Back on Line Again!

OMD!! Has it really been over a year since my last post. Woof! Sorry folks, well I guess I’ve been slacking a bit.
A lot has happened since we last spoke but my life stays pretty much the same. About once a month we went on a trip out to Auntie Leslie’s to play with my Shiba pals there. Most of the old gang are not there anymore. Lenny has 2 new dads and 2 sister shiba’s. They tell me he is very happy. I miss running with him though.
My litter-mate Nora has been busy trying to make me an uncle. No pups yet but I’ll be sure to tell you if I become an uncle. In the mean time I have my paws full with the slew of other pups that the dads bring home to “socialize” (I did not know socialize meant “I get to play with puppies for a couple of weeks”…) Usually once a month we have a little girl over to visit. I really like playing with them. Atlas pretends like he is the king of the house when they first arrive and scolds them if they get to close to him, his food or anything else he thinks is his… Don’t worry I know he’s just a big gas bag (I’ll tell you about the gas issue sometime. BOL)
My favorite visitor is a pretty girl named Dallas. She fits in with us perfectly and does not take any guff from Atlas, or me for that matter. We also have had staying with us Lilith, Misu, and Atlas’s little sister Chalee (she’s nuts!!) Auntie Leslie says she has more girls that want to stay with us once they get a little older. WOOHOO.
I’ll put some new pictures of myself up. Daddy Jason has a new camera and you all know how he loves to take pictures of his children.

Reflections on a year... (or) LOOK OUT WORLD IT'S MY- BIRTHDAY!! *shiba tushie dance*

Like you all thought from that title that I was going to be serious or something!! BOL!! NOPE!! WOOHOO!! There's time for that serious-on-my-birthday-reflection stuff when I'm as old as The Dads (sssshhhhhh... don't tell 'em I said that!)... for now, I'm gonna PAAARRRRTTTAAAAAAYYYYY!!! WOOHOO!! Today I am one year old!! WOOHOO!!

Somepup said something about it being Cinqo de Mayo today... I'm not sure what that means but it must be Spanish for: It's my birthday, oh yeah! It's my birthday, oh yeah! It's my birthday, oh yeah! It's my birthday, oh yeah! It's my birthday, oh yeah! It's my birthday, oh yeah! BOL

I'm not quite sure what all The Dads have planned for me yet but I HOPE HOPE HOPE we will be going to my FAAAAVorite parks today so I can sniff and poke around then maybe Daddy Jason will let me go ZZZOOOOOMMM with him on his roller-thingies down by the water again... wwwwhhhheeeeeee!! Maybe I'll even get to pick out a new toy at SCRAPS today!! Oh I hope I hope I hope!! *Shiba tushie dance*

Okay... I have a LOT of zoomies and dancing to do so I don't have time to sit here at this 'puter thingie... and neither do YOU Daddy... LET'S GO!! WOOF!!

Told ya so Atlas...

He wouldn't listen to me... I tried to tell him that it really was true. The Dads put wheels on their feet and roll around!! Atlas thought I was chewing on some funny weeds when I told him that but he found out today for sure!!

The Dads took us down to Alki and we ran/rolled up and down the trails by the beach. It took Atlas a little while to get the hang of things... like not running in FRONT of The Dads while they were rolling. Good thing there is a lot of grass around to cushion those fast stops. BOL

Daddy Jason did most of the rolling this time... Daddy Shannon has been taking it easy on his feet... I think it had something to do with all the dancing he was doing last week. OH!! And Daddy Shannon said something about ordering NEW wheels called Landrollers. I guess they are supposed to be easy on his feet and knees. You know what THAT means... more rolling/running time with me!! WOOHOO!! Well... me AND my brother.

After The Dads took off their wheels, we walked up and down the beach and met another Shiba. He was HUGE and The Dads said something about him being "snarky." I'm not sure what "snarky" means but I think it has something to do with why we weren't allowed to play with him. Oh well... I just chewed on Atlas' ear a little more and we walked around some more.

It must have been "two-fer" day today at Alki. We kept seeing two of other pups. I do have to say though that my brother and I were the best looking "two-fer" by far... hehehehe... well come on... like you don't think so too?!??!?!! BOL

Okay... it's been a long, fun day and I need to go see what The Dads are doing. I think they are getting ready to go out without us. Granted, they don't do that too often but I'm going to make sure I get some good treats out of 'em before they leave. hehehehe....

SNOW!!

OMD!! Last night it got really really really cold outside then it SNOWED ALL NIGHT!! Five inches of snow all over my neighborhood and my back patio... and did I ever have fun with it.

Now, I have to admit that the first time I saw snow was before we moved into our new house (more on that later!!). And that time I was NOT impressed. It was wet and cold and sloppy and just was NOT something I wanted ANYTHING to do with. But THIS stuff!! WOOHOO!! Fun and fluffy and EVERYWHERE!! You can run in it, jump in it, dig in it and find all kinds of fun things buried in it. Who knew?!?!?!?!?

I played in it last night and I've been rolling around in it all day and don't think for a minute that The Dads let any of it get by without recording it all on film. BOL

All of my pup pals have been telling me how great this snow stuff is and I just couldn't see what they thought was so cool until now... The Dads say it won't last much longer so I'm going to make sure I get all the play time in I can.

If you have this stuff where you are, grab your Moms and Dads and get out there in it... it's PAWESOME!! WOOF!!

Larry Merrill did a portrait of me!!

Hey there everypup... today was my day to be dog of the day on Larry Merrill's Dog Each Day website!! WOOHOO!!

Mr. Merrill did a great portrait of me from a picture The Dads took this summer while they were planting new herbs and grasses on the balcony. I was in the way so Daddy Shannon picked me up and put me in one of the coconut husk lined planters. I was a little intimidated by being off the floor that far so I just poked my head up over the rim of the planter and Daddy Jason, being quick with his camera finger, took the picture that inspired Larry. The Dads say this is one of their favorite pictures of me because it shows my true nature... whatever THAT comment is supposed to mean I'm SURE I don't know... hehehehehe... just because I'm always poking around and getting into things I'm not supposed to... hehehe...

A Change In Plans

My litter-sister, Nora, was supposed to be coming this weekend for another visit with The Dads and me. Then, this morning Auntie Leslie sent an email saying it wouldn't be such a good idea if we hung out together this particular weekend!! THE NERVE!! *hmph*

I'm not sure what all it had to do with and I didn't really understand all the "people speak" but I think The Dads were saying something about Nora being too hot... or something like that... It's been cold and rainy here for over a week now... how could she be too hot?!?!?! I just don't get girls. Again, I say HMPH!!

I was really disappointed because Nora is going to be in her very first show next weekend. I wanted to tell her good luck and give her my lucky chewie toy! Oh well... The Dads said I can still play with her for a LITTLE WHILE because we are still going to Auntie Leslie's place this weekend. I guess that will be okay then. I'll just throw her a BIG party when she comes home with blue ribbons and trophies... hehehe...

The cool part is we are still going to Auntie Leslie's. She always tells me how handsome I am and I get to see Kai. Kai is a BIG Japanese Akita... I like to jump on his head and make him growl like a big ol' bear. hehehehe

The kicker to the whole weekend? We're still bringing one of my family home with us! We're either bringing Lenny or Sophie home for the weekend to play with. Lenny is another one of the San Jo Taro Boyz... he's about a year older than me and is a HOOT to play with. And Sophie... you remember who she is, right?? Sophie is my litter-mom!! How cool is that??

I'm sad that Nora won't be coming over to play with us but WOW!! Sometimes a change in plans can be a good thing, eh? I'll make sure The Dads get the pictures of this weekend up online asap!!

Not sure about all this whispering...

Hey there everypup! I seem to have a little situation here that maybe you all can help clue me in to. You see, I THINK The Dads are planning some sort of surprise for me. There has been an awful lot of whispering going on around here and The Dads are talking to Auntie Diane and Auntie Leslie about me going someplace for a day or so. A field trip maybe?? hhhmmmm...

I really like it when The Dads surprise me! Ohhh... but my buddy Chase certainly had a "surprise" here a couple of weeks ago. See, Chase was going to be a show pup but Auntie Diane decided his temperment was great for working as a therapy pup. You know what that means... Chase took a trip to the special vet... yup... snip snip!! *shiver* Can you imagine it??? And Chase is only about a month older than I am!! He seems to be fine now but... well... can you imagine it??? *shiver*

Oh well... I can't imagine what The Dads would be dreaming up for me. They always have such fun things planned for me. I guess it has something to do with a friend of Auntie Diane's... hhhmmm... maybe I'll talk to Chase about it the next time I see him.

Back at it again!!

Guess what!! Nora is back!! WOOHOO!! Yup, that's right, my litter-sister and I got along soooo well last weekend that she is back this weekend.

To start off the day, The Dads and I went over to Auntie Leslie's house where Nora and I played in the BIG fenced yard... The Dads kept saying something about wearing ourselves out before we got in the car... silly Daddies! Then, we went to a park for our Shiba Inu Enthusiast's Club meet up group where we ran and romped... you guessed it... JAKE!! WOOHOO!! This day just kept getting better and better!!

Even though Nora wasn't quite ready for being off leash with that many other pups around, she still got to meet a lot of new pups and their people and Jake and I ruled the park!! WOOF!!

There were all kinds of pups there... big ones, fat ones, fluffy ones (including that one that kept trying to jump on me... ggrrrr)and little ones (those are fun to play with because they run fast!!). We all just ran around until The Dads and Jake's Dads decided it was time for lunch.

After that, we went for a walk in a little town where all The Dads had some kind of funny smelling food and something called MARR-GRR-EAT-AHS. I'm not sure what those are but The Dads sure seemed to like 'em a lot.

Now we're back home and playing while The Dads take a nap. They said something about going to the park to play later... then tomorrow we're going hiking around downtown again. I'll keep you all posted and I'll make sure The Dads put the pictures online this week.

ZZZZZZzzzz...

Apollo can't come to the keyboard right now because he's been asleep since we returned home tonight. We picked up Nora early Saturday morning and the two of them played and ran pretty much non-stop until around 4pm today (Sunday).

Since this is Apollo's forum for telling his stories, we'll wait until he wakes up. LOL Probably about Tuesday??? hehehehehe... Then we'll make sure we help him edit and post all of the fantastic pictures of the two of them.

Oh... here's a little spoiler for you all... Nora is coming back next Saturday. Heck, even The Dads are excited about that!! WOOHOO!! *ahem* sssshhhhh... he's still worn out...

Sisters?!?!?

So get this, pups...

A couple of weeks ago, The Dads and I went over to Auntie Leslie's place so I could say hello to her and so I could play with my litter-sister, Nora. Auntie Leslie saw how handsome and how well behaved I was that she even let me play with some of my cousins.

Then, something really big happened because The Dads started talking like they were really excited. First, Auntie Leslie brought out this really pretty lady Shiba that I kind of recognized but wasn't quite sure at first. Then... it suddenly dawned on me... it was my Shiba-Mom!! WOOF!! SOPHIE!! I only got to nose at her for a little while but The Dads got out their camera thingy and took some great pictures. Cool, huh?

Just when I thought the excitement was over, out came ANOTHER Shiba! Auntie Leslie sure does have a LOT of 'em! go fig... BOL!! This time it was a big, very handsome male named Simon. Auntie Leslie explained to The Dads that Simon was the sire of Leroy who was the sire of Sophie... it was my great grand-pup!! How crazy is that??

I also got to play with Simone (a little ten week old crazy pup who tried to eat my ears!) and we all ran and played in this BIG fenced in yard/field until we were pooped... well... almost pooped. hehehehe

As we were getting ready to leave, The Dads and Auntie Leslie were talking about how good it was for Nora and me to play together. Auntie Leslie said we could come back any time to play with Nora and then... it happened... The Dads said that they would like to take Nora out on some of our outings sometime. Auntie Leslie said she thought that would be a GREAT idea and, if The Dads were willing to put up with two of us pups at the same time, they could come get Nora and we could all play for the weekend!! WOOHOO!!

Today is Saturday and we've been out playing all morning around town. Now, we're loading up and getting ready to head over to Auntie Leslie's house to pick up my litter-sister Nora and play all weekend!! The Dads said to just wait and see how well it goes today... if everything goes well, Nora will spend the night here with us in the big city and we'll go on a loooong hike tomorrow. WOOHOO!!

OH!! And Jake and his Dads are going to come along on one of our walk too!! We're just gonna be ROLLING in Shibas this weekend!! hehehehe... Shibas Rule!!

I'm sure, as always, The Dads will have the camera thingy out and I'm sure there will be plenty of pics for sharing. I think HQ is going to have to give us bigger picture pages if this keeps up!! BOL
