needs them, and thanks to all my friends for being fabulous.

It's almost a year since I came to my forever home and- family

OMD, what an experience it has been!

Mom and Dad say I have made quantuum leaps of progress since I came home to them; I still have my fears and quirks, but in so many ways I am truly a different dog.

I only wish EVERYPUP has the opportunity to find a family to love and be loved by; it makes all the difference in the world.

And I wanted to say a heartfelt Thank You to all the wonderful Dogsters' we've come to know and depend on in the past year. Y'all are just wonderful.

Let's take the time this weekend to remember ALL of our servicemen and servicewomen, both past and present. Support the personnel, even if you do not support war. If we cannot support these people, then we do not deserve their sacrifices.
