Sun Sign: Quick Bio:
 Birthday: July 6th 2004
Likes: Going bye bye's in the car, when her doggy friends come over to play, going to work with Mommy, When it's time to have kibbies, going for walks, playing with a baby, going sleepies in mommy's bed, and snuggies anytime.

Pet-Peeves: When other dogs try to get mommy's attention, when Mommy is late feeding her, when one of her step brothers has her toy and won't give it back, when her sister Stormy won't share the car window with her, loud children, and strangers in her house.

Favorite Toy: She has about 100 favorites. Her snakie, her weaky ball, and her bunny I think are the top three though.

Favorite Food: The better question would be, what ISN'T her favorite food.

Favorite Walk: The park!

Best Tricks: She is so smart, anything I teach her she gets it really quickly. Her newest trick is bowing. :) I think her favorite trick is catching food in her mouth though, she loves to eat!

Arrival Story: I had always wanted a boxer, and I spent almost 2 years doing tons of research and finding the perfect one. I had it all set up where I'd go and pick her up on September 11th at 7:30... I was supposed to get the pick of the litter. I wanted a flashy fawn female. I get a call from the breeder at about 5:30 saying she was sorry but she decided to advertise, even after she told me she wasn't, and she had tons of people at her house buying the puppies, and she could no longer give me the pick of the litter, and she also only had one fawn female left, and a woman was on her way now to buy her. I was irrate. I was in the middle of a work shift, and didn't get off til 7. My boss knew how much I wanted her though, and me working at a vet clinic also helped, because they all understood the love for a dog, so I got to leave work early. I jumped in my car and drove as fast as I could to the breeder, who lived about an hour away. It was a really rainy day and everything was wet and muddy. I pulled up into the driveway and saw the daddy standing guard of the house. He was gorgeous. Then I saw the puppies on the porch. I walked up and saw the last little fawn girl and told the woman she was mine. All the other puppies were trying to jump up and get my attention, and the little fawn girl instead of fighting for the attention, was mesmorized with the water dripping out of the gutter, and kept sticking her head under it. I picked the little wet puppy up, gave the breeder the rest of the money, and ran back to my car in the pouring rain. To this day, she LOVES the rain.

Well, my blood work came back and everything looks pretty good. My EPI is under control, and my other blood values were where they are supposed to be. It's good that I'm healthy, but it sucks that my mommy can't help make my eyes any better. I'm starting to get used to it though. It's not so bad!
My mommy was worried about me losing weight also. I lost 5 pounds in a month, even though I've been eating 5 cups of food a day. (which I don't think is enough, but mommy says I'll bloat if she gives me too much!) So mommy said she is tired of all the conventional medicines that haven't helped me much, so I went to see a veterinary acupuncturist. He checked me over and said the pulses on my right side weren't as strong as the left. the ones on the right correlate with the pancreas and GI track. So he said my "Yin and Yang" weren't aligned, so I needed to get them back in line and I would start getting better. I haven't gotten any acupuncture yet, he put me on some Chinese herbal supplements to start with. If they don't do the trick Mommy says I will be going back and getting the acupuncture.
Hopefully it works, I don't like it when Mommy gets upset about me being sick.

Hello dogster friends, it's been awhile!
I guess I should start by saying that I was diagnosed with what's called Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency about a year and a half ago. It's a disease that causes my body to not absorb any fat, so no matter how much I eat, I still don't gain much weight. My mommy got me a supplement that makes my pancreas start doing it's job again, so I can absorb my food. It's helped me put on a few pounds.
But lately I haven't been seeing so well. Everything is just kind of blurry. My mommy noticed it when I started to bark at her and my other family. I couldn't see them very well, and I thought they were strangers!
So I went to the vet, and they found some hazy areas in my eyes, so they told my mommy I should see an eye doctor.
The next day we went. It was a far drive, but it was just me and Mommy, so it was nice. All the ladies at the eye doctor were nice to me and gave me lot's of cookies. They told my Mommy the hazy spots were either genetic, or they were deposits of fat in my corneas due to too much fat in my blood. Because of my pancreas problem, the second reason was the most likely. the next day I had to go back to the vet and get my blood drawn so they could run some tests to find out if it was my EPI causing the problem.
Mommy says we will find out in a few days, so cross your paws for me that its my EPI and not a genetic problem. If it's genetic then I will never be able to see clearly again! :(

Friday night my Mommy was petting me and found another lump. She started to cry, and said I had to go to work with her the next day to see the doctor. I licked her face and layed next to her. I wasn't sure why she was so upset, but I didn't like it.
I got to spend the entire day in the lab with my Mommy. She was listening to other doggies hearts and giving them kisses, so I stood up on my hind legs and watched her. She told me I was a good little helper, and I got cookies too. :)
A little while later one of the doctors poked me in the neck where my Mom found my lump, and looked at what he got out of it under the microscope. My Mommy got very excited, and started hugging and kissing me. She told me it wasn't cancer this time, and I was going to be okay. No more surgery for me. :D
