Help Scooter find his way Home

A woman stole/found Scooter the pug and gave him to her daughter for Christmas. Then she wrote a letter to the owners with $20. Help scooter make it home. If you know anything, please email bringscooterhome@gmail.com

Hopefully, the girl or her friends are connected to the web and will connect this story and return the pug. The owners have even offered to buy her a new dog to keep! Please help! this is one of the saddest things I've ever heard....

DALLAS — On Christmas Eve our little pug Scooter disappeared from our back yard (North Dallas - Midway and Royal). He was a year and a half old and we had raised him since he was a little puppy. We were devastated and felt that we had lost our little baby.

With the help of our neighbors we searched everywhere in the neighborhood, but he was nowhere to be found. We spent Christmas Eve crying and woke up early Christmas morning searching again, hoping beyond hope that we would find him. We posted signs around the neighborhood, but nobody knew anything about what happened to Scooter.

On New Years' Day, we received a strange letter from Tulsa. It was from the person who had taken Scooter. It was a sad story about a mother who seemed very down, having lost her home, job, and custody of her daughter due to her own personal decisions. She had taken our beautiful dog to give to her daughter on Christmas.

While she knew she had done the wrong thing by giving her daughter our dog, she did not want to tell her daughter and her ex-husband the truth about the dog that they now thought was theirs. The letter was not clear where the daughter lives, but they spent Christmas in Dallas with family.

We cannot understand how this mother could destroy another family just to make up for her past and pray that someone out there knows about a girl that got a pug for Christmas and helps us get our little baby back. We don't want anything bad to come to this family and are more than happy to buy the little girl a new dog and anything else that would reward her for taking such good care of our dog the past week. We just want Scooter to come home.

DALLAS -- The holidays were sad enough for Kim Velevis and her husband after their lovable pug "Scooter" dug its way out of the backyard and disappeared on Christmas Eve. But the real blow came with the new year: A letter from an anonymous woman who had found the friendly dog and gave it to her daughter as a Christmas present. To compensate for Velevis' loss, a $20 bill was enclosed.

"The puppy has a different name now, but he has plenty of food and toys. My daughter adores him. He sleeps with her every night," said the letter, which arrived Wednesday.

Velevis, 28, said she feels for the guilt-ridden woman, who described herself as a nearly penniless alcoholic. But she wants the dog back.

"We knew the first thing our Scooter would have done is find people," Velevis said. "He must have wandered up to this sick lady who, in desperation and in an attempt to fix her own life, ruined ours."

Velevis, who is 5 1/2 months pregnant with her first child, said she and her husband brought the wrinkly faced pooch home in July 2006 when he was about 8 weeks old.

Scooter could still be nearby. The typewritten letter, which carried a Tulsa, Okla., postmark, said the woman found the dog while visiting her daughter in Dallas. She wrote that her ex-husband has custody of the girl.

The woman, who discovered an address on the pug's collar, described a series of difficulties in her life.

"I lost custody because of problems I had with alcohol, and I have lost everything else," she wrote. "I have been sober for 6 months, and I am trying to turn myself around, but I have lost everything. My little girl wanted a pug dog like your little dog (very much!)"

The woman wrote that she cannot ask for forgiveness, "but I do want you to know that he does have people who love him and are taking care of him."

Velevis said she has no interest in pursuing charges against the woman and would be glad to purchase the woman's daughter another dog. - Matt Curry AP

Mah Birfday

Today, I turn 11. MaMa better throw me a party! *snort* mah wisdom only grows with each gray hair and loss of another wrinkle. I live mah pug life to the fullest! *schnurf*

Le Mops has aarrived

mah new lil brudder is here. He's an alien named Le Mops. He hasa blog but you should read mine first. *snort* Evryone should also stop by his dogster page and leave a note to say hi.

So far, he's a bit of a pain. All he does is bite me and steal mah treats. I try to be good for MaMa tho.

Never have to jump again!

The other day I hurt mah back legs. AND EVen tho I can jump again (I got on the couch yesterday) whhenever mah mama or the ricky is around, i make them pick me up. These is such a good racket. I might never have to jump again....And when mah new lil alien brother gets here, i'll teach him the trick too! *snorT*

Le Mops is coming

MaMa sez I can tell people now that my lil brother is coming in August. Le Mops is livin in Seattle now, but soon he will be here. I'm not so sure about dis lil brother thing, but we'll try it out....

MaMa went all goofy and registered for puppy gifts. She registered at Target Baby Registry and at Tag. She so Crazy sumtimes!

I'll post sum photos of mah new lil brother as soon as I know which one is which.

1. I gained 6 pounds since I got neutered 7 months ago and have been on a diet for the last couple months :(

I'm so sick!

It hurts to pee. like glass *snort* MaMa is makin me take these yicky pills (covered in cream cheese) and eat this gross bland food from a can! A CAN! *schnrf* I don't get no cheese or chicken or pasta or nuttin. I get this can food *snort* when it comes out, its still in th can shaped and mama chops it up like dat makes sum difference *Snort* I just wanna pee normal and mama sez this will work, but i dunno man, i mean i probably just need to go out more. Mama is taking me out every 2 hours and she watches me pee now. so embarrassing. i hope she stops that soon. she als sez i don't get no more nutro ever. *snort* The nice lady in the white coat said i had crsytals in my urine and i think dat's kinda pretty, but mama sez dat's what's makin me hurt when i pee. what does she know. i'm sick, so mama lets me go in da office all the time now. not even da ricky daddy cares if i'm in da office. *snort* time fer another walk.
