Tail wags and happy barks from (the incredible) Hulk.

Well, Dad and (sister) Charlene have planned a CAMPING TRIP!! I can hardly wait. We aren't going to Baker Lake this year because (brother-in-law) Greg changed jobs, and doesn't have vacation time, so we are going someplace close to Charlene and Greg's house, so he can come and still go to work.

Dad and I are thinking about going to Baker Lake by ourselves for a few days.

We have been having some warm days, and the snow is melting fast. It still freezes every night, so the driveway is covered with ice! We have been able to get up the driveway so far, in four wheel drive. Going down is fun, when the tires lose their grip and we go sliding! We slid into a snow bank one day last week. It was fun watching Dad walk back up the driveway to get a shovel to dig us out. He fell down at least four times. Dad didn't think it was fun.

Greetings from (the incredible) HULK

Well, I suppose most (human) mothers have played the little piggie game, using their children's toes-----(This little piggie went to market, this little piggie stayed home...................). well, the fifth little piggie, (the one that went wee, wee, wee, all the way home) has nothing on my Dad. I was helping dad in the storage shed yesterday, when he picked up a heavy box to move it. The bottom of the box opened up, and the contents fell out----including a large pipe wrench which landed squarely on Dad's toe. Well, first Dad made a rather poor attempt at yodeling---then, grabbing his foot in both hands, made a rather interesting attempt at an indian war dance, complete with authentic sound effects. Then he outdid the fifth little pig as he went wee, wee, weeee! All the way home. On a scale of one to ten, I gave his performance a seven in entertainment value.

We still have almost eighteen inches of snow in the places that don't get much sun, and night time temperatures have been below freezing. It has warmed up during the day to the mid forties. The driveway hasn't turned to ice yet this year, as it usually does.

The Groundhog

Well, it happened again------on Feb. 2nd, that darn groundhog came out of his hole---saw his shadow, and in fear, jumped back in his hole to stay for six more weeks! That means six more weeks of winter----and we are all ready for spring! I was hoping for a cloudy day, but the sun was shining brightly. Vixen and I are doing a lot of arguing, and when we do, Dad yells at us! We all have cabin fever! And Dad doesn't help things at all, when he takes the shovel and walks all around the yard, collecting our poop-sicles and THROWING THEM AWAY! Well, at least I can always lie down next to STOVE---Dad still keeps feeding him firewood, and he makes a lot of nice heat. That is one good thing.

Dad took his shovel and climbed up on the roof and played in the snow again yesterday. It looked like a lot of fun, throwing the snow off the edge of the roof. He wouldn't carry me up the ladder, and I can't climb it by myself, so I didn't get to help.

Dad's snow-game

Greetings from the frozen north from (the incredible) Hulk!

Well, Dad has found a new way to play in the snow! He has been up on the roof of the cabin shovelling snow! It looks like so much fun! I wanted to go up and help, but couldn't figure out how to climb the ladder, and Dad wouldn't carry me up! So he got to do it all by himself.

It is still cold--------the morning temperature was 10 degrees (fahrenheit), the poop-sicles are ripe-----all is well!

Barks and butt-sniffs to all from (the incredible) Hulk!

Well, we have been having quite a bit of snow lately, so much that the snow plow on my truck can't clear the road well enough, because the snow has piled up along the edges so high, that when Dad and I plow , the snow falls right back onto the road. So yesterday Dad, Ol' Weird John and Lonesome woke up both their and our snow-eating monsters and used them to clear the edges of the road. We have a mile of road that we have to clear, so it took a long time. Dad wouldn't let me come and help, because he said I might fight with Lonesome. He is right too, I probably would. I hate Ol' John, and I hate his dog, too!

We have about twenty inches of snow on the ground, and Dad says we will get more before it starts to melt. It has warmed up from a cold snap, when the temperature dropped to minus 17! (That is fahrenheit, not centigrade) The best part about that is that the poop-sicles ripen before Dad has time to find them and throw them over the fence!

Snow,Poopsicles and Sandy Claws

Barks and smiles from the frozen northwest, from (the incredible) Hulk!

Well, guess what?? We now have six inches of snow on the ground and all is GOOD! I love to play in the snow; the most fun is running and plowing the snow with my nose! Another reason snow is good is that I don't have to go inside to get a drink----eating snow is a good way to satisfy my thirst.

The temperature has dropped to well below freezing---down to 5 this morning. That means the poop-sicles are ripe! Dad won't let me bring them in the house, so I have to eat them outside. Sadly, dad spends a lot of time outside with a shovel looking for poop-sicles-----when he finds one, he throws it over the fence! What a waste. Vixen and I are getting pretty creative when it comes to finding a secret place to plant them, though.

Sandy claws will be coming soon, and Vixen and I have both been pretty good this year. We haven't run away----not even once! We do spend a lot of time across the room from one another, making faces at each other, but I hope Sandy Claws will forgive that, since the rest of our behavior has been so good.

Yesterday, Bill came over and helped Dad and me mount the big square tooth on the front of my truck, so that now Dad and I can make my truck go up and down the driveway and the road and push the snow out of the way. Truck just puts his big square tooth down on the road, and when he goes along, the snow is pushed off to the side! Dad woke up the snow eating monster, and made him go up and down the walkways in the yard and eat the snow. Well he doesn't eat it--he must not like the taste because he puts it in his mouth and then spits it out-----way off to the side. This is good, because it makes a good place for dad to walk, since he doesn't like to run and plow snow with his nose.

The last good thing about the cold weather is that the big fat monster that sits in the living room and eats firewood---his name is "stove"-- makes a lot of heat---and it is wonderful to lie beside him. Stove always goes to sleep in the spring, and doesn't wake up till the cold weather comes again in the fall.

That's all for now,

Your pal, Hulk.

Barks and slobbers to all from (the incredible) Hulk!

Well, it has been some time since my last entry---I will try to catch you up on all the happenings on our mountainside:

Dad and I went after more fire wood, and guess what??? When Dad cut down a tree, it fell right on my truck! Ohhhh, it was pretty scary, because I WAS IN IT!!! It didn't land on the cab where I was sitting, though, it landed on the bed. Well, the bed was crushed, but we were still able to drive the truck home after Dad cut the tree up. So Dad and I built a flatbed for it.

But now, My poor truck is embarrased again! Olliver sudden, we heard a noise, and the truck wouldn't turn to the left! It was lucky we wern't very far from home and all the corners were right turns. Whenever the truck got too far to the right, dad had to stop and back up to straighten it out! We finally got home, and the next day we started working on it. Well, we worked and worked---Dad pounded on stuff under the truck with a hammer, and things came apart. Well, finally Dad said he wasn't able to fix it, so he put things back together, and then----another truck came. It was a much bigger one and a man got out and loaded MY truck on the big one. I was very sad, because I thought it was gone forever, but then Dad and I got in my small truck---(his name is Ranger)---and Ranger took us to town, and there was my truck I thought was lost. The man there is going to fix it.

OTHER NEWS: Julie came to visit for a few days. Dad and I went to Spokane to get her, to a place called an AIRPORT. Well, we parked Ranger, and while we were walking to airport, a terrible MONSTER came! It was a flying monster-----I think it was a DRAGON!! We were lucky that he didn't see us, and landed on the other side of the building. We went inside and sat down, and pretty soon, Julie came walking down the ramp! I was very excited to see her! Then when it was time for Julie to leave, we took her to Seattle to her friend's house. That was an exciting trip. I always enjoy looking out the window at all the cars and people. We went for a walk, and I found lots of things to pee on.

That's all for now!

But-sniffs and barks to all from (the incredible) Hulk:

Yesterday Dad and I went after firewood, and guess what? I found something wonderful-------a nice fresh cow pie! I was so excited!! I ate some, but saved most of it to roll around in. Then I went back to let Dad enjoy my new scent, but Dad wasn't very thrilled. I just can't understand it.

After the truck was loaded, we went home, and then, as soon as we arrived, Dad GAVE ME A BATH! Ohhh, I was so sad---I was so proud of how nice I smelled, and Dad washed it away! I will be on the look out for another cow pie so I can do it again.

Barks and tail wags from THE INCREDIBLE HULK!

I finally have time to bark to you all about our camping trip. We went to Baker Lake again----actually to PARK CREEK CAMPGROUND, near Baker lake. This was Grandma's favorite spot in the world, and she wanted her ashes left there.

It was a good trip---the weather was nice, and best of all, I didn't FALL IN this time. We went for a lot of walks---and there were so many wonderful smells and sights, and so many things to pee on that I kept GOING DRY!

Aunt Bonnie was there, and so were her son John and daughter Terri. Terri's son Brady brought his dog, a pit bull cross. We both raised our hackles at first, but after some sniffing, we got along fine.

Charlene brought me a smoked knuckle bone--------- I had a lot of fun burying it, digging it up and re-burying it! When I saw Dad starting to load stuff in my truck, I knew he was getting ready for us to come back home, so I dug up my bone and brought it to him to put in the truck.

Vixen's vacation was good too. She went to visit at HOWLING RIDGE ANIMAL SHELTER. She had a great time, playing with the other dogs. but she was happy to see Dad and me when we picked her up.

Hour pal,

The DEVIL made us do it!

But-sniffs and slobbers to all!

Well, When Dad and I came back from town yesterday, I had been in the car for quite a while, and was THIRSTY!! The usual routine when we arrive home, is for Dad and I to close the outer gate first, then open the inner gate so we can bring in whatever we brought from town.

Well, this time, because I was so thirsty, Dad opened the inner gate first. Then he started carrying in the groceries, and FORGOT TO CLOSE the outer gate. Vixen and I noticed that BOTH GATES WERE OPEN!!

What an opportunity! We both knew better, but the DEVIL told us that it would be just fine to RUN AWAY! So we did. What fun we were having! But pretty soon we heard Dad calling. We ignored him as long as we could, but after about 20 minutes, we decided we had better go home. So we did. Dad was happy that we came home, but was pretty disgusted with us for running away. He just doesn't understand that we just can't resist the devil when he tells us to break the rules. It certainly isn't OUR fault!

Your pal,
(the incredible) Hulk
