Good News!

HI All,

First I want to thank everyone for their well wishes, rosettes, and prayers. They are very much appreciated! The great news is it turns out that the cyst is not cancer. (If confused read diary entry below this one) It turns out that it was just extra tissue/cartilage. Tucker must have hurt himself as a pup and as the cut healed it just kept growing and growing. (It has a technical name but its long) Basically it was hyper-extended. So now that it is removed it shouldn't come back and all is well. We are very relieved and happy and so is the vet too.

Woof from a very relieved and happy lab,

Tucker

Hi All,

Yesterday I had to go get surgery to get a cyst that was growing in my mouth out. I had it for a few years and the vet was watching it. It kept growing and getting bigger so the vet and my parents decided it was time to get it out. It was sent out to get biopsyed and to make sure it isn't cancer. We will know the results in about a week. We are all praying that it isn't cancer!

Ok time for a nap!

Hi All,

Well last weekend I got my picture taken with santa! I told him I have been a real good lab - a little mischievous at times but nothing too out of the ordinary. I smiled for my picture and even got my little human bro to not be scared of santa. (last year he cried but not this year) We both got pictures taken with the guy in the red suit. Then they were giving free dog toys out after meeting with Santa. Oh boy oh boy it was the best!

Wishing everyone a very joyous holiday season!

Life as a 5 yr. old!

Hiya everyone,

Well back in May I turned 5 years old! Everyone thought this would be the year when I calmed down a bit since I am an energetic lab and I also have a mischievous streak. Yeah I am an independent thinker and if opportunities present itself you can bet I will take it. For example, at the dogpark I go to there happen to be one fisherman and he was on the otherside of the stream. (he wasn't supposed to be there since its designated as a dogpark area) The fisherman just happen to bait his hook with some very yummy smelly fish. The other dogs did not dare to venture over but I just couldn't help myself. So what did I do? Yup I swam on over marched right up to the fisherman and grabbed his pole by the handle! Everyone at the dogpark were yelling "leave it". (not really for the fisherman since I am gentle but so I wouldn't get a hook in my mouth) But it was just too much fun to play tug of war with that fisherman with the pole in my mouth. Eventually I tired of this and yes I did heed the "leave it" command but when I was ready after about five minutes. I never did get to taste the bait - I just wanted to play with the fisherman. Everyone including the fisherman was laughing. Some people even took pictures of me doing this with there cellphones so they could show all there friends! Nobody got hurt and I taught the fisherman a lesson. Don't fish at the dogpark area of the stream! Once I was done and swimming away he packed up his things and moved on as fast as lighting.

So what do you think did I calm down?

Hi Everyone,

Tucker here reporting that indeed we are having a snowstorm today! On Sat. we had 26 inches of snow here and today so far we have about 18 inches and they are forecasting up to 24 inches. Which I really believe we will be getting! The snow just isn't stopping. This has been the most snow I have ever seen in my little labbie life and boy is it fun to play in!

Am I complaining? - NOPE I love the SNOW! So what if it is up to my labrador ears - its wonderful. I kinda look funny since all you see is my head sticking out and it looks like I am a dolphin jumping the waves - but in this case the waves of snow! I love it!

Happy yellow lab in the snow,

Tucker

Big Crate Escape!

Hi All,

Well I finally did it - I escaped from my crate! My family had a wedding to go to and I wasn't too happy to be put in my crate (even though I had my treat ball)! I found that if I jumped up hard enough and hit my head up at the crate it could be pushed up. So I continued doing this until it came up off its hinges enough that I could crawl up and jump out! Yes I jumped out with my treat ball (of course who could forget that) ! Then I was free to explore the house and have a Tucker fun time!

My parents were shocked to find the crate empty when they arrived back home. I came out from the hallway where I was sleeping. Now my daddy is going to tie down the crate when they leave from now on. (darn no more Tucker escapes)

Did I do any damage? Well I did knock over a candlestick when I looked out the window but it didn't break. But that's it - nothing else was damaged, broken, or eaten!

The Vet!

Hi All,

Well today I just went to the wonderful vet. I LOVE the vet. I mean its a place for dogs to play right? And they have treats so it has to be the most wonderful place! Well I think it is.

So it was my routine yearly appt. and I got check over and got a good job for my parents. I am now about 77lbs. which the vet said is perfect for my height and breed. I am an active lab since I run, go for walks, and swim daily that the vet said my parents could increase my food a bit - can you believe it? I loved hearing that because I LOVE to eat!

My parents were also pleased to hear that my hips are good. All in all I am a healthy, energetic, happy, mischievous lab. Did I say mischievous? I meant very creative lab who does things to maybe sometimes get himself in trouble - opps! I mean the pillows on the couch are for my taking right? They put them there just so that I (Tucker) can take them and run through the doggie door to enjoy them outside- that must be why? I mean its sooo much fun! I just can't stop myself. I know I am not supposed to but they are irresistible. Sometimes my parents catch me in the act just as I am about to run with a pillow and I drop it and put myself in a Tucker timeout. Yup you heard it right - I walk right to my room and give myself a timeout.

Ok off to be creative!

Tucker has run of the house! Opps!

Hi all,

Well now that I am four my parents must know what a good boy I am because they left the door to my crate open and left the house! Opps! So I got to take my treat ball and run all around the house. I was so happy. Finally they trust me! I mean why wouldn't they? So I am energetic and love to get into mischief. Doesn't every yellow lab?

So my parents came home and I met them at the door as usual with my tail wagging and my big Tucker smile to greet them. Then they saw the door was left open. UH OH they replied. They asked me what did I get into today? So they did a walk around the house and were shocked and amazed that I (Tucker) didn't touch a thing. The pillows were still on the couch. None of the baby's toys were missing or unaccounted for. Everything looked normal and it was!

I got lots of praise, hugs, and kisses! I am one happy yellow labbie. Now will they trust me again to have run of the house? Hmm that is yet to be seen BUT I will keep you posted!

Tucker an Egg Thief!

This true tale of Tucker the Egg Thief is sung to the tune of Peter Cottontail:

Here comes Tucker with a yellow lab's tail!
Knocked down those baskets with plastic eggs and left a trail.
Hippidity, Hoppity, Easter's on its way!
Chomp, Chomp, Chomp, and chew, chew, chew.
Those eggs were mangled up and messed up too.
Hippidity, Hoppity, Easter's on its way!

Happy Easter everyone!

Tucker
